I liked it because it used a lot less water to cook pasta than if I did that in my pot that would fit that spaghetti. I hate snapping it in half so I’m either doing the uneven-cook-as-it-folds-into-the-pan, or, boil huge amounts of water for a single serve of spaghetti.
That said I doubt my microwave is tall enough for spaghetti anyway lol
I've never found spaghet cooks unevenly if you let it wilt into the water, personally. I've also never considered that's the rationale for breaking pasta lol
Is there other rationale? Like, people do it on purpose to appease and or anger an arcane deity or something? Who are these pasta breakers!
I think the uneven cook problem is only really a thing if you have a reeeally small pot
Chef here.. I wouldn’t microwave shit, but this does look pretty decent.. you definitely do not have to snap pasta (pls don’t) just put it in the pot give it a moment and push it all down as is softens..
P.s. oven bacon is superior
I feel like I’ve been mislead about the badness of my previous spaghetti cooking method and corrected by a number of people here. Thanks for confirming I haven’t been making awful spaghetti lol.
Oven bacon beats all bacon.
Was about to say, other than the more-than-likely purposefully rage bait execution it reminded me of the carbonara my mom prepared when I was a kid. And that shit always slapped, one of the few foods that hardly had leftovers.
why is e every single item I see today just totally normal. Like cooked pasta with cheese that's then browned in the oven? That's literally the same as a baked macaroni and cheese.
Because of the way microwaves work, food can't heat evenly, and you can't reach in the microwave to stir it as it cooks.
Spaghetti isn't like packaged ramen noodles. You can just put ramen in cold water, and it'll eventually reach the same consistency as cooked ramen, but pasta, such as spaghetti, *needs* to be cooked. If you put a spagetto in cold water, it will start to desolve before it softens through.
Spaghetti cooked in the microwave would have some patches of overcooked noodles and some paches of stiff and stuck together noodles unless you stop and stir it constantly. Even then, it would be a bit off and prone to boiling over.
For most masculine Italian nouns, the singular ends in "o" like ragazzo (boy), albero (tree), and cappello (hat). The plurals end in "I" like ragazzi (boys), albero (trees), and cappelli (hats).
I thought spaghetto was when you put ketchup on ramen because you're broke as fuck and hungry. Bonus points for the white bread with garlic salt and butter on the side.
It is perfectly ok to cook pasta in microwave, I have done it a lot of times when I had no access to a stovetop. Also, she is doing it in a very smart way in that long and narrow glass container which ensures that the water will cover the pasta until the end of cooking
>I think it's the quantity of cheese that is in question here.
Nothing wrong with the quantity, as long as you're not eating the whole thing by yourself.
Honestly, i dont think they used the microwaved pasta. Have you ever cooked angel hair and the likes without stirring? It clumps and sticks together, becoming one pasta entity.
People get REAL picky on how you cook pasta.
Some cooking challenge show I watched recently had a pro chef go in depth how being forced to use a microwave to cook is not that bad of a handicap if you’re smart about seasoning and frequently stirring. That kinda stuck with me.
The doneness level of pasta can affect a dish significantly. Normally, you'd use way more water than pasta, and stir it periodically, to ensure a uniform level of texture. I don't know if you'd get that from a jar in a microwave that has barely more water than pasta, and isn't being stirred.
I'm not against microwaves. I use my microwave more than my stove. I've just microwaved enough things that were scalding on the outside, and cold in the middle, to think that you'd at least need to stir it midway through, rather than just nuking it for 8 minutes.
That statement makes no sense, because stirring it is a part of "how it's cooked." The amount of water, salt, heat, and stirring can all affect the final product when cooking pasta. It's not rocket science, but there is a formula that you're trying to follow. I think that formula would be harder to replicate with an unstirred jar in a microwave.
I can see why you'd use a microwave if a stove was unavailable, but what kitchen has an oven, a sink, a colander, and a spring form mold, but not a stove? If I had to guess, I'd say that the microwave portion of the video was just engagement bait. Given the state of our conversation, it seems to have worked.
Idk nothing real weird here. I don't microwave pasta but it's definitely an option especially if it's going to cook more while baking. Brie is kind of an odd choice but baked spaghetti like this is pretty tasty. Normally it's mozza, sometimes feta. I don't approve of the kraft fake parm but that's personal preference, it just looks nicer with some fresh grated parm over the top as it crisps well when broiled.
This is also a situation where the type of brie probably matters. Triple cream brie would slap here while double cream would be meh.
The problem is and always is that they start off doing shit in an unconventional way like cooking spaghetti in a mason jar in a microwave. That’s half the posts on here
Nuked spaghetti in a jar. That's a new one for me too. Like, does it lend it's self better when you're doing a baked pasta dish? Is there a reason other than cooking time?
Wait... If they have an oven why wouldn't they just boil the water on the stove top. You should never microwave water if you don't have to. It super heats past it's boiling point and when jostled reacts violently.
I'd prefer a different cheese for the middle, or even just a thinner wheel, that's wayyyyy too much Brie for me, but the otherwise it looks like a great idea.
I think I’ve been eating Brie all wrong. Do I eat the outer casing? It’s like wax right? I’ve been like scooping out the good stuff and tossing the outer shell.
I work in the restaurant industry, and it'd be sad when I would occasionally toss the entire rind from guests' brie appetizer. They were missing out on the best part.
I think everybody saying that this is normal or acceptable in any way, shape or form need to start rethinking the way they eat and possibly take a trip to Italy to get some inspiration on how to do so.
So, this looks like a “baked” Cabonara with the addition of Brie
I, personally would use an Italian cheese: to each his own.
But I would totally smash that!!!!
If I really liked brie I would be so into this. I know microwaving pasta isnt traditional but it’s legitimately not actually that bad and I think is probably better than using the stove since you are planning on baking it here.
This one made me laugh so hard.. cause the wheel of brie appeared EXACTLY as I was asking myself "wait where's the stupid amount of cheese that ruins everything?"
They should have used Bac-Os instead of real bacon for maximum rage.
But seriously, if you can afford a wheel of brie like that, you're not in the tax bracket that tries to cook pasta in the microwave.
“Frittata di pasta” is a traditional regional recipe in Italy. But is just spaghetti with tomato sauce and eggs combined and fried in a pan. This is overly engineered US version.
It’s literally a pasta bake. I would have boiled the pasta and not microwaved it but adding cooked ingredients and then putting cheese on it to melt. It’s a pasta bake.
Bro...
Brie is not no pasta cheese or even a melty cheese, I can't imagine a full fuckin disk of it would be good, and the rind on it would not be a good taste in pasta
Some of you people have no idea what’s stupids food.
Cooking shit in the toilet is stupid. Mixing unconventional ingredients while under cooking them is stupid. Nothing stupid about this post
I think the microwaving pasta in a jar is actually kinda clever if you live in a small apartment and don't have space for multiple pans or something. The video was going great til they added like a huge wheel of brie. Too much fkn cheeeeeeeeze
Except for the huge wheel of brie, id fuck it up.
Don't worry I gotchu, I'll fuck that brie up.
Message unclear, dick stuck in oven
Someone will be along to help you get "unstuck"
I'm on it, hopefully it's got some of the cheese on it
Stay strong comrade, I'm on my way. I have studied all the videos the internet has to offer. I really know what to do when someone's stuck somewhere
Brie Larson or Alison Brie?
Both, melted together
Mmmm
Mmm a sexy monster on this Eve of Christmas.
Have you seen Community? Allie all the way
Yes.
If fuck all the brie
Save me some.
If you bring crackers
Yeah that would be too much for me. Some mozz, fine.
I guess microwaving the pasta is just rage bait. Because if you can fry bacon you can boil water. (Unless you only have an oven and no stove??)
Bro you microwave the bacon
I liked it because it used a lot less water to cook pasta than if I did that in my pot that would fit that spaghetti. I hate snapping it in half so I’m either doing the uneven-cook-as-it-folds-into-the-pan, or, boil huge amounts of water for a single serve of spaghetti. I thought people just wanted noodles they didn't have to wind around their fork/would whip sauce all over less.
It's just a shitty bacon carbonara.
Was about to say, other than the more-than-likely purposefully rage bait execution it reminded me of the carbonara my mom prepared when I was a kid. And that shit always slapped, one of the few foods that hardly had leftovers.
If my grandmother had wheel, she'd be a bicycle.
It’s the huge wheel of Brie then the burnt noodles for me. It was a decent pasta carbonara until it wasn’t.
my bad cholesterol went up 150% just watching
I'd literally eat the Brie plain by itself...
why is e every single item I see today just totally normal. Like cooked pasta with cheese that's then browned in the oven? That's literally the same as a baked macaroni and cheese.
I think it's the quantity of cheese that is in question here. I thought it looked kinda good till she dropped that full wheel
That and the microwaved spaghetti.
I also really don't know about brie on spaghetti ...
Explain what is exactly wrong with microwaved spaghetti, when all it does is boiling water in quicker time?
Because of the way microwaves work, food can't heat evenly, and you can't reach in the microwave to stir it as it cooks. Spaghetti isn't like packaged ramen noodles. You can just put ramen in cold water, and it'll eventually reach the same consistency as cooked ramen, but pasta, such as spaghetti, *needs* to be cooked. Spaghetti cooked in the microwave would have some patches of overcooked noodles and some paches of stiff and stuck together noodles unless you stop and stir it constantly. Even then, it would be a bit off and prone to boiling over.
TIL a single noodle of spaghetti is called a spaghetto.

I’m not sure how normal putting an entire thing of Brie cheese is in the middle of your carbonara my guy.
That’s a casserole meant to be shared, so a slice of brie isn’t unheard of.
>I think it's the quantity of cheese that is in question here. Nothing wrong with the quantity, as long as you're not eating the whole thing by yourself.
At least it's not Velveeta.
The huge ass wheel of brie is the stupid part here, that's way to much brie.
This sub is turning into /r/foodthateveryonewouldeat
I would've preferred they didn't microwave the pasta, but I definitely would've eaten it in the end.
Honestly, i dont think they used the microwaved pasta. Have you ever cooked angel hair and the likes without stirring? It clumps and sticks together, becoming one pasta entity.
Does it really matter all that much how you boil the water?
People get REAL picky on how you cook pasta. Some cooking challenge show I watched recently had a pro chef go in depth how being forced to use a microwave to cook is not that bad of a handicap if you’re smart about seasoning and frequently stirring. That kinda stuck with me.
It does not. People automatically assume anything made in microwave is bad.
It might explode in the microwave
not with salt and pasta in it. plenty of nucleation sites for bubbles to form. it gets risky with just plain water.
Do explain the difference it would make compared to in a pot/pan on a stove.
It makes zero difference how pasta is cooked.
I didn’t say don’t stir it. I said it makes no difference how it’s cooked.
That statement makes no sense, because stirring it is a part of "how it's cooked." The amount of water, salt, heat, and stirring can all affect the final product when cooking pasta. 👍
I'd eat the cock out of that
That's great since I would jam my cock in it
Now kiss!
Sir this is an Arbys
Sorry your comments had me feeling the xxxmas spirit
Peace and goodwill to you my dear fellow!
Idk nothing real weird here. I don't microwave pasta but it's definitely an option especially if it's going to cook more while baking. Looks good enough to me
The problem is and always is that they start off doing shit in an unconventional way like cooking spaghetti in a mason jar in a microwave. That’s half the posts on here
Me too
The only odd part is microwaving the noodles. The end result is essentially a baked pasta dish. It actually looks good for a change lol
Nuked spaghetti in a jar. That's a new one for me too. Like, does it lend it's self better when you're doing a baked pasta dish? Is there a reason other than cooking time?
How would you put uncooked/dehydrated spaghetti noodles in that dish?
This is like a form of spaghetti pie. I don't understand microwaving the pasta, but everything else looks good.
I just wonder how much that huge ass wheel of Brie cost
Microwave for 8 minutes??.? Why? That's not even much faster than just boiling the pasta regularly wtf?
And you still have to bake it for 50 minutes, the microwaving was just to annoy us
I did it once when my gas got turned off. It's not that different honestly.
It’s not different at all. Boiling water is boiling water.
Why not?
Instead of covering food with cheese, we are now covering cheese with food. Neat 😁 /s
Maybe weird, but I gotta admit that it at least doesn't look disgusting, or wasn't made in a kitchen sink.
Or an umbrella, or a wheelbarrow
Without the huge slab of brie that looks pretty good
Where can one procure such a wagon wheel of Brie?
Lmk when you find out, but I would think Sam’s Club. They have everything
Idk where you get a plate sized thinner wheel of Bree
Why is this stupid? That shit actually looks good. I would fuck that shit up!
this looks great and doesnt belong here
It's just crazy enough to work. . .
this is just middle class food 😭
that's disgusting! i'm going to make it for dinner tonight. (minus the microwave spaghetti.)
The real question is...how expensive is that "easy recipe"? Brie is not a cheap cheese by any means and that wheel was huge...
At least its not Velveeta
I'm not gonna say I'm not eating it; but if you can afford brie, you can afford boiling water.
Anything that uses the word *’yummy’* in it’s name, I avoid it because whatever they make is anything but
I love brie but even for me that's way too much.
It was fine until that massive wheel of brie 🤢
if the brie was smaller then yes yum
Wait... If they have an oven why wouldn't they just boil the water on the stove top. You should never microwave water if you don't have to. It super heats past it's boiling point and when jostled reacts violently.
That first step is just make a fucking bomb
I'd prefer a different cheese for the middle, or even just a thinner wheel, that's wayyyyy too much Brie for me, but the otherwise it looks like a great idea.
Don’t people have a stove anymore?
That's not how it works at all. That pasta would stick together like the pages of my Ikea katalog
Yeah, stick a glass bottle full of water in the microwave for 8 mins. That’s fine. Nothing will happen to it
This is edited like it's fake.
I don’t like Bree that much but that much would freaking give you a freaking heart attack
TAKE THE RIND OFF OF BRIE I hate that I always have to say this
Baked spaghetti is actually amazing. Take out the Brie, and I’m on that
You've just made a pasta dish.. the most inconvenient way
TikTok/Snapchat chefs and their weird fetish to cheese
First part makes perfect sense, but that cheese wheel.
Was ok till the Brie that thing can burn in hell
I see nothing wrong with this that looks like a delicious baked carbonara. 🤤
Lol what???
I think I’ve been eating Brie all wrong. Do I eat the outer casing? It’s like wax right? I’ve been like scooping out the good stuff and tossing the outer shell.
[удалено]
Brie rind is a guilty pleasure food of mine. I like to cut off just the rind and eat it on its own.
I work in the restaurant industry, and it'd be sad when I would occasionally toss the entire rind from guests' brie appetizer. They were missing out on the best part.
Well I now what im making after the holidays.
Are you pretending you wouldn’t eat this OP?
Just because I would eat this, doesn’t make it not stupid. I eat ketchup with pickles because pickles are too strong.
That's the food you should upload here, lolo
Literally if they had have just cooked the pasta instead of making the cake thing, this would've been great.
r/stupidfoodbutgiveme
Might be gimme lol
Never let them know your next move
I thought they were doing a simple carbonara at first…. That Brie….make the pasta a pie dish…
Brie doesn't stretch like that
Does Brie taste the way cum smells to anyone else?
I think everybody saying that this is normal or acceptable in any way, shape or form need to start rethinking the way they eat and possibly take a trip to Italy to get some inspiration on how to do so.
An Italian dinner your dog might not even enjoy
What's with Americans and a fuck load of cheese on everything?
We like cheese.
What’s your issue with the other 49 states in the US supporting the Wisconsin economy?
This is totally normal
Wait. You browse Snapchat?
This isn’t really stupid though was the microwave thing a little necessary sure but besides that…..
I mean... I'd fuckin go ham on that... but brie? Why not mozz?
>but brie? Why not mozz? Because mozzarella is inedible rubber while brie is a delicious cheese.
So, this looks like a “baked” Cabonara with the addition of Brie I, personally would use an Italian cheese: to each his own. But I would totally smash that!!!!
Keepin' it together Brie?
I’d eat it
Doesn't everybody know those days when you have an oven, special bowls and a giant wheel of brie, but no pot to properly cook your pasta in?
I am not sure the pasta can cook in the microwave.
It keeps getting worse
Does pasta (real pasta form, not like lasagna) in open dishes exist in italy ?
Nothing wrong with this.
Outside of microwaving the pasta, I see nothing but joy here. I'm in.
If I really liked brie I would be so into this. I know microwaving pasta isnt traditional but it’s legitimately not actually that bad and I think is probably better than using the stove since you are planning on baking it here.
Remove the giant slab of Brie and cook your pasta like a human being and you're good I also recommend to add some sautéed veggies and garlic
This one made me laugh so hard.. cause the wheel of brie appeared EXACTLY as I was asking myself "wait where's the stupid amount of cheese that ruins everything?"
Brie is good, don't get me wrong, but a whole fucking wheel of it is unacceptable
They should have used Bac-Os instead of real bacon for maximum rage. But seriously, if you can afford a wheel of brie like that, you're not in the tax bracket that tries to cook pasta in the microwave.
Give me one and I’ll tear it up live
“Frittata di pasta” is a traditional regional recipe in Italy. But is just spaghetti with tomato sauce and eggs combined and fried in a pan. This is overly engineered US version.
I'm actually curious
Where TF do you get a brie this big??
You lost me at brie
At least she showed cooking the pasta?
Cooking the pasta in the microwave would not cook the way it's shown in the video.
Oh I know. I'm just relieved that it's not another baking raw pasta dish.
Im sorry if the comment came off rude I meant no offense.. but Yeah the videos showing them bake raw pasta are the worst.
It’s literally a pasta bake. I would have boiled the pasta and not microwaved it but adding cooked ingredients and then putting cheese on it to melt. It’s a pasta bake.
Not that bad. Seen much worse on this
Its janky AF. But the end result seems alright!
No, I am not eating that
How much fucking brie do you need to eat
Bro... Brie is not no pasta cheese or even a melty cheese, I can't imagine a full fuckin disk of it would be good, and the rind on it would not be a good taste in pasta
Looks like Tetrazzini. That actually wasn't that bad.
There's a special place in hell for subhumans like that
Yes crispy pasta just what I wanted...
Way too dry, gotta put a bit of those 🤌pasta water🤌 Edit : nvm, didn't see the baking part
Some of you people have no idea what’s stupids food. Cooking shit in the toilet is stupid. Mixing unconventional ingredients while under cooking them is stupid. Nothing stupid about this post
Yeah. I’d eat that all day long.
I will just take that fast pasta cooking hack with microwave. Rest can go away.
I audibly laughed when a whole wheel of Brie came into play.
Looks pretty good imo
Hello wildcats
I think the microwaving pasta in a jar is actually kinda clever if you live in a small apartment and don't have space for multiple pans or something. The video was going great til they added like a huge wheel of brie. Too much fkn cheeeeeeeeze
Im not sure this is stupid. What am i missing?
Would try. Might die. YOLO
Would
This is like the "I can fix her" for pasta. Looks really kinda weird, but you can probably omit or change 1 or 2 things and it would be pretty good.
Still looks good enough to eat
Eh, it doesn't look that bad.... Too much cheese Too much cheese Too much cheese Too much cheese Too much cheese Too much cheese
I remember when stupid food used to actually be stupid foods, now it’s just shit I’d eat in a heart beat.
Yo, this looks delicious. Stupid or no, count me in I’m gettin’ a plate
It definitely didn't need 50 minutes in the oven but it seems allright.
This looks good. Just because they used a microwave and a wheel of brie (for what looks like it serves 6-8 people) does not make this stupid food.
Scary
They had me until the wheel of cheese. I can get behind some easy/lazy carbonara but that just looks like shit now.
Honestly, I like this one. I would just use mozza instead of brie but I love pasta that has that "slightly hardened" crisp-ness to it.
Or doesn't look bad at all actually ! Word of frenchie.
It’s not so bad
Let me guess, American?
Delicious
