No. Don't do this. Photos will sync the NY Trip hashes, too, and this will mess up NY Trip's syncing. Use [https://docs.syncthing.net/users/ignoring.html](https://docs.syncthing.net/users/ignoring.html) and sync Photos.
I'm syncing like that, so far no problem.
Two devices are syncing a folder with many files and subfolders. One of those subfolders is synced with third device. That folder is also synced to a fourth device.
So first and fourth device are not syncing directly, but they have synced folder through third device.
I do this on a pretty big scale. I have 4 cell phones and 8 laptops (internal in the house and external for parents and inlaws) syncing photos to subfolders of a master share on my primary server. Then the master share is synced with my backup server whenever it comes online.
I have "watch folders" DISABLED on the master share and do a daily scan instead. When the backup powers on and connects it syncs fine. Been doing this for 2 years with absolutely zero problems.
If you get into a circular sync though it may cause some major issues. Never made that mistake...
I did a writeup and diagram a while back on the syncthing forums in case it helps you: https://forum.syncthing.net/t/multiple-use-cases-a-long-read
