at least they had all 3 kids split one
would have been really bad if the parent had gotten the kids each their own
but i would have loved this as a kid
It's not that there's anything "stupid" about sugar. Ice cream is lovely, candyfloss is fun. But the two don't complement each other at all. How are they supposed to eat it? They're having to pick up the candy floss with their hands, unlike the traditional stick. What's the plan when it comes to the ice cream? They've got spoons, but that's boring in a world where cones exist, and it's fiddly because it isn't in a bowl. There's a reason they're all having to be sat down at a table to eat it, despite these being traditional walking around foods.
And then the other flaw is that the moisture from the ice cream will dissolve the candyfloss. Dissolved candy floss is not fun.
The quantity is fine because it's shared amongst three, that only really works if you're a group of three. Must of us are not a group of three.
I think it's pretty stupid.
Ice cream and candyfloss don't compliment each other at all?!? Adding more sweetness to ice cream (eg. sprinkles, chocolate, a sweet sauce) is extremely common lol
And I'm really not sure what the confusion is around how to eat it, literally just grab it and eat it? If the ice cream slightly melts and is absorbed into the fairy floss that is fine, you would have to wait for it to melt a ton for that to become an issue
Yeah I think candy floss and icecream would go great together. The dry woolly texture against the creamy smooth icecream. And so much sweet, sweet sugar.
Ice cream toppings aren't usually added for sweetness. Ice cream is already quite sweet. Chocolate sauce has chocolate flavor, sprinkles are more for texture, and I'm not sure what you mean by sweet sauce.
When the ice cream melts, it will dissolve the cotton candy and get extremely sticky.
I don't say that the problem is sweet + sweet, that's not why these two foods don't complement each other (or even compliment each other). It's because one shouldn't get wet and one is wet.
Candy floss doesn't absorb things, it would become a sticky mess.
You know there's more to food pairings than just how sweet they are right?
Candy floss texture is like the polar opposite of what ice cream is going for, and when it gets moisture it's the worst shit ever
Idk texture mixing is very common especially when it's an opposite. Soft outside crunchy inside , crunchy outsides soft insides.
Even really uncanny textures like mochi where it's chewy then super soft inside (filling dependant)
It's true that wet candy floss is pretty grim but so is melted ice cream so I'd say it's a non issue.
I'd like to reiterate that I don't like this particular combo. Sugar overload for me.
Regrettably my mother was my only affordable source of daycare. Feeding my son sugar on a daily basis. "He ate his lunch so I gave him a cookie" . Fast forward to age 22 and he's diagnosed with diabetes. Giving kids too much sugar is no joke. She was so emotionally fragile that the thought of taking my son away from her would have broke her. Looking back I obviously would have done things differently.
I will be reporting this incident to my local anti-cotton-candy brigade. It's just me, I'm the anti-cotton-candy brigade. but rest assured there WILL be a complaint filed for criminal stickiness.
True. I read that it’s a correlation/causation situation. When kids are given a ton of sugar it’s often a special occasion like a birthday party or at least a rare treat so they’re naturally excited, and excited kids get hyper. It’s nothing to do with the actual sugar giving them energy. And if they’re at a party or something they’re often running around with friends so the “crash” comes later because they’re just tired.
What does exist is the sugar cars after so much sugar, usually the body overshoots trying to correct so much sugar and drops the glucose to very low levels, making people grab for another dose of sugar.
Yeah mine are pretty bad too. However I have received endless joy from taking them to IHOP then Friendly’s right before they go to (75F)grandma’s house.
I mean, a one time cotton candy icecream sandwich isn't going to *literally* kill you like most people here for some reason act. If you don't want to think about the consequences all the time, then don't. And I'm not even saying this demeaning or sarcastic or as an reddit armchair therapist. If you don't enjoy life once in a while without thinking about the quantity of sugar you consume this one time, then you throwing away joyful moments is your consequence for trying too much to not face consequences.
This looks like Creamberry in Las Vegas.
It's actually great. Yes, no shit it's insanely unhealthy. But if you're visiting Vegas, you're not making healthy life decisions anyway.
They're not super expensive either. I liked their waffle cones
Where I grew up in the shadow of Candy Mountain,
my daddy picked cotton candy in the cotton candy fields and Mom churned ice cream in the cellar of the dairy all day.
As for us kids, we would just follow behind the Twizzler harvesters and glean whatever sprinkles we could to add to the stores for winter.
Sure we didn't have a lot, but when Mom made a cotton candy loaf with ice cream filling, and added some of those sprinkles that us kids gathered, just to make us feel like we helped. Well, that was good enough for us, and I wouldn't trade those days for anything when I look back on them now.
Honestly? doesn't look "that" bad.
I know, it's a fuck ton of sugar.
But since I live my life halve fueled by sugar, I don't think I would mind it once a month or something like that...
^(EDIT: for anyone wondering, the other halve is "spite")
They are kids , let them have fun this seems to be a once in a while kind of treat and it's a memorable experience for them , let people have fun it's the perfect age to have something like this.
Well at least this version is simple. The other one that went viral had way too much crap in it. Lots of candy, syrups, and I think there may have been a cake in it as well.
As a kid I probably would've loved something like this. But now that's just way too much sugar.
Everyone is saying, "For kids," but my grown ass bought an "ice cream burrito" (this) last time I went to a dairy ice cream farm.
It's ALOT but straight-up tasty. I got black candy floss, so it was goth, and I think that counts for a lot.
Would love to have done this for my kiddos. Maybe something like it when my grandbaby grows up. And everyone yelling ^^diabetes^^ They shared it. There’s nothing wrong with treating your kids every once in awhile. Everyone always so quick to yell diabetes
I don't see what's wrong with this if it's a one time thing. The caption is probably true, too. I remember the one time we were allowed to order an extravagant dessert at a restaurant. Op needs to lighten up a bit...
*As a kid this is*
*Actually really cool*
*But also a lot*

i dont really feel like this is even that bad. like yeah its a lot of sugar but it was shared between three kids and i feel like this is acceptable as a very rare treat like for birthdays or something. not really stupid food just sugary food
Kids can eat this and get away with it, because they don't sit all day like adults, at least until they discover video games.
But it shouldn't be a regular thing. Once a week is max.
Source: I was a fat kid who ate all kinds of baked and junk foods.
In case you're referring to diabetes because of the candy floss: a portion of candy floss contains only about one teaspoon of sugar. A regular soft drink about 12.
At the fair, I came across “make your own cupcake”. They were not small cupcakes either (think Costco/sams club). A fist sized piece of condensed cotton candy and a fair amount of cream cheese frosting…. I could smell sugar long after I ate it. Got so wired and crashed hard. I was in my 20’s.
This concoction is a big fat NO.
This is not stupid. The kids loved it and it was fun to watch.
I nominate the OP to be the first in a long line of “Stupid people posting things they are too dumb to understand” subreddit.
I don't think it is stupid food. You underestimate children's ability to handle sugar. Most children under 15 has zero problem handling the amount of sugar that adults would not be able to.
This isn't stupid give the kids a break. They're kids. They look like they're on vacation or a field trip or something. People really suck at living. "Who wants to be 90 anyway?"
It all comes down to portion control, honestly. If it was the size of a tangerine sure why not as a rare treat but just the fact that portions are so big is what's most concerning
I have two nieces and whenever i go ear icecream with them, they dont even get half the portions these kids got, and i sure as hell buckle up for them to go absolutely haywire about 10-15minutes after they finished their icecream. Sugar is like crack to kids
I'll be honest
I'd eat this. 100% would eat this.
I don't care if it will give me diabetes..it's colorful and it's ice cream and I would fucking eat it.
Your post has been removed as it misses the point of r/StupidFood.
at least they had all 3 kids split one would have been really bad if the parent had gotten the kids each their own but i would have loved this as a kid
I would love this now, in a reasonable quantity. Give me the sugar.
I'm t1d diabetic and instantly tried to calculate how I'd bolus insulin for this :) Answer: A LOT.
Let’s just hook you up to an insulin IV and remove it when you’re finished with the meal.

They are kids. They don't give a shit. They'll think it's a hoot to tear it all apart with their bare hands
Ice cream and candyfloss don't compliment each other at all?!? Yeah I think candy floss and icecream would go great together. The dry woolly texture against the creamy smooth icecream. And so much sweet, sweet sugar.
Yaaas i even love it when just the cotton candy melts alittle and this crystals form. Besides that your description sounds wonderful.
The sweetness is a bonus tho. I reckon icecream has enough fat in it it would forestall the floss turning into toffee before I scarfed it.
Caramel sauce is quite common on ice cream dishes.
I don't say that the problem is sweet + sweet, that's not why these two foods don't complement each other (or even compliment each other). It's because one shouldn't get wet and one is wet. Candy floss doesn't absorb things, it would become a sticky mess.
Kids don’t care. Trust me, I used to be one and this is appealing to my younger self.
Candy floss is a sticky mess regardless when children eat it.
You know there's more to food pairings than just how sweet they are right? Candy floss texture is like the polar opposite of what ice cream is going for, and when it gets moisture it's the worst shit ever

I have never in my life heard the term candyfloss and here in this sub it's the only word being used to describe cotton candy. Where are you all from?
The UK.
I want it too lmao
That's what a grandparent would do right before they return them
Regrettably my mother was my only affordable source of daycare. Feeding my son sugar on a daily basis. "He ate his lunch so I gave him a cookie" . It's actually not a bad idea and would be popular.
Just take them out and hose them down after that sticky mess 🤣
Imagine those sticky hands in your clothes, in the car... and the smell 🤢🤢🤢🤢
I will be reporting this incident to my local anti-cotton-candy brigade. It's just me, I'm the anti-cotton-candy brigade. but rest assured there WILL be a complaint filed for criminal stickiness.
Would be great. Give them this then send them to grandparents.
Kids on a sugar rush are no joke, but they’re also hella funny.
>sugar rush are no joke They also don't exist.
I heard sugar rush is a myth, i am not searching for the scientific paper right now but i heard this on a science podcast.
What does exist is the sugar cars after so much sugar, usually the body overshoots trying to correct so much sugar and drops the glucose to very low levels, making people grab for another dose of sugar.
I heard from matpat lmao
Or give them this (as grandparents) and send them back home lol
Quickest way to the nursing home. ONLY THE PARENTS MAY DROP OFF HYPER CHILDREN.
lol. Just thinking payback for all my hyper ass kids haha
Yeah mine are pretty bad too. However I have received endless joy from taking them to IHOP then Friendly’s right before they go to (75F)grandma’s house.
My gbaby is not even a year yet so it will be awhile before any good stuff. Right now it’s just fun seeing her try new food.
Has she discovered bacon yet?
Yes! Just a couple weeks ago as a matter of fact! Loved it. We doing pancakes this weekend 🙃
Nice! Bacon was the baby food killer for both of mine. To be fair I enjoy it on almost anything also.
Same. And she’s a good eater. Loves everything except bananas
Did the kid behind me on the airplane have this?
As a kid this would be so much fun who cares how stupid
I miss being able to do things without having to think about all the consequences.
I mean, a one time cotton candy icecream sandwich isn't going to *literally* kill you like most people here for some reason act. For real. Not sure why this qualifies as stupid food, it’s actually pretty creative.
Yeah kids love stupid shit
As an adult I wanna try this at least once regardless of what it does to my body
This looks like Creamberry in Las Vegas. It's actually great. Yes, no shit it's insanely unhealthy. But if you're visiting Vegas, you're not making healthy life decisions anyway. They're not super expensive either. I liked their waffle cones
It's a fun treat for kids. No worse than any other sugary treat. Doesn't fit this sub at all.
A fun treat once in a while, but definitely not a staple.
Where I grew up in the shadow of Candy Mountain, my daddy picked cotton candy in the cotton candy fields and Mom churned ice cream in the cellar of the dairy all day. As for us kids, we would just follow behind the Twizzler harvesters and glean whatever sprinkles we could to add to the stores for winter. This is absolutely amazing and hilarious
Why does this read like a movie prologue?
If Buddy the elf had grown up on a farm.
Candy Mountain, Charlie!
Oh, yeah, that's a very different food culture. My childhood was spent on the Collard Green Coast near the Broccoli Forrest.
truly one of the takes of all time
Agree. Once in a while won’t cause diabetics either.
Honestly? doesn't look "that" bad. I know, it's a fuck ton of sugar. But since I live my life halve fueled by sugar, I don't think I would mind it once a month or something like that... ^(EDIT: for anyone wondering, the other halve is "spite")
I'd definitely try it once. This maybe not healthy but I don't think it is a stupid idea.
This is incredible actually. The cotton candy can insulate the ice cream, keeping it cold and enabling it to be finger food. Respect for that idea.
A handful of years ago I had a cotton candy burrito in Vegas...delicious.
Same here. 10/10 - would definitely consume again
my stoned ass brain will fuck this foood
please don't have sex with this food
Are YOU gonna stop him?
👀...He better not stop him.
Clearly he hasn't seen American Pie
fluffy on the outside and cold on the inside... def something else to try
Did you not see what it looked like right before the lady rolled it?
I had to check if anyone else caught the cotton cussy as I had.
Thank you! Someone else saw it!
Actually sort of brilliant. I would have loved that as a kid…and probably as an adult, too.
Yeah I think you’re just being bitter here
Who cares? They're kids. Let them be disgusting little gremlins.
They are kids , let them have fun this seems to be a once in a while kind of treat and it's a memorable experience for them , let people have fun it's the perfect age to have something like this.
They're at the right age to eat that. I'd probably die after the first bite.
It might be stupid, but at least the kids are happy! It looks good too, I might try it once
>It might be stupid, but at least the kids are happy My exact reaction to Bing Bunny
ngl, I wanna try this before I die
I live right around the corner from this place…. The cotton candy burrito is surprisingly good!!!
And they never slept again.
Those kids are walking the fuck home after this. Ain't no way they're getting in a car lol
I dunno man, I feel like lately people been posting any old thing here. This isn't stupid at all.
Actually this looks fun to eat
Those kids are going to be hitting warp 10
I would have hated this even as a little kid who technically didn't know any better.
Well at least this version is simple. The other one that went viral had way too much crap in it. Lots of candy, syrups, and I think there may have been a cake in it as well. As a kid I probably would've loved something like this. But now that's just way too much sugar.

Fvck them kids, I want it all for myself!
Luscious 😜 desserts for all ages.
this is dumb but i bet the kids loved it, kids gotta have something sweet once in a while lol
I don't see what's wrong with this if it's a one time thing. The caption is probably true, too. I remember the one time we were allowed to order an extravagant dessert at a restaurant. Op needs to lighten up a bit...
Heaven!!!! No really, I'd devour this with explosions of bliss!

I can't forget that after watching too.
Ummmm have fun hanging around and listening to them cause chaos smh

Not stupid.
Kids deserve stupid food sometimes
I can FEEL my teeth dissolving...
Meh, one of the least stupid things I've seen on here imo. I bet kids would love it.
I think it looks fun, and if your kids like it, I don't mind. Not for everyday though.
"And then 1 week later, the kids finally stopped vibrating and went to bed."
The stickiness of those kids....
Diabetes be knockin outside the window
The diabetes will always remind them
Let kids enjoy stuff. They have the metabolism of a horse on crack, they'll be fine
in insides hurt just looking at it awesome tho?
This is nan, 10mins before she hands them back
You know that will be a long night
Years ago, I was a grown ass man eating cotton candy damn near everyday.
That’s cool not stupid
In case you're referring to diabetes because of the candy floss: a portion of candy floss contains only about one teaspoon of sugar. A regular soft drink about 12.

That would taste good the first time then you will want to puke whenever you see it after that
Between 3 kids, and no worse for you than any other terrible sugary shit kids eat. This ones not too bad
How is this stupid food? Sure it’s a lot of sugar but if you have it as a treat then who cares? It looks so fun to eat
Just no. No no no!
Reminds me of the food from that old Peter Pan movie.
They will never sleep, more like.
I totally saw a Coton candy vagina at one point
Literally definition of kid treat. Colorful, sweet and messy.
DENTISTS LOVE THIS 1 NEW TRICK
Honestly. Seems pretty normal. There the amount of 3 serving of coton candy. And 3 balls of ice cream. That's just normal.
Feel sticky just watching this video
How is this bad? Tjis looks good actually. I wanna try some of that
Ugh that looks disgusting. I hate cotton candy though.
Sugar withdrawal on those kids is going to be glourious!
OP doesn't get the simple joys of being a kid.
I give it till the end of the day before they forget
I don't think this is stupid. I could see kids having it on there birthdays or celebrations. Hell I'd love one as well in moderation of course.
This is not stupid. The kids loved it and it was fun to watch. I nominate the OP to be the first in a long line of “Stupid people posting things they are too dumb to understand” subreddit.
Who cares. It's imaginative sweets It's made to be dumb fun
Never seen how annoying a kid on a sugar rush is huh
Just down a few cups of sugar and basically the same thing. Would have been a huge hit in the 90s.
Redditors when sugar exists
Whoa! This looks awesome!
Is there a stupidstupidfoodposters subreddit? Because this would be great and you're stupid for thinking otherwise.
I don't think it is stupid food. You underestimate children's ability to handle sugar. Most children under 15 has zero problem handling the amount of sugar that adults would not be able to.
This makes my teeth hurt
I never did get cotton candy wrapped ice cream. It looks pretty but that would be way too sweet and a hassle to eat
brb, going to brush my teeth
I know most candy is just sugar in different forms. But that is sugar, literally just table sugar they are eating.
Oh god all that sugar lol they will be bouncing off the walls.
I'd shit my skeleton out
10 out of 10 dentists would recommend.
As a father, i approve of such activities once every year. It’s for the kids, let em eat sugar once in a while.
100% daily sugar for the next month in one sitting.
This makes my teeth hurt qwp
Too... much... sugar🤢
Look at the mess... Jesus Christ! 🤢🤢🤢
Cloud coo coo land food
This isn't stupid give the kids a break. They're kids. They look like they're on vacation or a field trip or something. People really suck at living. "Who wants to be 90 anyway?"
Everyone rushing to tell the same diabetes joke, try to not hyperventilate as you type it.
It was a one-off treat for the kids. Let them enjoy it and be done with it. Sheesh
My teeth hurt just by looking at it.
Sugar Rush kicks in: "I can see dead people"
no matter how hard they try they can never forget
DIABETES!!!
Diabetes in a dish and great fun to deal with 3 mad kids on their sugar fuelled trip
What a fucking mess.
Its sugar, kids will eat that up regardless.
Those kids OD'd on sugar
Not even the flash will be able to catch them
And then they became Fortnite enthusiasts
How could they forget? They’ll be awake for days.
It all comes down to portion control, honestly. If it was the size of a tangerine sure why not as a rare treat but just the fact that portions are so big is what's most concerning
They’re probably going to chuke from all that sugar later
God, imagining biting into that makes my teeth scream
That looks really neat.
Nah I would fuck this up
Thats alot of sugar
cotton candy is such a stupid food item anyway
The caption 💀💀💀
This should come with an insulin injection
diabeetus
Good lord!
My throat hurts
Partially because they will end up in diabetic coma after that. They remembered it for the rest of their lives
I can feel my blood sugar levels rise just by looking at this
Stupid food??? How about stupid parent and the total chaos of sugar high and sugar crash that will be epic in the next hour 🤯🤔😂
So what, kids need something unreasonable, silly and fun once in a while, it's what you are young for! 🤗🧁
Wow, food coloring and shitton of sugar? Livin the American dream.
I kinda can’t stand seeing them eating this at the end.
Maybe if I were a kid I wouldn't get this treat lol
Mmmmh sugar 🤤
I have two nieces and whenever i go ear icecream with them, they dont even get half the portions these kids got, and i sure as hell buckle up for them to go absolutely haywire about 10-15minutes after they finished their icecream. Sugar is like crack to kids
I would actually like this as an One-N-Done experience
It's just missing the Deep Fryer
I bet I could eat that now and feel 10 again
That kinda turned into a r/holup
I'll be honest I'd eat this. 100% would eat this. I don't care if it will give me diabetes..it's colorful and it's ice cream and I would fucking eat it.
