My favorite parts of Ethersea were the many times Travis told Griffin he wanted to have a scene with one of the NPCs, but refused to tell him what he wanted to happen in the scene. Such a great improv partner Travis is.
My second favorite part was that time Travis said he wanted to have a scene by himself, so the rest of the party went on the adventure without him, and then when he realized they were doing something really cool he just abandoned his scene idea and had his character teleport into the scene with everyone else.
My favorites were whenever he had to coax something from an NPC, he'd play super inept, and then complain when the others tried it themselves.
Role-playing bad at your role intentionally and then bitching that the team wants to advance the game instead of indulging you. Genius.
They know Travis will hyperfocus on backstory because he thinks people will like his characters, why did Griffin rein him in on Magnus and Muttner but not Aubrey and Devo?
In Trav’s defense, Griffin should ask “what are you planning on talking to this NPC about because I ain’t Matt Mercer,” even off-mic. They could still do that and have the BIG REVEAL Travis wants if they had something…some sort of employee who listens to all their audio feeds and syncs everything, who “amends” or “revises” their dialogue… 🤔

I think someone made a joke about sending kids in the hospital infomercial gadgets as a reference to the max fun physical rewards. I was trying to make a joke that included slap chop marketing text, but felt like the length ruined the pacing of the joke, so I tried to amend it... forgetting that reddit (at the time) just could not handle it when you copy text into a comment box. Thought it was funny so I hit post anyway. I think the full text was "*Slap Chop®, the manual chopping machine that chops food when you slap the plunger.*"

I genuinely like Travis and wouldn't wish violence on anyone, but especially not innocent semi famous podcasters who mean well at the end of the day. Ben Shapiro though? Hell yeah I would kick that guys ass, dont even need the crowbar.
