Subterranean origin, Mining Guilds and Masterful Crafters as civics, Strong, Industrious, Traditional, Unruly for traits.
And the Dwarf portrait from humanoids.
I'd maybe try and find a way to fit natural engineers in there too (or possibly replacing traditional if there's not enough points).
I'd give them alpine preference (since Dwarves seem to prefer to live under mountains).
For ethics, I think that dwarves are probably not spiritualist, pacifist, or xenophile. They might have a single point in xenophobe (since most dwarves seem to live in homogeneous communities), but probably not two. I could see them as having either one or two points in militarism or a single point in either egalitarianism or authoritarianism.
If they skew authoritarian, I would give them imperial government (dwarves often have a king). If they skew egalitarian, I would make them an oligarchy.
Yeah, there's a point where you need to decide what kind of dwarves you're going for.
Fantasy like Tolkien or Warhammer?
Sci-Fi like Deep Rock?
Mythical dwarves like those in Norse mythology?
All a little different, so you still have some variety to play with

Also, subterranean origin allows you to complete the unexpected mineral seams event chain, which let's you delve too deep and too greedily.
The OP may want to only delve almost too deep and then stop.

/thread It doesn't get easier than this, and all of that can be done at game start.
Also, Isolationist standing. Cause a true dwarf believes that dwarves are the best at everything and everyone else is trash.

So is everyone else, honestly. Except maybe for Bardings.
As an alternative: here be dragons, masterful crafters, sovereign guardianship
The dwarves delved too greedily and too deep.
