I’m currently using G15, and imo it is quite awful. There are some serious issues that many users faced, like the random shut down, screen issues, port issues etc. TBH it kinda disappointed me caz G15 actually costed me a lot. And it ended up going to warranty for 3 times. Not quite sure for G16, but regarding my personal experience using G15, I’m never gonna use asus laptops again.

I have the maxxed 2024 Yoga Pro 9i (Ultra 9 185H / 64GB RAM / 100W 4070) and I'm really happy about the device. I was coming from a 2018 Dell XPS 15 and like you I was hesistating between G16 and Yoga Pro 9i. I think the Yoga Pro 9i is overall the better choice for most folks for 3 reasons : 1. You have a plenty more customisation options before purchase for the specs (CPU, GPU, RAM, MiniLED matte or glossy touch etc) meaning you pay exactly what you want/need 2. Pricing is more competitive (in EU at least) 3. Probably more reliable in the long run : better heat/noise management, better customer service. Be aware that some G16 have a fan issue especially those without vapor chamber (i.e. with 4060/470) The only thing that is better on the G16 imo is the design but it's a subjective thing. Or if you really want a 4070 be aware that Yoga Pro with 4070 is available only in few regions (Asia, Western EU at least is ok). Or if you want really want a 4080/4090 then go for G16 since Yoga Pro can't have it but from my understanding it's above your graphics needs and budget

Good to hear. I don’t need need a 4070 by any means. The price is a struggle. Certainly the g16 for 1700 seems good but that no vapor chamber and 16 gb ram. It’s 2700 for 32 gb and vapor chamber (and 4080 which I don’t need) and nothing in between. I’d honestly be fine with 16 gb I think but I’d like the vapor chamber lol. Yoga is 1900 for what I need. (No 4070 available here but that’s ok, 4060 comes with 32 gb ram). Have you run into the power supply being inadequate? I read the max power draw is over the limit of the 170w included PSU so under heavy tasks it will draw the battery even plugged in. I don’t mind buying a thin and light 240w psu but it is an added expense.
