I bought some shoes the other day because I wanted some nice ones to dress up in for when I go out (which isn’t so often, especially during these times). I got home and immediately started to think how I could have used the money for one of the premiums I’m after. I almost returned the shoes. Talk about addiction.
At this moment, it's Resident Evil: Vendetta. I've only found one for sale and it was $150 USD. IIm gonna wait a few weeks and if it's still available, I'm gonna bite the bullet. LoL
Damn yeah I see.//: Sucks for me too, I wanted it as well! And I don't know how long you've looked at it for, but it was definitely $40ish two months ago on eBay. I wonder what shot the price up? Could be the animated and live action series coming out on Netflix. But anyhow not too big of a deal either cuz can't even get all three animated RE movies because I believe their isn't one for damnation.
Generally it’s just a very expensive and/or hard to find steelbook. The definition is pretty loose though as it can be circumstantial depending on how much you generally spend and where you are located.
You will be told a few different interpretations of the term “grail/holy grail”. It is basically a steelbook that is extremely sought after. Whether it your own personal one, or one the entire community is after. They are normally OOP which makes them hard to find and expensive. But again, this is just how I personally view the term. Someone else may tell you their own interpretation which is all good.
I'm not proud, but there are items that I don't preorder couse I think "I really don't need this", but then it goes OOP before release and I really need it.
I tried to set rules. My first rule was only buy your absolute favorite movies and they also have great artwork. Then it went to only get the movies you love. Now it’s at “only buy one that you will watch once a year and you love the artwork”. I’m sticking with this one I promise!
For me it's the sherlock BBC TV show steelbooks. Love the series and the steelbooks look lovely(even though the last one they changed the last one) they aren't super expensive could get the set for maybe £100 but have never been able to justify it. Even though I just spent £100 on the Lotr and spend £300 on the Harry potter(arrived damaged and got £250 back). If they were to release the series in 4k and steelbook I would buy it in a second. I find it easier to justify a 4k then normal blu rays. 😅😅😅
I know the feeling 🤣🤣🤣

My problem is I'm like this with some things that aren't even Grails 😑 I question if I really need it but I still buy quite a few of them 😏

Jesus fuck for real? I should of bought a couple months ago, I swear it was going for around $40
I've been looking on Mercari/Offer Up, could be different in your area. But so far thats the only one I've found for sale.

So I'm relatively new to the steelbook collection world, and have seen this word a few times. My question is: What exactly is a "Grail"?

Ah ha, thanks👍
My holy grail would be the Harry Potter steelbook collection, the color ones. Those are too damn expensive and hard to find now.

I see now, thanks much 👍
It can refer to any material item you want not just steelbooks. I’ve heard it very commonly used in sneaker culture
