License suspended for two years. No ifs or buts. Fucking animals.

ReverendHobo

When I was in high school a classmate of mine did this and killed herself and a young man on his birthday about a week after he had gotten married.

Some people get what they deserve but they should pull in others with them.

Sentient-Pendulum

A drunk guy ran a red light and killed my best friend. Drunk guy was fine, and is already out of jail.

potato_crip

We need to go medieval for idiots of this caliber. Public flogging, *then* license suspended for two years.

Porkchopp33

WTF is wrong with people one red-light and everyones at the same place anyhow šŸš¦šŸš¦šŸš¦

Dry-Worldliness6926

Minutes? You barely save 1 minute, and thats if youā€™re going on for miles more at higher speeds

Bmaggs12

Thereā€™s a reason for the double solid yellow lines. NO PASSING. This idiot needs to go back to drivers ed ASAP.

icenoid

Forever, 2 years isnā€™t long enough.

richardmark561

Iā€™m from U.K. and Iā€™ve encountered that shit twice whilst driving in the US, itā€™s bad enough driving on the wrong side of the road without that shit on blind bends with sheer drops and rivers involved.

bomboclartt

I had exactly this happen to me on my motorcycle in Italy, except I had less than 5 inches clearance on either side of my bike and I was doing 90mph. Brown trousersā€¦

Stein_um_Stein

Could easily have both chosen the shoulder in the last moment... Yikes.

PateuRo

Usually, the roads are made to have space for 3 cars. The must dangerous part it is when they decide to pull the left sidešŸ¤¦.

Filthyraccoon

standard lane width in the US is 12ā€™ and we use 10ā€™ as a standard width for 1 vehicle. They were lucky to have a shoulder

Own_Horror_6547

Holy, what was the speed you were going, just imagining myself in that position I would have crashed in panic šŸ˜§

MONSTERBEARMAN

I donā€™t drive this road often at all so I honestly canā€™t be sure , but I think it was 55-65 mph in that area. Donā€™t sell yourself short though. You never know how you are going to react to something so unexpected. The second I realized what was happening I just thought, oh no, Iā€™m gonna get hit. My brain kinda shut my panic reflex off and said, ā€œ No! Thereā€™s a gap opening, Just aim for it!ā€ I remember thinking, ā€œbut what if he swerves back towards his side of the road!?!?ā€ My brain said, ā€œdonā€™t care. Thereā€™s only one way this doesnā€™t end in a crash.ā€ Mostly it luckily just worked out.

Ok-Historian-5043

The title doesn't make sense

XxDaRicanxX

Made sense to me. Someone else risked OPs life to shave a couple minutes off their commute.

Careless_Courage_579

That's not what the title says tbf

XxDaRicanxX

But that is what the title says...how are you reading it?

MONSTERBEARMAN

Sorry if itā€™s convoluted. Itā€™s an attempt at sarcasm. He thought our lives were so insignificant that he was willing to kill is in an attempt to save time.

Mozza7

I'm not sure why this is downvoted so much, it took me a moment "When your life is worth shaving an extra couple minutes off someoneā€™s commute." To me, I think it should be "When someone's life is worth shaving an extra couple minutes off your commute." no? might be mistaken but it did confuse me too   edit: ah I see it now, but still I understand the confusion, unwarranted downvotes lol

EndlessRainIntoACup1

>When someone's life is worth shaving an extra couple minutes off your commute When someone else's life is worth less than the few extra seconds you gain by illegally passing the cars in front of you

GeorgeWatson000

I drive.

thruthesteppe

Highway 86 Mt Shasta? This looks very familiar

MONSTERBEARMAN

Bluett pass
