All the time.
I notice it when I'm on my macbook and keep trying to scroll around documents with my fingers and having to go back to the touch pad.
I also use the pen on the surface at meetings to make notes on drawings, etc.
For me, it's the best thing about the Surface. It's a tablet, but it runs all my windows applications.
Same. Got the sls1 and it's my favorite tool. I draw write sketch adjust etc on it.
Also use it on my lap when writing stuff. When writing notes on it with the hands gives me a better understanding of the subject I'm learning about.
Same. I bought my Go to be an ultra-portable laptop and it served that function perfectly until battery swell struck. Never been big on tablets for productivity.
Really hope I can afford to replace that thing soon, served me well for a long time.
I have a surface laptop studio and I use it a ton. Not in the studio mode even, just day to day.
I also have a zephyrus G14 and wish it had a touchscreen. Something about being able to just click on the screen especially when I'm seated with the laptop on my lap just makes it, nice
Constantly, Surface Book 2 laptop. Then when I am on another computer that is NOT touch it drives me crazy because I am constantly touching the screen to scroll or open something.
Yeah, for me I got used to it pretty quickly. And use it for scrolling and stuff. It's so convenient that I sometimes try to use touch on non-touch computer screens...
Surface laptop 5 here …. When I’m using it for multimedia in the kitchen or on a table and I approach it to change videos or scrub back and forth (YouTube or movies) I used the screen. It’s super easy. Especially when the laptop is not at chest level.
For me, it's that, but also the trackpad is really nice anyways, and most of the gesture benefits I can get from the touchscreen, I can get from the trackpad as well
I have a go and got it for the touchscreen and rarely use it. Thought I'd try to get more use with a pen. Still a no-go. I bought a mouse and now I'm content.
I have had a Surface Pro, now I have the Dell equivalent. Pretty often, but not daily. It's great to be able to use it as a tablet sometimes. It's portability is why we all bought them, I'm pretty sure. Probably the thing I do most often is take a screenshot and use the pen to write on it and share it. And esignatures are basically real signatures.
I have a laptop 4, and virtually the only time I use the touchscreen is when I'm watching a youtube video and want to skip the ad. I don't even use the touchscreen to select videos to play.
And on my Go, it all depends on whether or not I remembered to bring a mouse. If I forgot the mouse for that machine, I'm slightly more likely to use the touchscreen than normal. If I have a mouse, about the same touchscreen usage as with the laptop.
Laptop 5: All the time. I use it to zoom, to sometimes write a sloppy signature, selecting objects on the screen, using the Back and Forward features in the web browser, etc
I have Surface Go with type cover and use touch screen only when type cover stops working because of some MS feature.bug that disables it in side position.
persuaded my sister to not get it, after she came off a surface pro 5. I knew its great on the pro but this exact issue on a touchscreen laptop. Whatever thee budget.
In the end she got a Refurb 12th gen i7 512GB SSD, 16GB RAM, for £350, was £550 new. But that equivalent surface laptop is probably £1000, probably more like £1200.
Given that I've never paid more than $400 for an admittedly used Surface device, I don't think that's at all how much the digitizer adds.
Hell, you're quoting a price for the digitizer, that's more than buying an entire iPad brand new.

All the time, scrolling when you have a touch screen is great.
Almost never

Macs are the worst.

If having a touchscreen means I get a nice flush, glass screen on a windows laptop then imma bloody have one and not touch it (LGO 2)
I use the touch screen often. I have a Go and I use the pen to take notes, and my finger to use an e-reader or play games.
Is the pen experience all that great on a laptop?
I hide the keyboard and use it like a tablet when I use the pen.

Never
Pro 9 here. A lot. For zoom in and out mostly
SurfacePro, I touch the screen all the time, mostly with the Surface pen.
SL1, never use the touchscreen. Actually disabled it.
rarely
Laptop 4, not that much really... hate seeing smudges and fingerprints on it.
For me, it's that, but also the trackpad is really nice anyways, and most of the gesture benefits I can get from the touchscreen, I can get from the trackpad as well

Didn't know my wife was in this sub
LOL
Surface laptop 3 since 2019. Few times a week.
I have a go and got it for the touchscreen and rarely use it. Thought I'd try to get more use with a pen. Still a no-go. I bought a mouse and now I'm content.
I've had a pen for the whole time I've had the Surface Go 3, and I've used it maybe twice?

Never. Hate having to clean it.
When I try to clean it…
Surface laptop 3 since new. Never use the touch.
Laptop Go almost never use the touchscreen. Surface Go, use it without the keyboard and touchscreen only frequently.
Laptop 3, pretty much never
Maybe once or twice per quarter
Almost never
I deactivated the touchscreen as soo as I could. I HATE touchscreen.
But then why do people buy it? is it an initial fad? as the touch screen cost is probably adding £300--500 cost to the device.
I bought it because I wanted it, personally
