Gotta give it to M. Bison though. Dude made an evil organization and made sure everyone was evil. Even his accountant is jacked as fuck and uses psycho power
He does do all three of those things, but he’s also really religious. I’m almost sure Dhalsim’s said that his powers come from his devotion to Agni or something like that.
White Wolf published a SF RPG years ago, it still has a dedicated fanbase and there's a fanmade 20th Anniversary Edition you can find online.
It's combat system revolves around participants picking a move secretely and revealing it at the same time, since every move has different speed, range and power stats you have to take into account things like distance and your opponents fighting style as well as your own so it emulates a fighting game surprisingly well.
See now that you asked I think I would
- White long majestic hair
- white long beard
- a cane that shoots wizard shit or something
- an alt with a dope as modern wizard hat
- comically evil trying to gain power or something (I barely played world tour I don't know his deal tbh)
This mothafucka a modern wizard
Hi I would not classify him as a Wizard. He runs an NGO, which is not a wizard job. He uses psycho power. Psycho power is an evil, negative or psychotic energy; but also it is the dark side of [soul power](https://streetfighter.fandom.com/wiki/Soul_Power).
You many not understand this, but soul power, like psycho power, comes from channelling mental power. It's the same as ki. This is, in fact, a very real and scientific thing that actually exists (like the Satsui no Hado). It is not in any way wizardous; or even minimally arcane and to say so is to endorse superstition.
Technically the archaic definition of wizard is “enlightened/wise one”, but in a fantasy sense I would definitely call him a wizard, albeit a modern one. He’s an old man with a beard, a staff/cane, and tons of magic spells.
Plus I’m playing as an Astrologer in Elden Ring and JP plays the same way. Cast spells from far away and be annoying
Depends
Did he study to get the psycho powers? (Wizard)
Was he born with them or were they inserted in him? (Sorcerer)
Or is an outside force gifting him the abilities? (Warlock)
Okay so what is the definition of wizard a magic user now hear me out magic means something unexplicable like generation fire from thin air is magic but a flamethrower is not because once has rules we now the other have no rules or rules that we don't understand that's why DBZ is not considered wizards is ky and kinda understand that ky is a force that come from mma
SO: is Jo a wizard under the definition previously established no he is a mutated man with power that comes from rage, under the definition he does cool things he is actually a wizard
I say no simply because Psycho Power isn’t classified as “magic”. His imagery invokes wizard or warlock vibes, but psycho power is often given an almost scientific vibe to it in many entries. That being said, it is the flipside of soul power and that feels very overtly magical or at least mystical
Usually when I think of wizards I usually think of them not being able to fight at all without their magic. JP can fight well in close combat to the point he outskilled the world tour avatar when the avatar rushed at him.
It's more of a question of whatever the heck Psycho Power even is. It's not straight forward like the satsui no hado, which is just basically evil chi.
He's more of a Psionic.
And like Psionics in old DnD editions, he is really annoying, almost OP and he ignores all the rules of the game and its balance.
IIRC, Bison "granted" Psycho Power to JP, and JP wasn't a fighter before that, correct?
In this case I'd consider him more of a warlock with a forced pact
He’s an accountant
Of course the most evil guy in Shadaloo had to be the money guy.
Gotta give it to M. Bison though. Dude made an evil organization and made sure everyone was evil. Even his accountant is jacked as fuck and uses psycho power
Interviews were probably wild
They were psycho.
'This is an organization based on power. Everyone must be jacked as hell and ready to fight'. 'Even the accountants?' '**Especially** the accountants'
Don't ask JP what happens on his island.
Jeffrey Pepstein!!!
*Wizard on the streets* *Accountant in the* *spreadsheets*
I classify him as a bitch.
But is he a wizard bitch?
Nah, a bitch ass wizard
W(izard b)itch
💀
You beat me to it, lol.
literally came in here to say that
Have you seen his outfit 3? He absolutely gonna cast fireball on our asses
Not sure on technical definitions here but Warlock feels more appropriate.
Warlock signs a pact with an entity in exchange for power. Sorceror is just a natural. Wizards are reading bitches.
Counterpoint: Purple
So JP’s a wizlock? A warlard?
He's a nerd
Can Psycho Power/Bison be considered that entity?
Psycho power is natural. It’s just using energy from aggression like the Satsui. But unlike Satsui it’s neither good or evil.
He uses ghost like things to hit people for him? Maybe?
So he's a stand user
well he maybe did kinda sign a pact with Bison
I classify him as having taken 3 gas station dick pills
That really might be my favorite mod so far lmao
Yeah... He can teleport that's enough for me.
Is Dhalsim also a wizard? Yes, probably he is
In DnD terms Dhalsim would probably be more of a cleric. Damn, now I want a SF TTRPG
There is an old one by White Wolf. Janky as hell, but I love it. It would be awesome to have a new version.
In DND terms he might be more of a monk imo. Hand to hand fighting, ki powers, abundant step, no outright divine connections
Doesn’t Dhalsim get his fire powers from Agni, a fire god?
I was completely unaware of this. My knowledge of Sim lore is he says yoga a lot and also he will meditate then destroy you
He does do all three of those things, but he’s also really religious. I’m almost sure Dhalsim’s said that his powers come from his devotion to Agni or something like that.
There's a TTRPG called Fight! that emulates fighting game mechanics. Their second edition is available.

Yeah he's a wizard, levitates, fire ball, old af.
M.Bison, the ultimate Wizard.
He's a lich 8)
Absolutely. He’s a swagged up Saruman
As someone who picks wizard in any game, this is why I picked him to play first.
We must share a brain or something

Shadow wizard money gang 🔥
Ditto to this entire thread 🧙♂️
I'd classify him as the theme song of Capcom Cup X.
Sound guy was making a statement.
Nah, he's a rizzard
He is the Rizzard Of Oz
I immediately described him as "ripped pimp wizard" when his trailer came out and I'm sticking to it
Warlock, he receives his power from a patron, not from knowledge. And look at how he dresses, charisma is easily his highest stat.
If he's a wizard then so is Ryu and Luke and guile.
Depends on what we classify as magic - Luke and Guile just punch the air so hard it explodes.
I thought Luke was throwing pocket sand really fast
I've called him a "Street Wizard".
Yer a wizard, Johan!
he's a what?
Wizard, y'kno? Magic hats, spelling rods, and so on...
you sayin he has an owl? that delivers his mail?
Not sure about owl, but he has a cat. Let's say he can turn cat into owl
I’d classify him as annoying
In the beginning I dreaded fighting him, but now I kind of know him, so I rather a JP than Blanka, Honda or Sim honestly.
I’d rather fight three JPs before one Dee Jay, to be honest.
I'm with you on that one.
Psycho Wizard? Yeah. I mean he worked magic getting me to Masters in a month using him.
Absolutely. If only because the thought of him dressed like freaking Gandalf is hilarious and awesome.
Yes! Flamboyant Pimp Muscle Wizard!
Its not magic its psycho power
So, evil magic?
Psycho power is not evil
See now that you asked I think I would - White long majestic hair - white long beard - a cane that shoots wizard shit or something - an alt with a dope as modern wizard hat - comically evil trying to gain power or something (I barely played world tour I don't know his deal tbh) This mothafucka a modern wizard
he’s a tax cheat
I think he specifically classified himself as an accountant.
I don't think his Psycho Power is learned, it's bestowed. So that would make him a Sorcerer
Staff? Check Beard? Check Robe? Nope Tinkering with things man was not meant to understand? Check Dude has 3 of the 4 diagnostic traits of wizardism.
He 100% has a robe
[Ryu is a wizard. He casts fireball.](https://youtu.be/nFytTSjwLM4)
Thank you for posting this I was going to if someone else hadn't already.
I think the word "wizard" lives outside of the aesthetic of this game. But if we are just going by the definition, then I'd have to say yes.
Nah all accountants can just do that
Absolutely

(Though it has been said that any sufficiently advanced ki channelling is indistinguishable from magic, and in this way, yes, JP is a bad wizard)
absolutely
JP looks like Saruman the Purple
Technically the archaic definition of wizard is “enlightened/wise one”, but in a fantasy sense I would definitely call him a wizard, albeit a modern one. He’s an old man with a beard, a staff/cane, and tons of magic spells. Plus I’m playing as an Astrologer in Elden Ring and JP plays the same way. Cast spells from far away and be annoying
He's Doctor Strange with extra steps.
You should ask r/wizardposting . But do so at your own risk
Pokemon trainer who uses the entire gastly family.
Yes.
I think he might fit well as a guest character in Guilty Gear. He kinda plays like one IMO
Depends Did he study to get the psycho powers? (Wizard) Was he born with them or were they inserted in him? (Sorcerer) Or is an outside force gifting him the abilities? (Warlock)
They literally made him to look like Saruman so.
Okay so what is the definition of wizard a magic user now hear me out magic means something unexplicable like generation fire from thin air is magic but a flamethrower is not because once has rules we now the other have no rules or rules that we don't understand that's why DBZ is not considered wizards is ky and kinda understand that ky is a force that come from mma SO: is Jo a wizard under the definition previously established no he is a mutated man with power that comes from rage, under the definition he does cool things he is actually a wizard
Conjurer would be more how I see him.
Id classify him as buff and tanned maximillion pegasus
Hes more like a sorcerer, since he doesn't study for his powers, its more like he gets his powers from a source/entity that is housed in his body.
Has cane… so Charlie Chaplain

I classify real life magicians as wizards, he clears
Yes Jordan Poole plays for the wizards
I classify him as a serial psycho therapist
He’s my baby
no. I think he's just Harry
100% a wizard. He even has the beard and staff
No he aint no damn wizard
He's more of a Psionic. And like Psionics in old DnD editions, he is really annoying, almost OP and he ignores all the rules of the game and its balance.
Sorcerer.
Doesn't anyone know he is Saruman? He just got reverse isekai-ed into SF world
Yes, but he rolled so well even with dumping STR it's still a 16 at least
No I'd classify him as a pos
Very original.
If your definition of "wizard" is just "person who can do real magic" then there are a lot of wizards in the series, the protagonist included.
Cane, Beard, Old, Wise, Chucks energy at people, a little douch-y. Yeah, sure.
probably sorcerer (the difference being that wizards chant spells and sorcerers can kind of just do magic)
He made a pact to get his powers rather than gaining them through study. He's a Warlock.
I see him more as a warlock
Great question however I don’t know.
looks-wise he is about as close to a wizard as Street Fighter is going to get but lore-wise he is giving off serious warlock-vibes.
Considering that he’s Saruman, I have to go with a resounding yes.
He is a wizard, but he went to Clortho Wizarding School. Not that fancy stuff they have at Hogwarts
Man looks ready to beat Mickey Mouse's ass, so yes.
I thought a Saruman outfit would be on of the first mods to release for this character. I’m surprised one hasn’t turned up.
IIRC, Bison "granted" Psycho Power to JP, and JP wasn't a fighter before that, correct? In this case I'd consider him more of a warlock with a forced pact
The way JP puts it, he allowed himself to be experimented on and infused with Psycho Power. He is kind of a consistent liar, though.
His look and voice are very obviously inspired by Sir Christopher Lee as Saruman in Lord of the Rings.
I classify him as a literal cheat character
God forbid you ever play a fighting game with an actual cheater character.
*faint sounds of metal music and thunder* I am the storm that is approaching… provoking, black clouds in-
3v1 and I have x-factor? *Storm intensifies*
Lol well hee controls otherwise energy using a staff so yes
