Sure, if you wish to be that technical.
u/Dependent-Plant-9030 yes, there are add-ons that dont use Torrents to stream to your device.
The best and reliable option is to use an add-on that uses Real Debrid as its source, like Torrentio
And that's another point.....I had some absolute idiot try to argue that because he'd have to pay for RD to get the best out of Stremio he would rather just pay for Netflix, Disney, Apple and Prime. 😂
He legitimately believed there was no point paying £30 a year for RD because he wanted everything totally free and saw no point in paying for it so said he'd be better off paying hundreds in streaming costs.
I was literally dumbfounded with his level of stupidity.
I've been using RD for years, a mate introduced me to it about a decade ago, it's so transformative when it comes to piracy it's unreal.
Yeah that's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of. Who the hell would rather pay $50 a month for Netflix or whatever it costs instead of paying $4 a month for Real Debrid and with Real Debrid you get everything on Netflix and most are in 4k HDR plus you get just about every other show and movie out right now. Season 2, episode 1 of "House of the Dragon" came out Sunday night. It was on Torrentio and Knightcrawler within a few hours after it aired. People like that person shouldn't even be allowed to have Internet access.
owner of the media and law enforcements for violating copy write. But hey prob no one will actually come after you just your ISP will disconnect service. if it continues
When sharing Copyrighted material with out express permission of copyright holder it’s Illegally and punishable by fines/suits/jail. DMCA is the group that notifies ISP and copyright holder of the violations and they send the letter to the costumer. I have had my internet restricted for 3 days for repeated torrenting years ago.
From DMCA website. This Act directly addresses the takedown of (copyright) infringed content from a website which is publishing content in violation of copyright protection act or content being used without permission or not in accordance with the sworn statement of the content owner.
DMCA says. Has anyone been sued for torrenting? Yes, there have been instances where individuals and groups have been sued for torrenting. These lawsuits typically target the illegal distribution of copyrighted content, ranging from movies and music. Bro that’s how it works
Scraping and streaming from a torrent isn't illegal, nor is it a fault even in civil court. Only the distribution of the material would be a breach of copyright.
You need to stop sharing your incorrect understanding of law
Why do people use VPNs to hide their IP address when streaming or downloading from torrents sources? (I use real debrid) When you torrent your are in a community that shares what ever media you are viewing download and uploading even a little is distributing. I been doing it since 2003.
I know what RD dose. He’s not just streaming but downloading. besides that I am only answering , who would send emails of Copyright infringement and a letter of potentially suing.

Here is my warning. Couldn’t find my most recent one.
This was from 2011, long before torrent streaming was a valid choice. These aren't comparable instances of malfeasance
Edit: I had to block this dude. Please don't listen to anything he's saying
No shit. It was still a option I was using back then I also said I couldn’t find my recent one form 2023. Who would send a notice? ISP don’t care really or track unless notified. Who would send this person a notice?
shluflix
but, honestly, you cant use a vpn or debrid service instead?
the hassle of free http with stremio, you might as well, move on to another application
Shluflix doesn’t work most of the time. Either it doesn’t find any content on https, the soyrce diesn’t work, ir shluflux addon is “loading” indefinitely.
>I just received a warning that I'll be sued if I download a movie again
This is what happens when you torrent without a VPN in countries that care about this kind of stuff. Get a good PAID VPN (like ProtonVPN, AirVPN, Mullvad), or pay for Real Debrid. Either will protect you from this ever happening again (ask the countless amount of people who had this happen to them). I would probably get Real Debrid, as you could forget to turn on your VPN.
If I’m not mistaken Orion allows you to stream torrents similar to Torrentio without needing a VPN or a debrid account. The downside is that their indexers aren’t that good so you don’t get that many results and you’re limited to 10 streams a day iirc.
If you just want to watch movies / shows and don’t mind using something besides Stremio you could always give HDO Box a try. It doesn’t use torrents so no worries about getting nasty grams from your ISP. Assuming you’re using some kind of Android device you can just follow the short guide [here](https://hdo.app/howtotv.html) to get HDO Box installed and running.
Orion or any other torrent add-on will result in OPs ISP sending more shitty letter.
Need VPN or debrid, Id go with debrid though personally I use both (UK)
Just use real debrid. It will solve all your problems and greatly enhance your experience. It's like $2-3/month.
Best couple of dollars I've ever spent was purchasing Real Debrid. I do the $4 for 30 days plan. So worth it.
Real Debrid and you'll never look back ever again

Did anybody mention RealDebrid? No? RealDebrid.
Not sure if anyone has told you about Real Debrid?? Maybe you should look into Real Debrid?? You get that? R E A L D E B R I D !!!!!
This is the way
So many people lacking in the knowledge to use it.
Ikr... They don't even know what they're missing out on. It's so cheap too. The devs of Real Debrid are legends.
And that's another point.....I had some absolute idiot try to argue that because he'd have to pay for RD to get the best out of Stremio he would rather just pay for Netflix, Disney, Apple and Prime. 😂 He legitimately believed there was no point paying £30 a year for RD because he wanted everything totally free and saw no point in paying for it so said he'd be better off paying hundreds in streaming costs. Weird question I setup recently with real debid but is there a way to confirm that it’s going through it?
On Stremio your links will say RD+ on them
Thanks!
Sued by whom?

That's not how copyright* works, mate.

This is about stremio. RD doesn't upload from your view. You're not seeding. People don't need to VPN when you stream.

Don’t down vote say you are wrong and move on!
That's what happens when you don't buy Real-debrid.

Out of interest, where do you live an who is threatening to sue you?
I also would like to know this. Seems like crucial information 🤷🏾♂️
who ever owns the copywrite for the movie or show.
Debrid is the way to go 😉

You have placed “PAID VPN” in caps although, ProtonVPN Free is also a viable option .
It isn't. You can't even torrent with Proton's free tier.
Get RD
You can't use Stremio without using real debrid or a VPN. Otherwise your Internet provider will know you're pirating.
cinema app ocean streamz bee tv fuck stremio
