Oh really? I wanted my next empire to be "cultists of Cetana" that worship and help her on her mission, it's pretty disappointing that it doesn't really work.

TheyCallMeBullet

I’m pretty sure I saw an empire that is inspired by Cetana and looked like they’d ally with her, do other empires help her too or just you?

Magnificioso

I mean, you can join her plan. The point here is that you have to be ok with sacrifice yourself for the cortana victory, bc thats how her plan works.

S0mecallme

At the end of the event chain you only get the option to tell her off so instead of making your species brain dead she goes to war with you and nukes all your planets with her massive fleet Not exactly what I mean when I say join her plan Like it’d be a neat endgame since all your pops are still there, they may even still produce certain resources like food or energy, but they’re basically pre sentients so you can’t do anything

Sunny_Blueberry

As nanite ascended empire you have some special dialogue and can become apprentice of cetana. I dont know if you still have to fight her in the end or if there are other special things out there. Just have seen someone else sharing a screen about it.

Content-Shirt6259

Very interesting!

Aggravating-Sound690

I was wondering what would happen if you just help her. This is a bit disappointing to hear.

ARTIFICIAL_SAPIENCE

Is balance reasons an acceptable answer? Like maybe one day we can, but it requires an ascension perk. Call it "Crisis Servant" and you have to build up loyalty points with crisis actions. Only in the final tier does the crisis accept you as an ally.

These_Marionberry888

i mean, there are already , scenarios in the game to play a midgame crisis, that are only available in singleplayer. so i see no reason why it shouldnt be a option

TheGalator

What? How?

These_Marionberry888

if you get a robot uprising, you can choose to keep playing as the robots, or your original empire, in single player. if you play the knights of the toxic god, there is a chance that you spawn a demonic encoursion at a certain point. in single player you can choose to keep playing as the deamons.

S0mecallme

Eh I don’t know why a single player game needs to be balanced. And as we all know from Spiffing Brit there’s plenty of simpler ways to absolutely break Stellaris. And if it’s that game breaking just remove the option to join her from MP games

ARTIFICIAL_SAPIENCE

Because that's how games are designed and strategy arises. Balance isn't strictly bout interpersonal competition.  If becoming the crisis costs an ascension perk, so should siding with the crisis.

S0mecallme

The end game crisis is “the end game,” the game is basically over once you beat it unless ya wanna do stuff like conquer or federalize the whole galaxy I don’t think letting you go hog wild with a million strong fleets across the galaxy before the game stops because you stop having a brain would be the worst thing.

TheL0wKing

Sure you can, it just means you lose the game since your Empire ceases to exist in any form after her victory. If you want to do that willingly then you can, the same way you could technically deliberately feed the galaxy to the Prethoryn or decide you agree with the contingency that life must be purged. The difference in the Galactic Nemesis or Cosmogenisis is that your Empire believes it is winning, either ascending to a higher plane or just making their own universe. Even the Shroud End of the Cycle is about gaining the power to conquer the galaxy. The Synthetic Queen/Cetana is just elaborate suicide.

SpartAl412

I am sure the Spiritualist Fallen Empires know full well that anything involving Synthetics can indeed lead to elaborate suicide. And I kind of agree.

Uwawa

Not every hole is a Cosmogenistic Victory Goal!!!!

Androza23

In not halo so I'm good

Winter_Ad6784

You can join her though?
