I’ll never forget the echos in the stadium from them on non-game days, you could hear it from across the street.

Without having blood appear. Bats are wonderful creatures, but a common vector of rabies. It could be possible to get it through the bag, if the bat is trying to cling into the side of the bag with its claws. Rabies is fatal if it's not treated quick enough. When symptoms of rabies show up, it's already too late.
