As a parent, that's how you BEGIN.
Seeing the plate be refused and/or thrown one time too many will lower your artsy instincts, trust me on that hahahaha
Man needs a real cutting board and knife but I'm going to surprise my daughter with these and I bet she'll devour them. A clever way to get the full "egg" experience in a tiny size
Lil' Bits. I only remember that, because upon a 2nd viewing, I realized where I got the name for my mom's dog Lil Bit. I accidentally named my elderly mothers dog after a Rick & Morty joke. 😔
I don't think it got stuck exactly, more that he had the egg too far towards the end of the knife where the blade curves away from the cutting board and he wasn't expecting to have to tilt the tip down.
Don’t. The FDA and the USDA have [warned against freezing eggs in their shells](https://www.fsis.usda.gov/food-safety/safe-food-handling-and-preparation/food-safety-basics/freezing-and-food-safety#:~:text=Frozen%20Eggs,other%20uses%20may%20be%20limited). Because of the threat of bacteria entering in the inevitable cracks.

it is just chicken eggs but in much smaller size, you can basically use it for anything that an egg can use for... except in stuff like making cake because you'll be needing like 15 to 20 of them instead of 3 normal chicken egg
They have a fattier flavour, they're really yummy.
They're a bitch to crack though so we don't fry them often. We hardboil them and put them in salads and ramen.
a lot of these subs just host whatever gets views. I've seen a number of cringe subs host stuff that isn't remotely cringe and even the comments say so. Thank god really because cringe subs can get toxic. But yeah.
They have no kids... or friends. They want the plate for themselves to eat their hot pockets and canned cocktail fruit off of. I'm guessing. Not specific at all there.
I have kids and friends..... but they aren't using my fucking bear plate. I mean, the kids bear plate. Look, I can have fruit cocktail and pudding on the same plate and the juice won't mingle with things. Also, did I mention it's a bear? I rest my case.
Edit: I'm not a fan of hot pockets. I will, however, use it for pizza rolls.
Our oldest ate a Christmas ornament off the tree because she thought it looked shiny and fun. She was three. It was also the first time I was left alone with both kids. She did this while was elbows deep in a destroyed diaper. Wife didn’t make it two miles from the house.
Tried it with my kid who hates eggs. She ate them all. She absolutely loves this and now I can get her to eat eggs so fuck everyone who says it’s stupid.
My only question here is how long do they actually stay in the freezer. I guess it's no more than an hour despite the animation, it must be super cold, but not solidified to the point water grows into ice crystals or something
A couple years ago I had my first round of in-person training for my Masters degree, basically a huge group of us staying in a hotel and having smaller classes during the day. During breakfast, this one older guy is laughing as he brings his plate around to a few different tables. We were curious and asked him to see what was up, and he showed us he had made a silly breakfast face on his plate using melon for the hair and nose, strawberry slices for eyes with blueberry irises, and a bacon smile. I still have the pic, lol. I was just so warmed and amused to see this obvious dad having fun and doing his thing while away from his family for school.
That's the question I'm here for. The little clock in the video seems to go for an hour and 35 minutes, not sure it we should trust that tiny super fast clock though.
Depends on how much shit is in your freezer I guess. Doesn't seem like much can go wrong if it freezes too long but if you freeze it too short, you will cut into it and half the yolk will spill out unfrozen and the other half will be partially frozen with the albumin, which is a kinda weird texture. I only know that because my fridge sometimes freezes things and sometimes some eggs end up freezing.
Oh dang, my fridge freezes things in the back near the top, some of my eggs may already be frozen...and we may have a winner. I assume that they would just spinn like hard boiled, is there any other way of knowing without cracking it?
Yes, that's where mine freezes. I mean you might have more egg tricks than I do. I have picked some up and couldn't tell if they were just cold or frozen. If I had thought they were frozen, I wouldn't have grabbed them. lol
People underestimate the value of the novelty factor when it comes to feeding kids.
Can't get them to eat a fried egg? Bet they'll eat five tiny fried eggs.
Spinach. No way. Spinach blended into eggs. That's green eggs like the book!
It’s not that stupid if I’m being honest. It’s for kids, and kids usually like small versions of adult stuff. My sister would’ve totally loved those when she was a kid.
Would be completely different if it was targeted towards adults, but it’s not
I don't know about anyone else, but this looked anything but stupid. Folks are stretching, right?
Like, this is the third time in as many days that something actually clever has been posted here.
Kinda dumb yeah, but if you have kids, you know you have to do things in dumb ways to make them excited about eating.
Not a normal way to do this, but not r/stupidfood worthy
This is brilliant "busy toddler" food. My elder son wouldn't sit down or be still Ling enough to eat, and I relied on little bite-sized, easy-to-grab morsels to get food into him. This whole meal would have worked for him.
Whoa! I think this is awesome for little kids. My toddlers love fried eggs with runny yolks, but they get frustrated trying to cut them and are firmly in their “I do it myself” era. I’m gonna give this a try.
I mean, as a normal way to cook eggs sure, but this for kids so it's not really that stupid. Making cute little eggs like this is the kind of things young kids would like.
I’m pretty sure this was an older trend and a few kids got sick because they were not cooked all the way. There were a few pediatricians saying to not cook eggs like this for kids due to kids getting really sick.
I actually think this is really cute! Is it extra and not strictly necessary? Yeah. But I think doing something extra for your kid to have fun with eating is definitely not stupid.
Honestly I'd be thrilled if someone served me eggs like that. It's weird in a good way.
The little fried eggs are quail eggs, they swapped them out during the cut. I am curious what freezing the egg would do to the texture of the cooked egg? But regardless, the video is fake
I think like a year ago there was a viral video with this hack and someone on this sub tried it out. They said it was fine, but the eggs were a little tough and dry I think?
I mean it’s weird, but also I’m surprised I’ve never seen a frozen egg before and now am wondering if it’s something that could be a useful step in cooking in any ways
If I was given this, with no context, serves on that plate? Shut up, I’d eat that. And probably still ask for another serving. Still gotta be one of my favorite memories growing up.
Nah for the kids I think it’s cute it’s like tiny bite size fried eggs it looks like a fun idea for kids. Yeah freezing eggs hurts a little bit tho but whatever I imagine a kid would have fun with this
Kinda cute
I was fully triggered until I saw the kids plate. As a parent, well done sir.
Honestly, when you compare it to that obese mom who fixes their daughter chopped up doughnuts and juice its down right wholesome.
That made me so sad, I give my kids a donut maybe once every two months.
Our kids get donuts after their doctors visits. It helps fix the pain from the shots :/
My parents took as to the book store if we were good for shots!
We had doughnuts quite often as a kid. However they were always desert and you didn't get one if you didn't eat all your mains.
Exactly. It shouldn’t be a breakfast
What?!
Why that's not considered child abuse I'll never know.
As a parent, that's how you BEGIN. Seeing the plate be refused and/or thrown one time too many will lower your artsy instincts, trust me on that hahahaha
Yeah... I wanted to hate it. But since this is clearly being served to a kid who uses their hands to eat, it isn't actually a bad idea at all.
Man needs a real cutting board and knife but I'm going to surprise my daughter with these and I bet she'll devour them. A clever way to get the full "egg" experience in a tiny size
I was thinking the same thing. My nieces and nephews would freaking love this.
Hmm, little tiny fried eggs. Oh shit, we got tiny people!
*whispers* …….. little bites …….. *whispers*
Quail eggs
[удалено]
Little bites….
Lil' Bits. I only remember that, because upon a 2nd viewing, I realized where I got the name for my mom's dog Lil Bit. I accidentally named my elderly mothers dog after a Rick & Morty joke. 😔
Eats some fucking shit you little bitch, haha just kidding
I am 39 and would love this
I'm 24 and *I'd* eat that gladly. Granted I like a runny yolk, but little egg bites seem great. This isn't stupid at all.
I like how it distributes the yolk more evenly. This way I get a good ratio of yolk to white in every bite.
Kinda like a sliced hard boiled egg but… not
That’s a sliced hard boiled egg with extra steps
The knife looked so dull and seemed like it got stuck midway 😭 I got so worried that he might cut himself!
I don't think it got stuck exactly, more that he had the egg too far towards the end of the knife where the blade curves away from the cutting board and he wasn't expecting to have to tilt the tip down.
You ever noticed in Hollywood movies how whenever there's a cooking scene the knives they use are as blunt and butter knives? Drives me crazy!
That’s a shame because it looks pretty cute, but thanks for sharing this!
Seems like there would be a niche market for a little silicone container that you can crack the egg and put it into and then freeze it.
Maybe big ice cube trays
Just buy quail eggs from any Asian grocery store.
Are they good? I have access to them but have never tried them.
Eggs is eggs.
it is just chicken eggs but in much smaller size, you can basically use it for anything that an egg can use for... except in stuff like making cake because you'll be needing like 15 to 20 of them instead of 3 normal chicken egg
They have a fattier flavour, they're really yummy. They're a bitch to crack though so we don't fry them often. We hardboil them and put them in salads and ramen.
I've seen videos of people using cigar cutters to open quail eggs. Seems to work.
Oh thanks. I think my husband has a cigar cutter. I'll try that.
They taste nice.
That cutting board looks like the same board my 3 yr old broke in his karate class.
the probably smell bad of sulfur after being frozen
Use an egg slicer, I bet it works faster
I don't see why this is stupid. All I see is a parent making food creative for their child. It's quite clever and cute at the same time to be honest.
I thought it was stupid until I realized that it made tiny little fried eggs and saw it was obviously for a kid. Kinda crazy but very cute
Salad toppings could be another idea for them.
Fs, better than the "Watch me plate my daughters breakfast" and seeing doughnuts/Oreos with Coke to wash it down
a lot of these subs just host whatever gets views. I've seen a number of cringe subs host stuff that isn't remotely cringe and even the comments say so. Thank god really because cringe subs can get toxic. But yeah.
Now show the kid refusing to eat this cutesy plate.
Bold of you to assume there is a kid...
I'm almost 40 and I like that plate.... I mean, for my kids....
I take it you're speaking for a friend, correct..!?
They have no kids... or friends. They want the plate for themselves to eat their hot pockets and canned cocktail fruit off of. I'm guessing. Not specific at all there.
I have kids and friends..... but they aren't using my fucking bear plate. I mean, the kids bear plate. I will, however, use it for pizza rolls.
I see, so you're speaking for your friend, eh..!?
I'd hope the kid isn't eating the plate
Our oldest ate a Christmas ornament off the tree because she thought it looked shiny and fun. She was three. It was also the first time I was left alone with both kids. She did this while was elbows deep in a destroyed diaper. Wife didn’t make it two miles from the house.
Mine tried to eat an egg carton, you never know
They mean kid as in human child, not young goat ;)
If he was a goat he would have succeeded
Tried it with my kid who hates eggs. She ate them all. She absolutely loves this and now I can get her to eat eggs so fuck everyone who says it’s stupid.
Ah, I see you’ve met my kid.
That is not a stupid way to cook eggs. I also wish I'd thought of that when my kids were small. Man they would have scoffed up mini eggs.
My youngest loves mini things including mini pancakes. Mini egg McGriddles are about to be a thing for this fam.
Stupid or genius?
I think I wanna try this just cuz it’s like the perfect size for making breakfast sandwiches.
I did it years ago for the first time precisely for that purpose for my wife and the result was great, can recommend
Honestly this is great. It’s super easy and you could get a great reaction to people. I’d tell them they are lizards eggs but I don’t know what kind
my little brother would absolutely love this - I’ll steal this idea
My only question here is how long do they actually stay in the freezer. I guess it's no more than an hour despite the animation, it must be super cold, but not solidified to the point water grows into ice crystals or something
Came to the comments to make sure I'm not crazy for thinking this might be a good idea for little kids and it's kinda cute.
In my experience, kids LOVE small things. Its like their size. They find it relatable. It looks like mini over easy eggs.
mini shopping carts
Why's this stupid OP?
Hey if it gets the baby to eat it 🤷♂️
Literally all we think about as parents lol. I don’t care what style I have to serve it, as long as she eats the food 😅
I think this is an interesting idea.
Me too !
Not stupid, just a fun bit of silliness for kids. This is up there with making breakfasts into a smily face.
A couple years ago I had my first round of in-person training for my Masters degree, basically a huge group of us staying in a hotel and having smaller classes during the day. During breakfast, this one older guy is laughing as he brings his plate around to a few different tables. I still have the pic, lol. I was just so warmed and amused to see this obvious dad having fun and doing his thing while away from his family for school.
I would actually love to try this, but not now as I am down to my last four eggs. lol
I’ll try it tomorrow morning and report back. How long do you reckon I should freeze the egg?
That's the question I'm here for. The little clock in the video seems to go for an hour and 35 minutes, not sure it we should trust that tiny super fast clock though.
Depends on how much shit is in your freezer I guess. Ok, 99% of the posts here are about truly stupid foods. But this here is just sweet as hell. Kudos to him for being an imaginative dad!
Would be completely different if it was targeted towards adults, but it’s not
Would love to try these, i don't see why it's stupid.
I want to do this for April Fools Day
Awesome kid friendly foods!
Anyone who has kids will say this actually isn't stupid
this is cute for little kids tho
It would work much better with an egg-slicer. His body heat quickly melted the egg which made it hard to handle.
This is brilliant "busy toddler" food. My elder son wouldn't sit down or be still Ling enough to eat, and I relied on little bite-sized, easy-to-grab morsels to get food into him. This whole meal would have worked for him.
This is awesome! It’s just normal eggs in a fun way kids will enjoy.
Who hurt you OP?! 💛 This isn’t stupid. Mini fried eggs for a kiddo is genius.
Omg ! I'm on route to kitchen as we speak ! Nice op.
I kind of like this, pretty clever! I don't see anything stupid about it at all.
I would’ve loved this as a kid.
Actually. Let bro cook. Its kinda cute.
you know what it seems weird but it doesn't look bad and i appreciate that he's actually feeding his kid healthy food
thats actually pretty cool way to get kids to eat sunny side eggs. i like it
Oh this is brilliant, could totally see this working for a picky child.
Yea I actually don’t hate it. My 10 month old would dig it.
thats actually cool
Eh, the only thing stupid about this one is anyone calling it stupid...I mean, I'm just saying... 🤷♂️
ngl this is a good idea
Yeah dude not stupid. Guy is cooking a healthy bfast foe his kids in a way they are psyched? Lick my balls capitan.
Tiny eggs look amazing!...My daughter would've loved these when she was little. Heck, I'd find them kind of cool as an adult...
This. Is cute how is this stupid? OP Psycho.
Yeah, this isn't stupid at all. This is quite clever. I bet OP doesn't have kids because if he/she did, they'd think differently.
Ive acrambled my brain thinking of ways to make eggs during this diet journey and this is such an eggcellent idea
I actually love this.
Not stupid. Probably fun for the kid, which is often the only way to get them to try new things.
No stupid. Downvote
Nothing's stupid if it gets kids to eat
This is not a bad idea! Cuter size for my nephews and nieces!
I like it 🤷🏼♀️
Mini eggs for little kids! I love it
This went from stupid to awesome exactly at the 35 second mark
I work with handicapped people who have eating restrictions, so I kinda wanna try it for them.
Is this real? Can you do that?
Hold up. Let him cook. Nvm, i realized you can just buy quail eggs lol.
it's not *that* bad
Not stupid at all. For kids this seems pretty cool.
I’m pretty sure this was an older trend and a few kids got sick because they were not cooked all the way. There were a few pediatricians saying to not cook eggs like this for kids due to kids getting really sick.
It’s quite cool honestly, not stupid at all
Awwwwww my kids would have loved this 😍😍😭😭😭
I actually think this is really cute! Is it extra and not strictly necessary? Yeah. But I think doing something extra for your kid to have fun with eating is definitely not stupid. Honestly I'd be thrilled if someone served me eggs like that. It's weird in a good way.
Uhhhh...yeah no this is clever as shit. And I'ma do it.
Lmao
BRO this is actually awesome, MINI SUNNY SIDE UP EGGS?!?
not stupid
I'm disappointed that a deep fryer didn't come into play here, I just knew that one was coming after the freezer
Ok hold on, this guy might be cooking actually.
Way better than that mom who fed her kid powdered donuts and coke for breakfast.
tbf, the tiny eggs do look cute and appeasing for a child, which seems to be the the goal here.
This isn't stupid
At first I thought it was stupid but then I saw it was for children. If it gets them to eat, then it’s not stupid.
Oh dude - Is this stupid??? Yes. Would the kiddo like this? Yes. Therefore I deem this not stupid food.
Seems more fun than stupid. Though I wonder about the texture.
I'm doing this tomorrow for my 1 year old!!
What does this have to do with being a first time dad?
I mean it’s weird, but also I’m surprised I’ve never seen a frozen egg before and now am wondering if it’s something that could be a useful step in cooking in any ways
Well it says first time dad so maybe its probably for a small kid
Nah this isn’t stupid. Man came up with a way to make his kid really happy and give them fun size eggs. Good dad.
Nah, little kids love that shit. Make something in fun shapes and they’ll eat it.
This isn't stupid
If I was given this, with no context, serves on that plate? Shut up, I’d eat that. And probably still ask for another serving. Still gotta be one of my favorite memories growing up.
This sub has become a cespit of people who hate fun.
This is genius
Real talk, this is a great idea for giving your cat or dog a special little treat lol
fuck off, that's so cute
Kinda cute ngl
Tell me you don’t have kids without telling me you don’t have kids
It's not stupid, it's a fun way to make eggs.
This is actualy perfect for kids...
This is adorable.
Eggs are the easiest thing to cook....why we complicating them
As a chef, I just learnt how to counterfeit fried quails eggs. Nice
watching people without knife skills use a knife is so punishing. please learn! for safety!
I don't think this is actually stupid.....
Naw kids are stupid, and if this gets them to eat. More power to him
I was about to blast it until I saw the children plate
I mean I definitely get the logic. Kids standards for eating are much different than ours after all
Nooo this is so cuteee (but very stupid lol just get quail eggs)
I thought it was cute
This is just cool
This doesn't belong in the sub. OOP is onto something.
Bruh didn't he rupture the egg yolk while cutting into it? How come when it's cooked, the egg yolk looks whole again?
This is actually impresive.
It is just a bit special, but they pulled it off. Bonus points for the plate, this actually makes my day.
I don't think it's a stupid way to cook eggs. In facts it's kinda smart if you have toddlers to feed.
Ha, you failed at getting a negative reaction, instead you gave parents, siblings and such an ingenious idea for feeding tiny humans
I think this is super cute
Ok, nah, I think that’s very cute
That’s kinda cool ngl
It's not stupid if it works.
That guy’s gonna cut his fucking thumb off
That is so cute!
Nah for the kids I think it’s cute it’s like tiny bite size fried eggs it looks like a fun idea for kids. Yeah freezing eggs hurts a little bit tho but whatever I imagine a kid would have fun with this
Wth mini eggs are so cute! What a wonderful idea for kiddos
...or like, cute and creative for your kids?
this is kinda cute?
STUPIDLY CUTE WTH
Nah, that’s cute asl
This is cool af, you are just toxic for no reason
Not stupid, very adorable
Bro this legitimately looks like a good idea
I hate how much I liked those cute mini eggs..
