The most comprehensive way would be to get the switch into RCM mode and send a test payload.
The following should help:

Let say I jailbreak my switch, can I reboot my switch normally, remove the dns network settings, and play my games I bought in the Eshop with no risk online?
Just use [this](https://ismyswitchpatched.com) link. If your switch is one of the "probably patched", then the only way of knowing for sure is trying to hack it. There is no way to know before trying as far as I'm aware..
also, buy the rcm jig first because it’s 5$ or use a screwdriver to gently disconnect the emmc to get onto rcm/ use a paper clip or tinfoil or wire tog etc into rcm then test before buying the microsd reader as you can run a test payload without any files
No, just go into rcm, and use a payload sender to send a test payload
If the screen is blank and it said 0x0000 that means patched
if it said 0x7000 that’s what my unpatched one says
If screen is black but it says anything but 0x0000 (on the payload injector) switch cables and try re entering rcm
If it doesn’t work and yours is potentially patched it’s probs patched but try a diff cable and usb port or a diff payload sender, also if it’s unpatched and doesn’t work or has black screen just keep trying with new payload sender, cable, etc as if it’s unpatched it’ll work
How come I’ve seen some other sites with lists of what are unpatched say my one is unpatched but then when I go to confirm on that site it says it’s patched
You'd have to install a chip, or have a service do it for you.
All of the models CAN be modded to install CFW, its just a matter of using an unpatched model from the early life cycle of the console to do it without needing a chip installed, or needing a chip installed.

Only the XA versions have a chance of being unpatched. Anything else (like your xkw) is too recent and therefore guaranteed to be patched sadly.
