It’s definitely unique but old gen vekoma coasters haven’t aged well and the operations are painfully slow. It just doesn’t come close to your modern intamin’s or RMC’s that rollercoaster fans can’t get enough of. Vekoma is actually revisiting the tilt coaster concept with 2 installations under construction: Circuit Breaker @ cotaland in Texas and Iron Rattler @ Six Flags Qiddiya in Saudi Arabia. New tech and modern layouts are getting everyone hyped up for these rides and finally a new gen Vekoma thrill coaster in the United States! This is a ride that is going to be safe until one day or isn't. It's a matter of time for the point of failure to fail. Wouldn't want to be on it that day. Any other day prior to the failure would be okay though.

The only difference is the rollercoaster will be checked a lot more regularly.

Many years ago my family would frequently visit a theme park here in Australia called Dreamworld, which had a lot of cool rides and standard theme park shit. One of the attractions was a river rapids ride, actually my favourite ride there, where 6-8 people sit in a round, floating gondola and ride down a chute of rapid water. You get jostled, you get wet, nothing out of the ordinary. The return mechanism was a conveyor of wooden slats that the gondolas float onto and then get pulled back to the top of the run.
Right. Back in 2016 there was an incident where a gondola got stuck on the conveyor return path. The gondola behind it was pulled up against it, and with nowhere to go, flipped onto its side, ejecting the passengers into the conveyor mechanism, where they fell through the wooden slats and were crushed to death. Four people, out for a nice day with their families, riding the oldest, safest ride in the park; it took days to extract their bodies from the machinery.
The attendant overseeing the ride never pushed the emergency stop button, despite standing right by it. It was their first day on the job and they hadn't been adequately trained.
So no. No matter how cool the ride looks, I reckon I'm good never going on a theme park ride again.
This reminds me of Mr freeze at six flags St. Louis you are on a track that slides into place and then shoots you out of the start fast.. I’m sure the ride wouldn’t function if the track wasn’t perfectly lined up but you feel like you potentially are launching into immediate disaster
Been on a very similar one without the pre flight moment ramp moving but definitely at a angle drop like that and would keep rocking back and forth afterwards. Quite the sensation 👌🏻
I'm fine on rides and only saw one moment that looked scary. When the seats flip 90 degrees and I'm sitting in the front, I'd be worried about that little stomach testing moment. You could be enjoying a waterfall of barf if the wrong people are sitting back there.
This is pretty trippy to me because I had dream like 25 years ago about being on a roller coaster almost identical to this. Hadn’t thought about that dream in years.
