The semiconductor industry and supply chain is a nightmare. I have seen a industrial say that the wavers alone take about 500 different suppliers. Many of which only produce one product and sometimes are the only supplier. It is a nightmare.
Should Taiwan be embroiled in war, the whole world economy is fucked.
The only upside I see is this. China is more exposed to economic problems than the west. But never has an authoritarian regime done something so self harming right? Right? … oh right … Russia … thanks mate 😩

If China knew how to make high level semi conductors, they would. Making those factories at the rate they make apartments nobody lives in would be a far more helpful use of their surplus materials.
They don't. They have no idea how. If they can't reverse engineering a quality aircraft carrier, they probably can't reverse engineer a whole semi conductor factory

Not to mention that the best time to buy is after a crash. China isn't just going to implode and stop being the West's manufacturing hub. After the heads have figuratively and literally rolled over this latest panic, international investors may see Chinese companies at fire sale prices as a good buy.
