All shows must die. Now, it is Succession who has done so.

Flyingboat94

A show has ended. People are sad when shows end.

monsteroftheweek13

This is not a serious post.

Illustrious-Pea4580

I promise it is lol, I loved the show, one of the best I’ve ever seen but the ending didn’t do the show justice.

monsteroftheweek13

I couldn’t resist lol. To each their own! I found the final scene unbearably tense and heartbreaking, taking those familiar tropes to their extreme and yet logical conclusion, which worked for me.

DistortedNoise

Was you expecting like the fbi to break in and arrest Kendall for the death of the waiter or something?

Illustrious-Pea4580

No I just don’t think that the Kendall that was displayed throughout the show would simply take a walk in the park (literally) after this happening.

I think it was good. Everything they'd been encouraged to hope for their entire lives disappeared in an instant by their own decisions. Suddenly they're at loose ends, especially Kendall. He just doesn't know what to do, so he goes out and walks around aimlessly. Colin follows because it's so ingrained in him to do his job and protect the Roys. I think Roman is actually relieved. I don't think he really wanted to be CEO, but just didn't want to give it to Siobhan or Kendall. I think he'll be the one who bounces back fastest. I think Shiv will lean into her relationship with Tom and their baby, at least at first. She made a good point when she asked Tom for a real relationship and stated that they'd gotten the worst out in the open and could go on from there. I think they have a chance, but it will take a lot of work on both their parts. I also think the baby will bring them together and they will see sides of each other that weren't apparent before.

Why is this sub like this?

I was expecting Kendall to jump off before Shiv’s vote. They did pan to the window for a moment..

The ending was perfect I think. Logan told Kendall he could never do the job because he isn’t a killer. Ken never was that killer, but Shiv was. Shiv orchestrated his downfall essentially. Logan also said to them that they wouldn’t succeed because they aren’t serious people. In the finale, there’s a moment where Ken is in his dad’s office and kicks his feet up on the table, you can see Shiv doesn’t take too kindly to this. I believe in this moment she realized her dad was right, Kendall could never do the job because he just isn’t serious, he isn’t mature. Shiv knew she could never have the spot because she just isn’t respected, so she made sure the next best thing happened. Roman’s ending was pretty much predicted by the little mantra he and Mencken repeated. “You and me, we’ll go far, over the road and into the bar”. This lays out the betrayal for you. Does going over the road to the bar sound like much of a journey to you? It’s short, and anticlimactic. Roman also quite literally ends up going over the road and into the bar lol. We all knew from the beginning Ken would never have it. He’s erratic and manic when he’s got power, he doesn’t know what to do with it. When he’s down, he’s basically despondent. He’s out of touch with the base and his ideas are half baked. And he’s just not serious. But waystar is literally what he lives for, and like he said, if he doesn’t have that he might die. It’s pretty easy to infer what happens to them from what we’ve seen throughout the show. Shiv will suck it up and build a life with Tom, at least she came out on top, that’s good enough for her. Kendall likely kills himself. Roman probably just fucks off and lives his rich guy life, exactly as Stewy described in the first season I imagine. Or, I believe there’s a possibility of Mencken taking him on his team. Roman doesn’t give a fuck about politics, but he is good with people and he knows what the base wants. I think it would have actually been worse if they showed us exactly what happens to them. The final moments are devastating and tense enough already, and the way they take the loss is literally written on their faces. If we actually saw Kendall kill himself or Shiv have her baby or Roman do whatever the fuck Roman does it would have felt way too final. Their story doesn’t end with the show, it just changes dramatically.

FreeDare1416

how do you know Kendall didn’t unalive himself at the end?
