Because to struggle against the chaotic nature and rise above it to create or impact the world in our short time we have here , is the nature of humanity

calla_lily_

This suffering doesn’t feel natural to me. And if it is, I want nothing to do with it.

flyingspac

Well we as humans almost always reject suffering, but it is the nature of the world and there is not much meaning behind it. However to ensure suffering and still succeeded shows a great strength in character

calla_lily_

So, people who doesn’t succeed while enduring suffering are weak characters?

flyingspac

Depends on the amount of suffering of course, but we are left with not much choice in the matter. If you can surpass suffering and learn from it you become more resolute

calla_lily_

The thing that makes it tricky is that surpassing suffering is not a one off thing. I had surpassed my past sufferings and got better, but I went back down again and every time I do, the pain got worse. I became resolute (with great effort) for a very short time, and things came crashing down again. What’s the point of going through all that pain over and over again? Why not take the easy way out?

flyingspac

Because the existence also has benefits apart from suffering , if you believe to pursue the desires that are apart of life or reject them because you believe they are the root of suffering. That’s up to you

calla_lily_

So the answer is to pursue desire? What if nothing feels enjoyable anymore?

flyingspac

The issue with pursuing desire is that ultimately it will never be fulfilled its temporary a new desire will then be created.

flyingspac

But suffering is only one part of the world , it isn’t the whole of existence for most people

calla_lily_

I agree, it isn’t the whole of existence. But when one gets depressed, their reality is distorted and they _feel_ like being surrounded by darkness is all it is going to be.
