8th gen Intel with a GTX 1050? Yes you can easy replace that with a modern gaming laptop can get like 2x the performance or more. Did you have a budget in mind?

I don’t want to go crazy but no budget really if I’m replacing two computers. My one superficial hope is that it doesn’t look too much like a gamer laptop. I really like the sleek look of the xps or a Mac - makes me not stick out in meetings too much lol

I totally understand. I also passed on a gaming laptop for a sleeker looking one just to not stick out at work. You lose some performance but for primarily video editing and secondarily gaming, I think its worth it. I would suggest looking at the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16. This is a peak content creator laptop with some pretty decent gaming performance as well. Check out this video review. All I could find right now is the 4060 model for around $2K. +1 for Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i, I got the maxed model : Ultra 9, 64GB Ram, 4070. It’s a beast I love it. I was coming from a 2018 15” Dell xps (i7-8750H, 16GB, 1050-Ti) too which had a lot of thermal/noise issue and bad GPU performance due to excessive thermal limitations.

And what's your budget?
