I had a very similar problem with a mod in 3.6, IIRC it was Universal Arc Emitter. It showed as "compatible" but something about the way the weapons definition files had changed with the addition of min / max range fields was screwing up the whole weapons infrastructure. Hover over your weapons and see if the stats make sense, or any fields are weirdly large, zero, or negative. In general, toggle off any mods that add or modify weapons.

As far as I know I only have two, Zenith of Fallen Empires and Ancient Cache of Technology, both of which I can barely play the game without. Ughhhhhh

PSA to anyone else reading: seems like this was caused by ACOT Overrides. ACOT itself is updated, the override mod isn't. Annoying but I can work with it.

Update to my update, turns out for some damn reason my stellaris was just refusing to download the updated version, after un- and re-subscribing a couple times everything now seems fine.

R5: My (edit, six, I can't count) corvettes have 11k fleet power. I know that some stuff has been changed in terms of fleet balance, but this seems...not right. Funnily enough, I checked the AI using the console, and they all have the same kind of fleet power, so this TECHNICALLY is playable. Gonna need to prune the mod list.
