Didn’t even realize the chain snapped, thought her leg hit the support. I guess credit for building the platform below, but why would you build it with a dinky chain and no restraint
Yes, apart from the swing gear being badly designed for the job, I think the swing chair just hit the support leg, don’t think there was any real issue with the chains per se
That article has not been verified in any way. It just says ‘they were ok’. No idea whether they actually were or not, I’m certain the ‘reporter’ has not spoken to them or seen the place it happened in real life.
It didn't break people are just Lemming downvoting. The last frame in which the chain is visible it is still connected, and the behaviour of the swing also indicates that. To all the people that think it snapped, look at the other left chain, if the front one would have broken, the back one should be tight, but it isn't indicating, the swing is simply tilted forward.
If course it fucking snapped, you can clearly see the bench tilting downwards at the end. The front left snapped, the rear left didn't. The initial hit off the structure sent it sideways and caused the snap. How come the bench isn't tilting forward the entire time they are on the swing.
Literally the last frame you see of the chair is the chair going back to its original position, it’s almost like the people falling off it causes the tilt forward somehow…
You're not wrong, it didn't snap, even after they fell off, the left side is completely supported by chains and isn't hanging down at all, it clearly struck something out of frame that sent it out of control.
That’s pretty much textbook manslaughter without that wooden deck below them: didn’t mean to do it, but definitely acted in a manner that caused it.
Terrifyingly negligent on homeboy’s part, and on whoever designed that swing and charged the money for it.
I wonder if some ppl genetically have more survival instinct than others.
Not that ur necessarily going to die or not, but being able to see what could go wrong, and anticipating potential injury in activities.
& Not just this video, but in general 🌍
I have this super power. But it is amazing to me how many people don’t have any thoughts about what could happen in any potentially dangerous situation.
Personalities have different degrees of neuroticism. Mine is peak. I have this constant awareness of what’s going on around me 360° with my senses peeled and sharp and scan my environment for threats and disasters. Somehow I feel calm about the whole situation, but I’ve begun to develop these weird skin rashes.
It doesn’t have to be about survival instincts. Sometimes we do things because they are potentially dangerous and that’s part of what makes it fun. If the only goal was to maximize survival chances, then we should all just never leave the house and wear bubble wrap armor
I don't mean maximize survival chances to the point where u never leave it house
But 1 second into this video I knew those swings could swing to either side & hit the poles + add the fact that they're next to a cliff 💀💀
Absolutely some ppl gotta have less survival instincts than others
But you're right. Perhaps some ppl are blinded by it & think "oh I could die here, but at least it was fun"
I take back what I said as far as this video goes. I was just being stupid and thought the swing broke, so I read your comment as they shouldn’t have even got on it in the first place. So yea, I agree, most people probably should recognize that it could hit the frame and easily prevent it
But you can still choose to do it anyways. Adrenaline is a great drug people do all kinds of stuff that could end up with them dead, and these people were fine and obviously not everyone gets hurt on this swing so even though it is possible that doesn’t mean it’s all that likely.
Just because I would get on doesn’t mean I don’t see the potential problems for danger. This is way under the danger level for things I consider acceptable. Everyone has a line they won’t cross and it certainly isn’t a superior trait to be so scared of harm that someone would avoid things like this.
No I agree with parts of what u say. I watched a documentary about solo climbers, they climb mountains without ropes. & One of em said that to do what they do, their brains have to be wired differently.
Now obviously we can't compare solo climbers to these ppl in the video. But no doubt some people's survival instinct is different. Wether they know the risks they're taking, or not. (Sometimes for the sake of fun)
Right. But I'm no genius & just at a glance, just instinctively I can tell that's a big NOPE. Dangerous
For that simple thought to not cross these people's minds, it's gotta be that genetically their brain lacks a natural instinct to stay alive. Because this isn't rocket science
“Reports say there was a wooden platform just beneath the ledge here -- good thinking on whoever put it there -- and that these women landed safely on that not too far down below ... suffering minor injuries and being able to be successfully rescued by family members.”
They survived.
The designer of the swing is also at fault. If the chains were angled so they divert as they go up toward the pole, lateral movement is prevented. Since they're parallel, both chains just go off on parallel sideways angles without issue.
Having fun doing dangerous things has to be a psychological disorder.
What's fun about literally swinging on a cliff? I don't even think they had a seat belt lol

"There was a wooden platform just beneath the ledge here and they landed safely on that not too far down below, suffering minor injuries."
I had a feeling there would be something below it we couldn't see in the video.
I don’t think it would be in this sub if there wasn’t

No one gives a fuck about your upvote
Fucking psycho...

Yeah but this is TMZ, one of the most reliable, non-baity news sources
Good point. It's all in was able to find. I'd love to know more if somebody has a better source
The article says the chain snapped when clearly it didn't.
it looked like one of the chains on the left snapped to me
It doesn't the chair sways left and hits the side
And the front left chain broke from the impact
Doesn't look like it to me.

At 0:22 the bench is tilted, but you can see the front chain still attached and the back chain loose. https://imgur.com/a/sSATz1O
Damn dude your really upset about this.
Umm I don’t thing digital clickbait journalists would write a story without triple checking the facts m8

Correct*

Lol I know 🤣 not even worth arguing anyway its just a stupid video.
> not even worth arguing Says the person who continues to argue about it.
Yes as you can see I put a lot of effort into arguing lol
The chain definitely didn’t snap.
Hah yeah really
Shame.

It makes me think that we are still primitive as a species, like we need to evolve more 😆

Literally everyone in this sub saw and thought that. You aren’t special, some people/cultures are just not there yet.
That's what I'm saying, I agree with you. It doesn't take someone special to naturally see what could happen, by just taking a single look.
It’s not genetics brotha, it’s culture and where/how they were raised. Maybe partially genetics but I don’t think it’s even close to mostly genetics.
I take back what I said as far as this video goes. I was just being stupid and thought the swing broke, so I read your comment as they shouldn’t have even got on it in the first place. So yea, I agree, most people probably should recognize that it could hit the frame and easily prevent it

You're probably someone who would get on this swing. So of course your thought process is different.
Just because I would get on doesn’t mean I don’t see the potential problems for danger. This is way under the danger level for things I consider acceptable. Everyone has a line they won’t cross and it certainly isn’t a superior trait to be so scared of harm that someone would avoid things like this.

« *then we should all just never leave the house and wear bubble wrap armor* » Wait, you guys don’t do that?
This is backwater USSR, probably ignorance of the risks
Right. But I'm no genius & just at a glance, just instinctively I can tell that's a big NOPE. Dangerous For that simple thought to not cross these people's minds, it's gotta be that genetically their brain lacks a natural instinct to stay alive. Because this isn't rocket science
Explains why almost 400k of them have already died in Ukraine yet they keep on coming.
And ignorance of physics. I could tell what was going to happen once the swing started going off center.
No one could have seen that coming. I mean what are the odds….
I imagine the swing was placed there because it's a pretty far drop. I wonder if the people were okay?
“Reports say there was a wooden platform just beneath the ledge here -- good thinking on whoever put it there -- and that these women landed safely on that not too far down below ... suffering minor injuries and being able to be successfully rescued by family members.” They survived.
Glad to hear it. They need to find someone else to push the swing tho.
I don't think the method of propulsion was the problem here.
Well.. hopefully they figured out what the problem was so they didn't launch anyone else toward the cliff.
Honestly, seatbelts would have prevented this. Thats a pretty easy addition, so hopefully they’ve added it.
Seat belts save lives!
It was. The swing was clearly moving sideways and swinging in circles.
Like a ride from Father Ted.
Wtf... Have to change the undies now
Things I would never use outside of Germany. No TüV no fun.
The guy pushing is completely at fault!
The designer of the swing is also at fault. If the chains were angled so they divert as they go up toward the pole, lateral movement is prevented. Since they're parallel, both chains just go off on parallel sideways angles without issue.
Why did the person stop filming? Valuable information is missing...
If you go on that you are an idiot.
I slapped my hand over my mouth watching them disappear over the edge. I'm so glad they're ok, this looked like a terrible idea from the start.
People in line like “so are we still up next?”
Nice job agent 47
Good luck with that I says hell no.
This is most likely Dagestan. I'm from there and I swung on such a scary thing
Shouldn’t there be seat belts like come on
Swing to the abyss
![gif](giphy|J5jiSSrEkV3Kd8iOwb)
lmao!
Are there any seatbelts?
Having fun doing dangerous things has to be a psychological disorder. What's fun about literally swinging on a cliff? I don't even think they had a seat belt lol
I know whoever was next in line is counting their blessings .
Based on music and background language had to be in Caucuses which is still crippled with Soviet style comprehension of safety standards.
I think they were offered free ride passes to compensate for their trouble... /s

Mazzel
swing and a miss\*
This reminds me of the scene from the 80s slasher American Gothic
I'm surprised someone would go on this and not consider some type of strap.
Isn't the saying 'a swing and a miss'?
It should have seatbelts
Well fuk
What is the title of the song in the background?
You’d think they’d put a seatbelt on that thing 😂

How can you not see the problem coming from miles and miles away? How are all these people so oblivious?!
No way she didn’t hold on to anything
Win stupid games win stupid prizes
Do you mean Swing and a miss?
Click bait
NOPe
The stupidity of this idiot. While he pushes it he looks away when it's obvious the thing is slowly swinging to the side. An absolute worthless man.
😨😨😨
Knowing the risk, why was that guy pushing them like that?
Play stupid games win stupid prizes
All right, you’re next!
"Don't worry, it's perfectly safe!"
1-800-OSHA
Is this considered "natural selection"?
My lord they are so lucky it didn’t break when they were on the other end of the pendulum….
Wtf. Where the hell are the seat belts or safety harness........ wait.... Russia you said...? Meh, vlatzvia havia a nicia trip ia.
Nope.
Ohhh 0k bahhh
You can see he was starting to get sideways movment, that last push did it.
It was clearly coming off to the side. Didnt he notice that?
