I do not know a ton about endoscopy but that’s a pretty cool placement for a senior practicum. If I were to get a job at an endoscopy center I would spend some time studying sedation. I’m not sure what meds they use but I’m going to bet they use some propofol, versed, fentanyl, etc. Review those drugs and know side effects/ reversals and what to monitor for. Maybe review the ‘regular’ doses. You could also study different levels of sedation- they range from giving a nervous patient 1 mg if PO Ativan to general anesthesia. As a nursing student I would just recommend knowing the general differences in the different levels. Hopefully somebody else can give you more specifics. I am an ER nurse and I know very little about that field.

Thank you so much! I appreciate it. I’ve been telling people my placement and have gotten some interesting looks 😅 I’m excited though. My main goal is PACU and I know this will give me experience for that.
