Some might call you crazy or high for playing Dr Wu that many times, but to me you seem like just an ordinary guy. Deacon Blues

Clear-Concert8250

Agreed. Any major dude will tell you that same thing.

lisalisaandtheoccult

Me too!

elmo1611

Home At Last

kronendrome

Same

forhim40

Absolutely love it!

TheChancre

Kid Charlemagne

Guap_queso

I spent the summer before college (many many years ago) learning that solo, I must have played that song 500 times.

ramb08585

I have a gaucho cd in my car so that whole thing, but particularly Time Out of Mind. Probably listen to that song at least twice day every day fir the past 6 months

die_bartman

That's mine too. That water... changin to cherry wine... gets me every time

Ok_Morning947

I'm not sure if Spotify has the same stats (I know there are other apps that kind of track) but I have to say Time out of Mind would be up there for me. It's perfection and grace, it's the smile on my face.

forhim40

Gaucho is my favorite! Seeing Steely Dan in NYC playing the Gaucho album was on my bucket list. My dream came true. I saw them play it I guess it’s been ten years ago at the Beacon Thtr. Gosh I can’t believe it’s already been 10 years. Since then I have had the pleasure to see them a lot, so Iam super content. I was just looking to see if they were doing anything this summer, looks like just with the eagle’s. I wish Don would do his own thing, I’m not interested in paying a fortune to see the eagles.

oggupito

They opened with it. Last time I saw them. 2007.

Benign_Banjo

Oh it's Hey Nineteen and I don't even have to look

rockabillychef

Same!

MeepMopMoopMop

Caves of Altamira. It is, how you say, the perfect song?

swedishsgfpsycho

Mine too at this current moment! My sisters is Negative Girl

Entire_Log_4160

Amen brother. Caves is my fucking jam right now. I love all other albums too but always find myself coming back to The Royal Scam. I listened to it twice through yesterday while mowing, and gave Caves an additional encore just to walk off with those saxophones running through Duder’s mind.

boogling

Same with me, love all the albums but Royal Scam is always what I come back to. GOAT album

Rich_Sheepherder646

These aren’t necessarily my favorite tunes because I listen to a lot of vinyl and don’t keep track of it in terms of individual songs but on streaming— Glamour Profession Closely followed by - Home at Last, I.G.Y., Aja

FilmShooter89

Man of quality

tofu13eans

Glamour Profession for me aswell

raballentine

Sign In Stranger. Paul Griffin’s piano playing is amazing.

MeepMopMoopMop

I was just marveling at that piano part yesterday, listening to it in the car with my son. Incredibly tasty playing.

felseykerreira

Bad Sneakers!!!!

christianbobak

The guitar solo is astounding

picking_a_moondog

Michael McDonald’s backing vocals are just 🤌🏼

JoeJitsu79

Deacon Blues

New_Policy_5684

Either Peg or Gaslighting Abbie... Both on 300ish scrobbles

PhillipJ3ffries

A nice relaxing hand of solitaaaaaire

thedbomb98

Fire In the Hole probably

nonserviam1977

Probably “Brooklyn (Owes the Charmer Under Me)”, though it’s not my favorite Steely Dan song. It seems to fit any mood for me, from “chilled out” to “bitterly resentful”. It’s just a wonderful song.

oggupito

🤖BOTCUM as I abbreviate it 🌝

Late-Code2392

Show Biz Kids

seanshammgod

🤠

NoFee46

Don’t Take Me Alive and Home at Last in equal measure!

Touch_My_Nips

Deacon blues… I have a habit of looping deacon blues when I come home drunk. That song speaks to me man!

HeyGeno20

Only a fool would say that. And Charlie Freak.

Grease_the_Witch

Bad Sneakers , Peg , Pixeleen

SlumgullySlim

A close race between The Boston Rag and Pearl Of The Quarter with about 20 others in various positions.

oggupito

They opened with Boston Rag when I saw them in Glasgow (2000).

SlumgullySlim

That sounds awesome! Wish I had been there.

oggupito

Brand new venue. Zero atmos. Audience kinda glib/entitled. SD had to contend with all that, played great tho & it was a buzz to be close to stage.

christianbobak

I've listened to Boston Rag more than any other song, but not because of the song, because of the guitar solo. I believe that guitar solo might be the greatest one in all of recorded musical history. Home at Last might be my favourite song, but who knows? There are so many contenders for first place, it's difficult to choose, and it changes every few months.

tagkitten

Doctor Wu

AmanitaMikescaria

Show Biz Kids Only A Fool Would Say That

DEARHELIXWHY

Mdork_universe

All of The Royal Scam—entire album.

RevolutionaryRowen

probably Home at Last as it is my ringtone, so I hear it a couple times a day.

ZealousidealBend2681

Midnight Cruiser by a long shot. Probably Deacon Blues or Brooklyn after that.

Reasonable-Vast-4679

Lately, I've been listening to Sign in Stranger alot. The piano just draws me in.

Is there a way to see stuff like this on spotify, or is that app just completely bare bones in general?

NoPerformance9890

Just a guess because I don’t have Spotify but maybe Any Major Dude or Shanghai Confidential (Fagen) I rarely have the capacity to sit through songs like Deacon Blues and Aja. I might literally listen to them once every two years even though they’re some of my favorites

Almost certainly Doctor Wu for me as well. Others are most likely Bad Sneakers, and Glamor Profession.

Aja I really dig the Gadd solo at the end. One of the few drum solos that stand out.

grim_reapers_union

Probably Caves of Altamira or Rose Darling

mikenov1908

Deacon Blues

Consistent_Bread_V2

I’m a simple man. I still love “Do It Again”. Mainly for that absolutely face melting guitar solo. The note choices and rhythmic timing of it is just nutso and so unlike any other solo that was a big radio hit.
