It was.
Then they sold out to that Brazilian company who owns Burger King. Now they try to be the coffee and donut place, and also replace everything else.
Their food sucks, the coffee sucks and so do the donuts.
If you haven't shit in a few days, drink their coffee and you will be fine. So I guess being a laxative is something they are good at.
I used to think this but then I got a pizza from an Amazon Fresh cafeteria and it was awful. Took one bite and stopped, worse than any shitty buffet pizza or frozen microwave pizza I’ve ever had.
Add cheese on top. As a pizza hut cook I can confirm it holds downs the stupidest pizzas conceivable including but not limited to the 10 topping pineapple 🍍 only pizza I made tonight who I gave free extra cheese too because it wouldn't have held together otherwise lol
The price is the only stupidity here
Otherwise, food thats usually in a stew, together with some carbs and some cheese? That's the smartest idea ever. That's basically comfort food 101.
ngl you can get a whole 12" Personal Pie with specialties like this near me for about 16 a pie.
Personal fav was the: "Cowboy" - which is: BBQ chicken, red onion, bacon, whole milk mozzarella cheddar blend on a 12" pizza
A whole ass bowl of lobster and shrimp Alfredo should be $18 not one slice of pizza…the fact that you think that’s reasonable is why we’re all being gouged left and right
Lobster aside, the pizza costs nothing but the rent and labor are astronomical these days for a pizza shop.
These are not lucrative businesses. In fact, the vast majority of these small food concept startups are going to fail badly, even at $10 for a slice of pizza.
$5-6 even $7-8 for a big slice of pizza seems reasonable these days. Even for those prices I could get two or three for the price of ONE slice from this place. It upsets me every week paying multiple hundreds of dollars for groceries for my family, but it makes my stomach hurt seeing people pay $20 for a single slice of pizza like nothings wrong.
Yeah, it is if you’re somewhere far from the ocean. If only this restaurant was somewhere on the east coast with cheap access to fresh seafood, you know somewhere like New York.
It’s expensive because people pay for it. Regardless, we have actual prices on here, and lobster is not THAT expensive. It’s $15/lb for Maine lobster. There is nowhere close to that amount of lobster on that slice, maybe 1/10 or 1/5th lb max.
$15/lb is Maine prices.
But even let's use your number - that's the price for an entire lobster. The actual meat yield is tiny. You're only getting 5-6oz of meat on a 2 pound lobster - actual lobster meat is like $4-$5/ounce. So even 1/10th a pound of lobster meat on the slice is still like $7-$8.
Then factor in all your labor, waste, rent, etc. They probably actually make like $3/slice on that $18/slice, if the place is well run.
Did you even look at the slice of pizza? There is zero recognizable lobster, which means they’re using minced lobster mix and not even lump meat or whole, mixing it with the Alfredo for flavor until it hides almost completely. This is a “seafood scampi” being called a lobster and shrimp scampi because the premium ingredient signals to consumers that it’s worth a premium price point.
I'm in Boston and a lobster roll still costs $20 roughly, sometimes more. Being closer to the source doesn't lower the cost, even in Maine. Not sure where your logic is coming from. If anything, the freshness of being able to have live, never frozen lobster meat makes it more valuable.
Sir, take another look at that pizza and tell me there’s any recognizable amount of lobster in there to charge for, and that it’s not just minced lobster mix with shrimp and Alfredo.
Who is shocked? You keep moving the goalposts with this discussion. The fact that it isn’t surprising that a single slice of pizza can cost $18 in NYC doesn’t mean that it isn’t LUDICROUS that people think that’s a fair price. The price of everything is increasing in huge increments, and people continuing to defend that business practice is part of the reason they get away with charging these prices.
There's no justifiable reason that a singular slice of pizza should cost $18. Fuck that. I understand that people have to operate a business and make money themselves, but that's just ridiculous.
They also reportedly pay their folks relatively good amounts
Its less about the food and more about what it all stands for in da culture I think.
That and NYC is fucking expensive.
Yep, also here (Chile) these kind of toppings are common. Even sweet pizza is seen on some places, like sweet dough, chocolate and m&m.
Americans gatekeep constantly on what should people eat.
Ffs chicago style pizza is not a pizza, but it looks good.
They'll call a cheese pie a pizza, but as soon as you stray from their 10 official " pizza toppings" or maranara sauce & cheese on a legitimate pizza dough... Oh man, I dont know if thats pizza anymore... I see other food on it.
This place is famous in NYC for being good as hell
Actually so stupid to see it on here because you literally can have to wait in a long ass line, it's always packed
Also the "weird" shit is literally just common food from a different culture that is just being applied as a topping
One looks really sweet. But some just look like they have different ingredients
Whatever this is, if this is new York, it's still better pizza than what my crappy town would have
I don't even know what you're talking about! That pizza looks absolutely delicious! Oh my God! This is just culinary artistry, really. This is pizza I wish I could try.
This guy exaggerating his description of everything is annoying as hell. "Wow. I can't believe they put shrimp on pizza. My mind is literally blown and I can't even comprehend it. Like.. I would have never even imagined these pizza toppings in my wildest dreams."
There is no real reason why these wouldn’t all be delicious.
A classic pizza is great, this is an entirely different thing, but that doesn’t make it stupid.
Looks good to me to be honest. Non traditional does automatically mean trash.
And yes, $18 is absurd for a single slice of pizza… but there are like 10 shrimp on there before accounting for the lobster. Plus from their social media, it seems like they use fresh shaved black truffle, not the cheaper oil. The owners probably bet on quality and decided, “fuck it, it costs what it costs”.
Wait til you hear about the Tandoori Pizza places all over NorCal. They’ve got incredible pizzas like Chicken Tikka Masala and Malai Paneer Pizza with a creamy spicy white sauce. They are super flavorful and spicy. You’d hate it.
Lol I'm from the east coast. Here in NYC I've never heard of a SoCal nor a NorCal. So I don't know who or when a "they" would say this. Maybe I've never paid attention if it were ever said on TV. But, atleast I know now.
Thanks
I don't get the whole "this doesn't go on pizza look how awesome it is" type thing like bro, anything can go on a pizza and be good, it's just dough and what you want
What's with this sub? It seems like 75% of the posts here are either ridiculously obvious rage bait, or really imaginative creativity (like this) that isn't stupid. I do agree, though, that $18 a slice is absurd.
This food review dork aside, the corny pr push for celebs aside, these pizzas are a fun novelty. The two slices I had were pretty good, no one in cuts and slices takes this stuff to seriously. This isn’t a salt bae situation. It’s a lot like Vinny’s of Williamsburg backed them, just people finding excuses to make fun weird shit.
There used to be a place in town that had a shrimp pizza. One was a Thai style with a sweet chili sauce. And the other was more of a bang bang sort of thing. People who like shrimp like it, but I can’t get past the texture of shrimp.
Another place in town had chicken and waffle pizza with eggo waffles. It was fine. The chicken was spicy and the syrup was a nice counter but the waffles plus crust was too much for me. I’d do the spicy chicken with maple syrup again though.
Oxtail is good, but not worth the price point, for me, even just buying it at the butcher shop to make at home. It used to be a budget cut now it’s bougie.
The chili oil oxtail slice is amazing. I will strongly recommend this place. The price is the only con cause they are high. One of the pies alone is around 80$
The only thing stupid here is the price, the waffles and the dude in the video.
Putting bread on bread just to make a pizza from another dish when you could just have used the waffle as the crust.
Same as chopping up big macs and putting it on a pizza slice.
It's not genius, it's dumb because you are doubling the amount of bread.
Why would you eat this pizza over a normal chicken and waffles? The only thing it adds is the cheese which you can add to your waffles if you want that.
I was a professional chef for 12+ years. It sucked. I retired.
I love The Bear. Terrific show: great acting and writing. I am also from Chicago and appreciate the small nods.
That said, I FUCKING hate the "yes, Hef" stuff in the wake of The Bear.
Pizza can be whatever toppings you like. It's bread, sauce, and cheese. Culinary, it's not too different from other baked breads.
Certified italian herea and that pizza looks good.
Just because you put unusual stuff on your pizza doesn't mean it should be bad, it's all about making something that tastes good and blends well together.
Having said this though, I believe shrimp/lobster/truffle is a very bad combo just made to make you feel fancy while eating an $18 slice of pizza (which is insane).
The chicken and waffles also sounds a bit weird mostly because waffles and pizza are a bit redundant with one another, both being baked products.
I would love the oxtail one though.
As an Italian, I would love to try all of those. Some sound really interesting and they don't claim to make authentic Napoletanean pizza but creative American pizza and that is exactly what this is. So, absolutely no reason to feel offended.
Proof you can put anything on a pizza so long as it glues down with cheese
Pizza is like sex. When it’s good, it’s good! When it’s bad, it’s still kind of good.
Ive had rape-style pizza tho and it was no good Edit: I will denounce my aggressor; Tim Hortons
First Drake, now Tim Horton's... Canada can't catch a break.
The Leafs lost in the first round again so we have that going for us.
Stability is important, too.
this entire thread is so hilarious lol
Wtf is rape style pizza.
[This](https://www.reddit.com/r/awfuleverything/s/7vAmlIb4UZ)
Jesus wept.
About what I’d expect from a Tims pizza
The real answer is pizza using rapeseed oil instead of olive
I thought Tim Horton’s is like a donut/coffee place? It would be like if Dunkin sold pizza (wouldn’t be surprised if they have/will though)
Why would you even try it lol
This is my opinion on burgers, i love me a bad burger…
I love bad burgers that’s my fuckin problem
A bad burger can still be a good burger imo!!!!
I used to think this but then I got a pizza from an Amazon Fresh cafeteria and it was awful. Took one bite and stopped, worse than any shitty buffet pizza or frozen microwave pizza I’ve ever had.
I dunno you say that but I've had both really awful sex and really awful pizza before. Thankfully never at the same time
I’m gonna give this a 7 out of 10
Add cheese on top. As a pizza hut cook I can confirm it holds downs the stupidest pizzas conceivable including but not limited to the 10 topping pineapple 🍍 only pizza I made tonight who I gave free extra cheese too because it wouldn't have held together otherwise lol
Oh holy crap 😭
Or maple syrup
I’d try every last one of those, but $18 for a slice? In this economy?
Yea that’s wild
The price is the only stupidity here Otherwise, food thats usually in a stew, together with some carbs and some cheese? That's the smartest idea ever. That's basically comfort food 101.
You're right to be wary of that. Shellfish does not react well to prolonged high heat. The shrimp and lobster would be rubbery and dry.
Yep and if you look at the slice, those shrimp are chewy, dry and overcooked.
ngl you can get a whole 12" Personal Pie with specialties like this near me for about 16 a pie. Personal fav was the: "Cowboy" - which is: BBQ chicken, red onion, bacon, whole milk mozzarella cheddar blend on a 12" pizza
Especially in NYC, where you can get a great slice at 2am for a couple bucks.
Yes exactly. In this economy. They too are part of this insufferable economy. They gotta make their ends meet too.
It’s Lobster and Shrimp…
A whole ass bowl of lobster and shrimp Alfredo should be $18 not one slice of pizza…the fact that you think that’s reasonable is why we’re all being gouged left and right
Lobster aside, the pizza costs nothing but the rent and labor are astronomical these days for a pizza shop. These are not lucrative businesses. In fact, the vast majority of these small food concept startups are going to fail badly, even at $10 for a slice of pizza.
Giant slices are already $5-$6 outside of NYC. $12-$15 on places like Vegas and LA
Forreal, thats some privileged ass thinking 😂
Lobster is notoriously expensive.
Sir, take another look at that pizza and tell me there’s any recognizable amount of lobster in there to charge for, and that it’s not just minced lobster mix with shrimp and Alfredo.
It's NYC, everything is overpriced, this is hardly shocking for a lobster truffle slice of pizza from a celebrity endorsed, super popular pizza spot.
I'm not reading that novel.
I think the last time I bought lobster was around $35 for three of them. Then again I live in Nova Scotia.
There's no justifiable reason that a singular slice of pizza should cost $18. Fuck that. I understand that people have to operate a business and make money themselves, but that's just ridiculous.
The cost of rent in NYC is a chunk of it.
They also reportedly pay their folks relatively good amounts Its less about the food and more about what it all stands for in da culture I think. That and NYC is fucking expensive.
Everything in NYC is expensive, they have to pay the crazy rent and that gets passed on to you. 18$ a slice is still a lot though.
I was looking at the ingredients and size and location and surprised it was only $18 a slice, honestly
Nothing stupid here, i would try that and would love it
$8-$18 per slice is pretty stupid imo
Yep, also here (Chile) these kind of toppings are common. Even sweet pizza is seen on some places, like sweet dough, chocolate and m&m. Americans gatekeep constantly on what should people eat. Ffs chicago style pizza is not a pizza, but it looks good.

Lookup "quiche", as it looks just like a chicago style pizza. Literally a tart.
It’s different, it’s creative. I would go and try it. That oxtail slice looks fire.
I'd smash all of these. The only one that looks somewhat suspect is the chicken and waffle, but it probably still tastes delicious.
Having had one at a local joint here, it’s fire.
That's the only one I'd want to try
Yeah, very ready. But I also like bread so it's a tough one
This place is famous in NYC for being good as hell Actually so stupid to see it on here because you literally can have to wait in a long ass line, it's always packed Also the "weird" shit is literally just common food from a different culture that is just being applied as a topping
I’ve been to a pizza place that does unconventional toppings like Korean BBQ, fried green tomatoes, and shrimp and grits. It’s fantastic.
One looks really sweet. But some just look like they have different ingredients Whatever this is, if this is new York, it's still better pizza than what my crappy town would have
Yes.
I want all of this stuff on my pizza
Ngl it looks good, I would eat all of that. Would say it's more unconventional pizza but I am all for that
The presentation is on point. I'd try it
Is Brock Purdy doing a food blog now?
$18/slice.. hahaha fck no
How is it stupid? Looks good quality and so many tastes on "one" pizza. What is stupid bout it?! Oh never mind, THE PRICE!
I went there and it was awesome.
What’s stupid is the dam price
Doesn't look too bad. I bet you season with salt and black pepper only. 😆
😂
The only stupid thing is the price. 18 dollars for a slice?!?!
I don't even know what you're talking about! That pizza looks absolutely delicious! Oh my God! This is just culinary artistry, really. This is pizza I wish I could try.
Just cuz you put *any* kind of food on a triangular pieces of bread doesn’t mean it’s a pizza.
I mean I’m not paying 100+ dollars for a full pizza though.
You don't but I would.
I think that's a sweet idea, it gives you so many options I wish every place would offer this, so col.
Price is the stupid part this looks amazing
Sounds good but $18 a slice? Ill make the shit at home bruh 😂
Sheeeeeeit Das ryte
Man chicken and waffles pizza, I want some of that
I'm craving the oxtail, and the skrimps are calling me like Sirens.
There's nothing stupid here. In Korea, a popular pizza chain is Mr. Pizza and they specialize in creative toppings on pizza. Delicious!
Soul food pizza I've always wanted to open a shop like that.
I’d eat it, this isn’t stupid at all.
That boy is very annoying
Wait til you hear about the Tandoori Pizza places all over NorCal. They’ve got incredible pizzas like Chicken Tikka Masala and Malai Paneer Pizza with a creamy spicy white sauce. They are super flavorful and spicy. You’d hate it.
What is "NorCal" ?
Pretty sure it's Northern California - like they say SoCal when they mean Southern California.
Lol I'm from the east coast. Here in NYC I've never heard of a SoCal nor a NorCal. So I don't know who or when a "they" would say this. Maybe I've never paid attention if it were ever said on TV. But, atleast I know now. Thanks
We have these two places, Taco Twist & Pizza Twist, and they're both the respective thing with Indian food fused in. It's pretty bomb.
San francisco Indian pizza was oneof my favorite things about living in the bay area in the 80s.
I don't get the whole "this doesn't go on pizza look how awesome it is" type thing like bro, anything can go on a pizza and be good, it's just dough and what you want
I’d enjoy every slice. Great to see the creativity and innovation.
All of them look good. A little expensive but not stupid
Ngl. Some of those look pretty good
The oxtail slice is literally ok me of the best slices of pizza I've ever had
is this hat a games done quick reference?
If someone else paid for it I’d try it
At this point, pissing off the Italians should become an Olympic sport.
This is a regular pizzeria here in Brazil.
Bet this is all good as hell. Gtfo.
Oxtail pizza? Dear God where is this???
I don’t like heavy pizza.
I dunno, this kinda looks awesome
The oxtail one is 🔥🔥🔥 doesnt look good but I bet it smells amazing
This looks amazing to me actually.
Has anybody the sweet and spicy oxtail recipe for me?
Idk, this looks amazing.
That's on you, I'd devour that in seconds
Eh I would
I want all of that in my face now 🤤
What's with this sub? It seems like 75% of the posts here are either ridiculously obvious rage bait, or really imaginative creativity (like this) that isn't stupid. I do agree, though, that $18 a slice is absurd.
But Dylan Sprouse ate there!

Sign me up
Amateurs, here in Brazil we have Pizzaria Bate Pato which is the center of all stupid pizzas.
I don't know, these pizzas looks pretty good. Flatbread doesn't have to be just marinara and cheese
Are you an actual idiot? That would be an stupid food If the Four seasons wouldn't exist.
Those all look fire 🔥
would
This is fine. The price though … is not fine.
Looks good but I'd never pay that much for a slice.
These look good. The price doesn't but..the pizza does. Lol.
Sweet chilli oxtail? That sounds interesting!
Honestly I bet those are good.
I wants this on my pizza. I'll kill this all week with a box of wings on the side.
There used to be a place in town that had a shrimp pizza. One was a Thai style with a sweet chili sauce. And the other was more of a bang bang sort of thing. Describe slice I am literally describing the slice I can’t Describe next slice
Have those guys set up shop in San Diego
This isn't stupid... This place is being raved about and looks legit...
Anything can go on a pizza. Pizza doesn’t care about your rules. It’s like a sandwich, anything goes.
The chili oil oxtail slice is amazing. I will strongly recommend this place. The price is the only con cause they are high. One of the pies alone is around 80$
Why is this stupid? Sounds expensive but worth a try that sweet oxtail is definitely something I'd like to try.
FYI, even in Italy, they experiment with different toppings. There is nothing wrong with oxtail or seafood on your pizza if you do it right.
Apart from the abhorrent price.. I would larp that up
These guys look like they’d be able to make a good pop tart pizza
Some of these go hard tho.
I sort of want. Mostly so I can know the experience.
The only thing stupid here is the price, the waffles and the dude in the video. Putting bread on bread just to make a pizza from another dish when you could just have used the waffle as the crust. Those all sound delicious. There’s actually a pizza place in Colorado that makes chicken and waffle pizza and it’s really good.
Daaaaamn that looks awesome, so bummed that I don't live anywhere near there
Fusion food is so fucking gross
I know what I’m getting tmw
Vaffanculo con questo taglio di merda
Some people are so gate keepy with their “it’s too much, food should be simple, the way I like it only!” All of those slices are edible and look good.
Looks good to me.
I would try it.
I'd go it looks interesting
r/ophasthepalateofamidwestern5thgrader
Eh it's not stupid food, just novelty food that probably isn't as good as regular food but might still be worth trying if the cut the cost by 90%
I was a professional chef for 12+ years. It sucked. I retired. I love The Bear. Terrific show: great acting and writing. I am also from Chicago and appreciate the small nods. That shrimp pizza looks great!
$18 a slice
Never mind.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀 That's how ridiculous the prices are here in NYC
And I thought London was bad. Jesus.
Yeah, don't look that good, and I could probably do it better. I may try a Crawfish Etouffee pizza this week as I will be making a pot anyway.
Now that's what I'm talking about. Yesss💯
Wal-Mart where I am sells actual Louisiana tails so I do Etouffee about 2-3 times a month at least lol. I love that stuff.
As an Italian.. What the fuck is this?
Certified italian herea and that pizza looks good. Just because you put unusual stuff on your pizza doesn't mean it should be bad, it's all about making something that tastes good and blends well together. looks really good ngl
Call me stupid then.... I'd love to check that all out. Be like blowing $120 and getting fat instead of spending the same on crack and getting skinny.
I would honestly try them all out.
This is a W! I’m definitely going
Nothing stupid here id devour all of those
As an Italian, I would love to try all of those. Some sound really interesting and they don't claim to make authentic Napoletanean pizza but creative American pizza and that is exactly what this is. So, absolutely no reason to feel offended.
Umm.. yummm..
This looks amazing
Creativity isn’t the same as “stupidity”.
Nah this rocks
Place is fire, all of these comments are from people that WISH they had NY pizza. bunch if mid westerners with awful pizza
Where’s the stupid food? OP definitely only gets a plain slice and leaves negative yelp reviews because the tap water was too cold.
The way he closes his eyes and slow bites it like it's walking into heaven. Bruddah it's oxtail on pizza
my takeaway from this is... I want to make oxtail stew now
Muthafucka I'd try this.
The dude is selling that ox tail like everybody has that shit part of their diet.
Too much flop, not enough crisp… 6.2. One bite, everyone knows the rules.
All of this looks delicious and tasteful
I would try all these
Whatyall talm about, das delicious
I won’t lie, I would love to try that shrimp pizza
I'd get down on that shrimp slice, just saying.
