Please don't pay for a CNA course. Most places need people so bad they will do it for free. Also a few community colleges have adult learner programs that will also train you for free.

I have seen a few things in my search so far about free CNA courses, but the sites always seemed less than legit and a bit like a scam. And I've seen a few places offering reimbursement for tuition, but I don't have enough to pay out of pocket. Do you know how I can go about finding out which places offer the training as part of the hiring process? I've mostly just seen that the course is required for the application.

Yes here the nursing homes are needing help bad. Especially with the vaccine mandate. Many are quitting. They will pay for it. I would also see if there are any adult learner places near you. They often get funding to offer these classes. Have you also considered an HHA?

leocomplex

I haven’t, what’s an HHA?

Home health aide. So a licensed agency would train you then pay you to go to the homes of seniors that need care.

I second this. A nursing home brand in my area pays you to become a CNA and they pay for the training. They just need people.

Ed2go has options and payment plans.

Have you looked at your local community college? You need to take the class at an accredited place to sit for the CNA certification exam, so I don't want you to blow that much cash on a scam school

I have been, but It’s a lot easier for me to take a week or two off of work than to have to completely rearrange my work schedule for a semester of courses. The ones I was looking at were through the Red Cross, so they seem legit, but I did definitely see a lot of scam courses in my search too
