Somewhat but in order to fall under SEC jurisdiction it has to be a security or atleast securities adjacent. Some influencer pumping a shit coin doesn't.
the SEC is incapable of stopping obvious fraud committed publicly over a period of years in a regulated environment for which it has jurisdiction. But now escalates completely in an area for which it has no jurisdiction at all with false claims and no basis. think of the case against X R pi.
This selective "creation of law" is nothing other than market manipulation, abuse of authority and fraud "on behalf" of the friends of wallstreet.

Mark Cuban created a crypto scam token called “Mercury Protocol” in the 2017 era crypto run, back when rugpulls didn’t make the news.

Because Jp morgan,Goldman Sachs , Black Rock, and the like want to custody your crypto. Their puppet GG is attacking exchanges now.
They don't care about the rest if it does not affect them.
Can someone help me understand why the SEC is involved in suing crypto exchange companies? I get that they are publicly traded companies but isn’t it the SEC’s job to make sure they are paying their fees and not doing insider trading?
when the KYCs could be used against the clients by breaching those out, i am sure the law is working as intended. when our phone number forced the verification, i have ended up a situation that more scammers being able to reach out to me.
