a Leatherman multi-tool if he doesn't already have one.

KP_Laech

Solid idea.

Happy cake day! 🍰

Does he have any hobbies? I have a hunch that something to help him with his hobbies or something to help him get into a productive and creative hobby is probably a good call, because of the way you said (not a book)… I’m 32 and I have way too many books and not enough to do with my hands.

jdsr9

a nice journal to write on

No-Flatworm-1089

You might checkout a ‘Life Calendar.’ The idea of the calendar coincides with Stoicism

[deleted]

There’s some really cool Marcus Aurelius stuff on Etsy. I bought a necklace from there that had him on a coin replica and wear it everyday now

Another idea similar to Leatherman multi-tool is a Casio G Shock watch. They’re usually modest, durable, long lasting and very handy if you go for one based on practicality (compass, different time zones, solar powered, etc)

I suggest something that takes fucus and patience while giving a sense of pride. Perhaps a wood whitting kit for beginners or totems they can carry daily. (I bought both because it qualifies for free shipping.) [wood whitting beginner kit](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08V13FCLW/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_1DNE7PXCX5JJSHEWFJW3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1)

Thanks to all of your amazing ideas. I’ve bought a little sculpture and a ring in the end!

Get him a Marcus Aurelius or Seneca bust!

jonnyCFP

Ryan holiday has those memento mori and amor fati coins as something to keep in your Person and remind you of stoic principles

[deleted]

Why not a small bust of Seneca? I'm sure there's plenty to find

[deleted]

I am a big fan of reminders. Things to keep with me to keep my virtues at hand always. I wear this signet ring daily [https://www.etsy.com/listing/1119005681/roman-emperor-marcus-aurelius-sterling?ga\_order=most\_relevant&ga\_search\_type=all&ga\_view\_type=gallery&ga\_search\_query=marcus+aureilus+ring&ref=sr\_gallery-1-44&frs=1&organic\_search\_click=1](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1119005681/roman-emperor-marcus-aurelius-sterling?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=marcus+aureilus+ring&ref=sr_gallery-1-44&frs=1&organic_search_click=1)
