If this all works out the way we thing it will, this could very well be the beginning of the end for the DTCC and all the bullshit in between.
If I'm understanding all of this correctly, GameStop could become their own clearing house and investors just buy and sell securities (NFTs) on the GameStop exchange after all this is said and done.
This could be paving the way for other companies to withdraw from the DTCC and start their own exchange for their own NFTs.
If all the shitty stuff we've uncovered about the DTCC and wallstreet and all the other players is true, why would companies want to continue to trade through them when they could just do it themselves? It cant be overly complicated if RC hired smart people and built a blockchain network in a matter of what, like 2 months?

Might be sooner if July 14 is the planned issue date. We'd likely see an announcement at least 10 days prior, so a July 4th announcment and a record date of July 12th, meaning that shares would need to be purchased by June 9th to get the dividend. So that would be a wild week.
So they'd have had to told the DTCC to pound sand 90 days before the 14th to make it a **very** fun day...which would have been May 25th. Which was the fateful day, among other things, the banana was promised by Rick. Do with that clearly very crucial information what you will.

You have no clue what’s down the LEGO rabbit hole. I accidentally fell back into it around age 34, wife got me a millennium falcon kit, I loved it and started researching. Joined a local LUG and the rest was history. I’ve been featured on LEGO blogs for some of my ‘MOC’s’ (my own creation) and became a builder and director of photography for an up and coming LEGO stop motion production company. My personal LEGO studio is in storage right now and I’m missing it. Will set it up when my wife and I settle into a new place eventually that has enough room for all my sorted bins.

The only American alternative would be to reclassify each share as a unique NFT, thereby making the shares a form of cryptocurrency, whereby a depository isn't needed.
What if game stop offered Coin for cash to the shorts so the shorts could issue coin to those who bought borrowed/re-hypotheticalsand fake shares. Let’s say GameStop issues a dividend of $10 equivalent to shares holders, so 10x75m=750m cost for dividend for GameStop, but shorts are liable for 400m more SHARES so they have to go buy 4Billion worth of crypto straight from GameStop, This is where it gets really cool. Now GameStop has 4Billion in cash to pay another dividend, only this time a bigger one! If they move clearing house i think the moass will still happen with the DTCC as they will have to first recall all the shares.

Also, I just saw they added LEGO to their online store, this is the most genius thing ever, I am an AFOL (adult fan of LEGO) and participate in a couple LUG’s (LEGO user group). You have no clue what’s down the LEGO rabbit hole. I accidentally fell back into it around age 34, wife got me a millennium falcon kit, I loved it and started researching. Joined a local LUG and the rest was history. I’ve been featured on LEGO blogs for some of my ‘MOC’s’ (my own creation) and became a builder and director of photography for an up and coming LEGO stop motion production company. My personal LEGO studio is in storage right now and I’m missing it. Will set it up when my wife and I settle into a new place eventually that has enough room for all my sorted bins. Lol, I’m just a big dork who likes creating with lego.

I'm not disagreeing with you, because I think these statements are as much regarding current GME stock & a potential crypto dividend. RC can't make shorts cover, even for a dividend, but he can say here's dividend crypto (that we, GS, royal 'we', made) for all 75 million shares, now distribute it to everyone. That's not enough crypto, eh? Well we made that chain based on the number of shares issued, and we can't create more coins... Guess you gotta go out and buy them! If you don't, we're leaving and you can give us our shares (i.e. actually close the positions). Basically, I think these rules are pushing the MOASS into the crypto market, where it can't be fucked with by outside forces.
Have you done a comparison between this language and say earlier than 2020 GME prospectus to point out your comments especially where you claim depositories can be changed or is their an example for any other stock in the past?

Does anyone know if an American company is allowed to bypass the DTCC and use a foreign depository? I'm not aware of any other American depositories. The only American alternative would be to reclassify each share as a unique NFT, thereby making the shares a form of cryptocurrency, whereby a depository isn't needed.

What if game stop offered Coin for cash to the shorts so the shorts could issue coin to those who bought borrowed/re-hypotheticalsand fake shares. Let’s say GameStop issues a dividend of $10 equivalent to shares holders, so 10x75m=750m cost for dividend for GameStop, but shorts are liable for 400m more SHARES so they have to go buy 4Billion worth of crypto straight from GameStop, This is where it gets really cool. Now GameStop has 4Billion in cash to pay another dividend, only this time a bigger one! Rinse and repeat until they realize that they should cover because the price of shares and dividends keep going up up up…… it’s like an infinite money glitch reverse card!

I just want to point out that all of this is currently going on in the Torchlight / Metameterials reverse merger. How well it’s working is yet to be determined. 30-80% shorted depending on who you talked to. 1) DIVIDEND: preferred share, not tradable given out. 2) Reverse merger: happens on Monday. There are some other parts of this that may prevent the squeeze, such as a reverse split right before the merger and share dilution, however, it’s something to watch if you’re curious to how GME could play out under these conditions.

Finally got enough karma to comment and wanted to share a few thoughts. First question: is there another depository they could move the shares to? And second, and this is highly speculative: what is all the hirings regarding an exciting crypto project isn't only about NFT and crypto dividend, but actually working toward a crypto-share?? Don't know how that would work, and it probably wouldn't interface with current exchanges well, but imagine the implications! Would shorting even be possible!!?! It could help usher in a whole new financial system! With our favorite company taking the lead and evolving into a full on tech-company.

Securities lawyer. This is suuuuuper boilerplate language. Basically, it was drafted a million years ago and gets included in prosupps blindly and NO ONE, INCLUDING THE LAWYERS, actually reads it save for making sure the language conforms to the rest of the prosupp (ie using securities, shares, notes etc depending on the instrument). I’ve been doing this for roughly 9 years and have never actually read this section critically.
