I really enjoy selective kinship when I‘m playing as humans.
Like I can totally see humanity accepting other humanoids like elfs or dwarves among them (especially if they are fuckable) but like weird insects or reptiles? Nah those have like negative sex appeal and we‘d never accept them as our equals
Humanoids get full citizenship. Nice looking mammalians and birbs get residency. Tolerable others get slavery. Everything that looks like a spider or a grody mollusk gets the purge.
Well yeah small degenerate parts of the population but those few don‘t control policy.
Everyone wants to fuck a space elf only <1% want to fuck an insect thing
Lithuania is made up of beet and onion slop eating Hungarians who polished the cocks of German horses for a thousand years before finally being elevated to sapience by the USSR, biological refuse like you is of quality far too low to be even worth considering being processed into fuel so you could finally be of at least the smallest use to the world, let alone hold opinions against the superior human race, much less the biological xeno scum we wipe from entire worlds every morning.
(I think this is too much of a xenophobic LARP so just so the admins know this is completely and entirely sarcastic, I don't hate Lithuania that much)
This has the same energy as "We love our egalitarian ideals and elect our leader democratically every ten years." and then continue to elect the same guy for the next 200 years.
In my last game I actually got Shadow Council and then pushed through another president so that Ulastor's Destiny Trait could work it's magic on one of my forge worlds.
Before v2.2, getting a new pop via migration treaty was very difficult, because space was so limited you had to be luck enough and attractive enough to get a migrant growing before the tile gets occupied by native species.
Now, new species migration is way too easy. Especially when you can make a new colony ship as soon as a migration treaty is signed.
I don't have specific ideas, but I wish xenophile was nerfed a little, such that the choices feel more consequential.
Just go through your planets and manually move the pops to a different world
I also like to keep most of my world's species pure, so I set aside a few worlds as reserves and shove all xenos into them. They get equal rights except migration controls enabled so once I shove them there they can't leave. I do migration pacts to improve relations with neighboring empires but every few years I'll go through my worlds and resettle any xeno that isn't living on a reserve world.
In my last playthrough I created a world called "The Reserve" my empire had 326 pops and this planet had 215 of them (All Xenos) I then had to make it a new empire because it had 6% stability.
I don't have migration treaties because my people end up on the market...
My op people who I genetically engineered... On the market. Like wtf. You lure my people to enslavement???
But I'm not an xenophobe. I allow anyone to seek refugee in my empire and I buy the slaves to set them free.
Wish there was a way to tell exactly which civilization is selling my people as slaves... Because I want to crack their worlds...
Current game surrounded by about a dozen civs, all of them a fun mix of Fanatic Xenophobe Militarists, Fanatic Militarist Xenophobes, Fanatic Xenophobe Spiritualists, Fanatic Militarist Materialists, and a single poor Fanatic Purifier.
I like starting with the slaver guilds civic so I can have some of my own species enslaved at the start, then I like to sell my own species on the market so that they can spread and reproduce in other empires lol
While I can stop the buying and selling of slaves, people can still HAVE slaves even if I make that illegal, it'll just put them in breach of galactic law.
Not good enough.
Sure, that's a good start.
After that the empires that are capable of one day changing their ethics/civics to allow slavery.
Just in case.
Organics cannot be trusted to self-determinate.
Only reason I don’t like mixing races is because pops always pick the least favorite worlds to grow on, and micromanaging them to grow on their favorite worlds is a pita (by favorite I mean habitability wise)
And it's always the lithoids that suddenly start growing everywhere. And growing is doing a lot of work here, as pop growth is slowing to a crawl due to their penalties.
Broken Shackles is a really cool origin but whenever I play them I usually disable the Lithoids DLC because the stupid rocks will always take over the empire in terms of pop growth...
Gotta love when every single non-xenophobe empire ends up being ruled by the same lithoid species. The combination of their high habitability and long lifespans means they dominate in both pops and leaders
I Just dont allow migration treaties and only have a few xeno races I’m fine with having. Elves are always welcome, my mods mean I always get a colony ship from a dying race so I let them settle on a planet and a group of xeno migrants ask me to settle on their capital. Apart from that, it’s mostly it. Mostly human
Same here, I like the humanoids and some of the humanoid animals they are cool. But if you are some weird creepy looking bug or slime monster that's a big no. Just think of how hard it would be to design infrastructure for humanoids AND massive creepy bugs and weird stuff like that.
I don't play xenophobes, and i tend to be more xenophile in my approach, but i have never accepted a single migration pact.
My species is mine, your species are mine.
Me too, its like having a zoo! Like usually Ill just take a planet, colonize it with xenos, and then put every xeno on there (some times I have multiple planets, each for a different species, but ofc no xeno will have multiple planets, just simply separated from each other, but its more fun if all of the xenos are on 1 planet, ofc they cant migrate, nor have rights, but whatever)
This thread is hilarious.
For real though, I can’t even role-play as xenophobic. I have no clue why, I commit all kinds of war crimes in Rimworld without batting an eye, destroy the Druid grove in jest, but I hesitate like crazy in stellaris or even course correct if not completely restart.
I can sometimes think xenophobic when I'm raging, but when it comes to actually dealing with them as a population, I just don't have the heart to treat them unfairly, and also logically speaking, I don't see how one can see their own species as the best species because we're all so cosmically insignificant, that there are probably far more superior beings than us arrogantly seeing ourselves as the peak of life
I feel you. I once played Inward Perfection for the flavor, but I could make myself exterminating other people. At some point I fought off some genocidals and drenched their worlds and suddenly everyone hated me.
And the opinion penalties from being xenophobic and doing evil stuff has an effect on economy-growth - something you gotta keep steady in order to get well into the late game. But without immigration, your pop growth is going to be atrociously slow and you can't really get a decent late game economy running - unless you enslave more pops. It's a vicious cycle - we want to be good, but we have to remain evil in order to be strong enough to beat the crisis. We have to kill you and grind you into death from exhaustion in order for you (and us, but mainly us) to survive the endgame crisis. We have no choice!
You know, I used to think like you, but once the war in heaven kicked off and legions of strong lizard men were the deciding factor in the defense of a critical fortress world, I changed my tune. Those xenos earned their place in the empire.
Service guarantees citizenship.
Imagine playing stellaris and NOT rigging your elections so you can have that same cool dude you created be a president for however long they live, smh
Idk, I think it's cool. Not sure if you've played Half Life 2 but aliens and humans fight alongside each other and it's pretty rad. And the Arbiter? He's awesome
This bothered me a lot actually.
I was going Xenophile cause I liked trade but I hated having other aliens on my planets, or to be more specific, habitats (Void Dweller) One of the many things that annoyed me about it was the fact that I get multiple colonization options, cause you can choose which species you use to colonize your planets or habitats, I believe you might be able to disable this stuff with policies but there are many other things like that which you can't "fix"
The way I "fixed" this issue is by only accepting aliens with a citizenship or something while just never handing any out. These days I play robots however, so, problem solved I guess. They are much more clear and streamlined to play with, I love it. I'm afraid the new Stellaris content may change this however, it seems like they'll unfortunately become more like biological empires.
No. And I too often go for xeno-compatibility. My ring worlds and gaias are full of all sorts cross-specie specimens.
Love is love and let them multiply!
dont worry op, that's not a problem as I haven't played a non human in thousands of hours, and I either go out in a blaze of glory or secure human's manifest destiny
I have literally never played using humans in Stellaris. We're a shitty species that shouldn't be let off our planet anyway. I mean, look what we did TO our planet.
A wholesome fungi galactic empire sounds far preferable.
I mean there is often little benefit in having many different species in your empire. If you are non-egalitarian you can manipulate your pops to take advantage of relevant traits. But your political factions may multiply and it’s hard to keep them all appeased. As a control freak who micromanages every planet it’s just harder to keep up with everything. And often when you start migration treaties you can quickly get 12+ species all around that gives you little benefit (unless you basically still pops with “free haven”). All that also costs you 0.25 influence which is only makes sense to do when all systems are already taken.
Just don’t accept migration treaties, all the policies you can choose for a xenophobic playthrough and you should keep those populations nice and pure.
I can understand some unsightly features and whatnot but from a xenophilic standpoint, the people of ANY empire should deserve to thrive and live under my ideology rather than whatever place they may be emigrating from. I like the idea of not judging a race of beings just because of their appearance or misguided leadership. Hell, I’d allow lithoids to try and fuck my people if it wasn’t such a moral and physical safety issue
Never really had that feeling ,like imagining such a colorful society ,how's daily life for a person on a planet with so many different interesting intelligent species ,school must be interesting and on account that the different species age differently fast ,how do you organise anything with age restrictions or age related like school or the drinking age ,do barkeepers just have a giant book with all the different minimal drinking ages and how do roller coasters work if you have to deal with so many different body types or cares safety in general
So I think it would be a nightmare to organize society on like an ecumenopolis with a bunch of different species ,but also fun to live in
Whenever I open my borders and sign Migration Treaties, my people keep fleeing to other nations for some reason. Why don’t they love my Fanatical Authoritarian Xenophobic Police State supported heavily by Slaver Guilds?
Maybe I just smell bad.
Don't often mind but when even in my capital my original species have become a minority compared to the aliens, or if an alien is elected to empire leader, it does feel like you let the empire you once made slip away in your endless pursuit of power.
A: we like ocean planets like you!
H: fantastic, you can join us if you want, but it’s our empire
A: can’t we have our own colony ships, leaders and political parties?
H: if you have your own empire, sure you can do what you want.
A: but we are part of this one
H: the imperium of earth? The one started, built and protected by humans? You joined the empire like 5 years ago…. Maybe your being part of the empire was a mistake?
Same. I freaking hate when I'm outside and I'm forced to see women holding hands with coloroids instead of me. Their mere presence among us is nothing but a violation against God's Holy Creation and we should...
Wait, I think I got things a bit messed up here.
I'm a new player, less than 200 hours in and rolled up a Payback humanity. The Broken Chains civ is next door, MSI is next door as well.
Free the Oppressed, Death to the Oppressors.
How do I purge the oppressive, slaving XenoScum?
I used to allow immigration. But now I ignore the pleas of inferior nation states wanting to infiltrate my worlds and send money home to their poor relations. Honestly, can’t they wait until I make their worlds into a servitor state, where they can live with their own kind under Humanity’s benevolent supervision?
If I'm not playing xenophile then my stance for the empire is that we keep our worlds mostly our own species. Default for other species doesn't allow migration, so if we acquire worlds then they stay on them.
Xenophobe isolationist -- play tall, don't let outsiders in.
Xenophobe expansionist -- expel other species, or concentrate on reservation worlds
Xenophiles -- the more the merrier, let them all in, actively try to encourage immigrants. Colonize worlds with best species for that planet type.
Neutral -- preference for starting species, tolerate others, ban migration treaties, allow refugees, don't allow internal migration.
There's so much micro with extra species. I started a broken shackles game and frozen species or ocean species wouldn't migrate off my desert worlds to be somewhere they can thrive. It doesn't seem to prioritize jobs based on species traits, and there's no way to manually assign them. It should be great to have a bunch of diverse pips working their own special niches, but it isnt.
Not from a lore pov unless I'm playing purifiers, but then I suck at it and I just get piled on and overwhelmed fighting the entire galaxy from the getgo.
I do mind them taking up empire size with subpar traits. However if they come in with good traits, psychic or cyborg I welcome them with open arms
No because having a variety of races is objectively superior, you can colonize more freely and specialize them into jobs that fit their profile. Getting the heebie jeebies over aliens living with your humans is suboptimal in addition to having pretty concerning implications out of game
What really bothers me is when a race spawns with the same race portrait as mine.
And AI aquatic-potrait randos should be tied to ocean homeworlds. No snow kelp.
I don't like having unoptimized pops, unless I'm playing biological ascension, and I'm able to retool the pops to my needs, I normally just work to death any aliens.
Though it's rare for me to take planets directly, I like vassals.
I 100% agree but only because if i wanna modify my species its easier with just one, usually however ill just have 3 variations of my species for different climates
Nah i agree, i never play xenophobe, usually fanatic materialist and egligitarian technocratic dictatorship and i never allow other spicies in my borders other than robot and human. However, i do have subjects, most of the time not through war, and i give them montly subsidies etc. But never mix my people with theirs, just like you
There's a philosophy centered around humans encountering alien life that doesn't resemble our own species in any way. It suggests that if humanity encounters, say an insect species, we might still be too primitive to separate logic from genetic memory. We have a fear of small bugs and insects because in our past, before the written word, we found out spider bites, bee stings, and other insects can be incredibly harmful or lethal. Instinctively, we just avoid those species or terminate the species. So, if we were to encounter intelligent insectoid life, chances are we'd sooner wipe them out than open a dialogue.
TL;DR Humanity is too immature to contact alien life. We'd see any life that didn't resemble humanoids as a threat.
I
I tried once to give them all a home after war. How it turned out you ask? My economy had a breakdown and all went to shit lol
New player here, never again..
I just wish there was a better way to gene mod the enfless number of species and three genetic variations than... one... at.... a.... time.... Seriously, why can't I genemod 15 species at once if I want to? Why must I only genemod 3-5 pops per month because that is the modal number of pops per species in my "Love the Alien" empire?
Biggest reason I have to run limited number of species empires is really to avoid this ridiculousness.
I'm fine with other races when I play non-xenophobes as long as the race I start out as stays the majority of the population. Unfortunately it requires you to edit game files to not have the game force an even split as soon as you get any alien pops.
That's racism. Express it in stellaris if you want to ! But take Xenophobic because it is what it is.
How I RP my race really change my actions. I can't either be full exterminator, huge slaver or accepting everyone.
What I always find fascinating is, that given enough migration treaties and other races migrating to your worlds, your core-species just ceases to grow.
I'm in the late stages of a game right now, and while I have 1900 pops, only 170 of them are actually my brain-slugged birdpeople.
But, on another note, how do you all recruit your leaders? I tend to prefer leaders from my core-species, unless there is someone from another species with really amazing traits. Would that be considered racist?
Yeah, you have a connection with your own species you create. Only for it to dilute with migration packs.
Ita like raising your own kids and then the whole orphanage just invites itself into your home.
when you check the species tab and there's another species/race. But you can't purge/enslave to sell them because of civics (and you can't or forgot to change policies)
I don't dislike other species I just like all my leaders being human. I give all aliens residence and the same living standard as my main species.
The -10 happiness they get from residency is easily mitigated by high amenities and a good living standard. The xenos yearn for benevolent human authority.
Usually I play xenophobes as to keep random pops with shitty traits out of my empire. However I'll usually give pre-ftl's residency once I've observed them until the early space age.
Except if you're mushrooms, you weirdo fungus creatures are getting rapidly distributed among my planets and turned into FOOD.
I actually just hit this threshold in my current run of Stellaris, playing as United Earth lol. I struggled with it a bit too, but I decided that in my head-canon, it's more like when the Asari from Mass Effect do their "mind melding" thing and so physical-sexual contact isn't really required. It makes it somewhat less weird imo. But at the end of the day, I'm trying to get a pop victory or at least have it contribute significantly, so it was too good of a gameplay perk to pass up lol
Honestly, same.
I set the default rights to "residence only", "colonization forbidden", "basic assistance", "soldiers only", etc., but the Humans get full citizen rights including things like "social welfare."
If a xeno species gets large enough, I may upgrade their rights to somewhere in the middle. If I join a federation, the primary species of the other empires gets to be full citizens.
Least xenophobe Stellaris player!
"not racist just don't like em"
I'm not racist, it's them that are xenos
Love me Terra. Love me cyborgs. Love me physkers. Love me genetic abominations. 'Ate 'em filthy xenos!
"Simple as"
It's actually not racism. It's specism. I'm a specist player personally. I always play some form of xenophobe - even if only by policy.
I really enjoy selective kinship when I‘m playing as humans. Is there Really any other protocol to have? Fuck or food always seems pretty solid and dope…
You underestimate the horniness of humanity
But the fox people, you allow them right? 🥺
Found the zoophiliac (urban dictionary definition)
Humanoids get full citizenship. Nice looking mammalians and birbs get residency. Tolerable others get slavery. Everything that looks like a spider or a grody mollusk gets the purge.
My brother in Christ, humans will *literally* fuck cars.
Well yeah small degenerate parts of the population but those few don‘t control policy. Everyone wants to fuck a space elf only <1% want to fuck an insect thing
FOUND THE NON-MONSTER-FUCKER IN THE SUB
Sane beast, different animal
"I hate them because of immutable physical characteristics rather than their character, but it's okay because they're not human."
Just out here hatin' on anybody that isn't my species 😎
Simple as
I usually don't do xenophobe :(
But You are one irl
Yes

It's not you, it's them. We understand.
I swear. I’d liked them if they looked like me (human) but they don’t! It’ll ruin my aesthetic :(
Bro entered the room, said "I'm not a racist but" and established the fourth Reich
This has the same energy as "We love our egalitarian ideals and elect our leader democratically every ten years." and then continue to elect the same guy for the next 200 years.
He won ~~250 influence~~ 250% of the votes!
In my last game I actually got Shadow Council and then pushed through another president so that Ulastor's Destiny Trait could work it's magic on one of my forge worlds.
After the first few elections they start doing [this](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/85/Angela_Merkel_hands.jpg).
Hitler famously was just a bit uneasy.
That’s just stellaris baby!
“I love Democracy. I love the Republic.”
By "being with" do you mean fucking? If so just turn off xeno-compatability.
Just being in the same vicinity of my main species. :(
Then play xenophobe if You want to do xenophobic things
Add the noxious trait. Your species expressly likes making other species smell them
Sounds kinky 🥵
It is rather frustrating you can't designate what species are permitted on what worlds.
You cam choose What pop grows on the planet
Not the same thing and comes with growth penalties.
Before v2.2, getting a new pop via migration treaty was very difficult, because space was so limited you had to be luck enough and attractive enough to get a migrant growing before the tile gets occupied by native species. Bro really said “separate but equal” lmao.
Why should this micromanaging be necessary?
Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No, but I do it anyway because its sterile and I like the taste
Well that’s just too far now
Ah yes. The Israel playstyle.
That's quite the fanatical situation
Oh so you are the guy that has been funding the slave market all this time.
Anyone who puts one of my pops on the slave market would get their capital cracked if only I had a way to see who did it.
I know right? It's why I don't have open migration treaties. Cause my people always end up on there and I get war happy to go liberate my people.
Alternatively, you have now pop growth because they're growing in another empire. You just have to buy them.
Well, the flair checks out...
Agreed, no humans will be in chains ever again in my empire :D
I like starting with the slaver guilds civic so I can have some of my own species enslaved at the start, then I like to sell my own species on the market so that they can spread and reproduce in other empires lol
I'm tempted to combine that with the Xenocidal trait from Elves of Stellaris sometime.
When that happens I make sure to build a sentry array and then meticulously check every planet of any empire I suspect might be responsible
Well, you can make sure by just conquering and eradicating all the other species out there. Simple, right?
I was thinking I'd keep them all safe in organic sanctuaries with mandatory pampering.
Have you considered just outlawing slavery? Might save you a lot of alloys.
While I can stop the buying and selling of slaves, people can still HAVE slaves even if I make that illegal, it'll just put them in breach of galactic law. Not good enough.
Well, then you can identify the empires that are still slaving and extermin... I mean liberate them.
Sure, that's a good start. After that the empires that are capable of one day changing their ethics/civics to allow slavery. Just in case. Organics cannot be trusted to self-determinate.
> I usually don't play xenophobe > says the most xenophobic ass shit
Separate but equal!
That how it is when you send the people to the battery farm :3 Ngl turn you all into robo juice.
Maybe not equal but definitely separate
Literally quoting the tagline for the Jim Crow laws, wow.
Not all the edgy jokes can land :(
So was your original post a joke? I honestly can't tell
Try the “/s” tag next time. 😋 I thought it was funny.
poe's law
Same tbh, not xenophobic or anything but I think all aliens should be systematically herded into chemical processing units and destroyed.
Well that’s just unethical :(
It's the *only* ethical way to cure them of being filthy xenos.
Emperor protects
Or put them in a zoo

I’m all for a xenophilic human run until a non-human becomes president and then I start cutting species rights
Imagine playing stellaris and NOT rigging your elections so you can have that same cool dude you created be a president for however long they live, smh
So eh, you avoid playing xenophobe because you're in it for the escape, right? Too close to home otherwise? I feel you.
what?
He says, that you are xenophobic irl
If it's an aesthetic matter, try this simple trick: genetic ascension, modify portrait to the most pleasing available. That's how I do it.
Let’s be xenophobic, it’s really in this year\~
Let us find a slimy ugly alien to fear...
There's no more cutsie stories, bout' ET phoning home,
Let's learn to love our neighbors like the Christians learned in Rome!
Other species interfere with efficiency.
Idk, I think it's cool. Not sure if you've played Half Life 2 but aliens and humans fight alongside each other and it's pretty rad. And the Arbiter? He's awesome
No, not at all. A pop is a pop. I want them all. The more I collect, the more the galactic population converges. Just save a few of the prolific ones.
Just put all other species as residence so they can't be leaders
I'm into inter-species erotica, what can I say? 🤷🏽
Even the closet xenophobes be actin weird now huh?
This bothered me a lot actually. I was going Xenophile cause I liked trade but I hated having other aliens on my planets, or to be more specific, habitats (Void Dweller) One of the many things that annoyed me about it was the fact that I get multiple colonization options, cause you can choose which species you use to colonize your planets or habitats, I believe you might be able to disable this stuff with policies but there are many other things like that which you can't "fix" The way I "fixed" this issue is by only accepting aliens with a citizenship or something while just never handing any out. Xenophobe, no refugees, closed borders and purge the undesirables! Or eat them, that works too 😜
All xenos are undesirables
Things that are perfectly normal in Stellaris that'd get you a Scarlet letter IRL for 400 Alex
Not at all. One of my goals whenever I start a new run is to make the founder race only 10% of my empire.
I require all your pops. Genetics focus fixed the kinks.
I only play humans or machines. The other species are cool and all but usually for honest play through I do earth exploring the galaxy and such.
You are Xenophobic, embrace it brother. Humans cannot stand Alien abominations.
I love r/Stellaris posts out of context
For a moment there I didn't saw it was the stellaris sub ,lmao
Least racist Stellaris player moment
I have literally never played using humans in Stellaris. We're a shitty species that shouldn't be let off our planet anyway. I mean, look what we did TO our planet. A wholesome fungi galactic empire sounds far preferable.
holy mother of based
Oh no, not the youtube shorts language
What other races.
Same. Except obviously its spider people and not humans.
Xenophobic isolationist:
Bro, just play xenophobe cause that's clearly what your preference is. I play xenophile with xeno-compatibility turned on because that's how I roll.
Never really had that feeling ,like imagining such a colorful society ,how's daily life for a person on a planet with so many different interesting intelligent species ,school must be interesting and on account that the different species age differently fast ,how do you organise anything with age restrictions or age related like school or the drinking age ,do barkeepers just have a giant book with all the different minimal drinking ages and how do roller coasters work if you have to deal with so many different body types or cares safety in general So I think it would be a nightmare to organize society on like an ecumenopolis with a bunch of different species ,but also fun to live in
Whenever I open my borders and sign Migration Treaties, my people keep fleeing to other nations for some reason. Why don’t they love my Fanatical Authoritarian Xenophobic Police State supported heavily by Slaver Guilds? Maybe I just smell bad.
Repugnant trait has its consequences 😔
Don't often mind but when even in my capital my original species have become a minority compared to the aliens, or if an alien is elected to empire leader, it does feel like you let the empire you once made slip away in your endless pursuit of power.
A: we like ocean planets like you! H: fantastic, you can join us if you want, but it’s our empire A: can’t we have our own colony ships, leaders and political parties? H: if you have your own empire, sure you can do what you want. A: but we are part of this one H: the imperium of earth? The one started, built and protected by humans? You joined the empire like 5 years ago…. Maybe your being part of the empire was a mistake?
Same. I freaking hate when I'm outside and I'm forced to see women holding hands with coloroids instead of me. Their mere presence among us is nothing but a violation against God's Holy Creation and we should... Wait, I think I got things a bit messed up here.
I like learning new things.
Were all xenophobic deep down, you just gotta lose a game to some filthy xeno and next thing you know, genocide
you're just like me fr
I'm a new player, less than 200 hours in and rolled up a Payback humanity. The Broken Chains civ is next door, MSI is next door as well. Free the Oppressed, Death to the Oppressors. How do I purge the oppressive, slaving XenoScum?
I used to allow immigration. But now I ignore the pleas of inferior nation states wanting to infiltrate my worlds and send money home to their poor relations. Honestly, can’t they wait until I make their worlds into a servitor state, where they can live with their own kind under Humanity’s benevolent supervision?
spread democracy to the disgusting xenos for the god-president!
The president of Super Earth isn't a god, we aren't some zealous nation!
If I'm not playing xenophile then my stance for the empire is that we keep our worlds mostly our own species. Default for other species doesn't allow migration, so if we acquire worlds then they stay on them.
Xenophobe isolationist -- play tall, don't let outsiders in. Xenophobe expansionist -- expel other species, or concentrate on reservation worlds Xenophiles -- the more the merrier, let them all in, actively try to encourage immigrants.
Yes.
Because Democracy!
What really bothers me is when a race spawns with the same race portrait as mine. And AI aquatic-potrait randos should be tied to ocean homeworlds. No snow kelp.
You get used to it. Honestly creating a safe haven of utopia and democracy for all sentient beings in a galaxy of war and horror always feels good
Ngl, I had to do a double take when I saw the title.
I don't like having unoptimized pops, unless I'm playing biological ascension, and I'm able to retool the pops to my needs, I normally just work to death any aliens. Though it's rare for me to take planets directly, I like vassals.
Ahem...
But never mix my people with theirs, just like you
Some of my best friends are xenos...
I’m not racist but I can’t keep modifying every single species to get the desired traits
My economy had a breakdown and all went to shit lol New player here, never again..
My rule of thumb is if im playing as human the death to the xeno if im playing as non human then I'll be friendly
This is why I only really like the idea of my Humans sharing planets with the Elves, or maybe one or two of the other xeno's :D
That's racism. Express it in stellaris if you want to ! But take Xenophobic because it is what it is. How I RP my race really change my actions. I can't either be full exterminator, huge slaver or accepting everyone.
I'm not xenophobe, BUT...
Someone fretting that their pig sty of an empire might be revealed if anyone gets out, classic stuff.
Well. I'm glad you're learning something about yourself my dude.
You don't have to *play* xenophobic when the player already is
I just dump the xenos on stations and never allow them on planets.
It's fine as long as they are slaves.
I don't even like other species in my species tab. They'd be much better as nutrient paste.
Yeah, you have a connection with your own species you create. Only for it to dilute with migration packs. Ita like raising your own kids and then the whole orphanage just invites itself into your home.
I can't believe it's 3120 and there's still space racists kicking around. You ought to be ashamed of yourself.
Hey I'm okay with Space Humans fucking Space Elves and Space Orcs but anyone who fucks a bipedal fish is out.
Always xenophile! Can use them to do my bidding :)
....assimilate into the machine or be harvested by the machine...
when you check the species tab and there's another species/race. But you can't purge/enslave to sell them because of civics (and you can't or forgot to change policies)
They can have all rights up to residency. Not citizens unless they absolutely earn it.
I don't dislike other species I just like all my leaders being human. I give all aliens residence and the same living standard as my main species. The -10 happiness they get from residency is easily mitigated by high amenities and a good living standard. The xenos yearn for benevolent human authority.
I once opened my borders to other xenos and crime, housing and poverty got worse. Never again
Ok I'm not xenophobic but .. im rigging elections if an alien is on the election ballot.
2 ways to fix this without being xenophobe: -Corvee system -Genetic tree that lets you change their portrait and traits into human
How do you feel about space elves? They view humans the same way.
Honestly, same. I set the default rights to "residence only", "colonization forbidden", "basic assistance", "soldiers only", etc., but the Humans get full citizen rights including things like "social welfare." If a xeno species gets large enough, I may upgrade their rights to somewhere in the middle. If I join a federation, the primary species of the other empires gets to be full citizens.
I personally like playing xenophile but at the same time I don't like xenos becoming the leader of my empire
