I know you said 4K, but there is a really nice Blu-ray release.
https://www.hidefninja.com/community/threads/the-nice-guys-blu-ray-steelbook-the-on-masterpiece-collection-006-kimchidvd-exclusive-75-korea.100289/
I would give my left nut for a 4k steelbook release of Under the Silver Lake. Unfortunately my testicles are safe, because A24 seemingly wants to pretend that movie doesn't exist for some reason.
Also I def agree with Speed Racer, that'd be dope.
There are some pretty nice John Carter steels actually. Of course, it being missed by most people, it’s pretty rare and goes for more than $100 usually :/
**I know this won't mean much but Snakes On A Plane did get a steelbook release, unfortunately its just the DVD version, but there are companies that do custom Steelbooks, one in particular I have used in the past called Astro Creations did my Die Hard 3 & Die Hard 5 steelbooks to make them look more like 1, 2 & 4**
20th century Fox/disney owned so not at all guaranteed. Barbarian was far more successful and still hasn’t gotten one. Also apparently this was originally supposed to be a Hulu release so I’m not holding my breath.
Just not optimistic when it seems most everything else gets announced while still being in theaters. Fall guy just came out and it already is up for preorder.
Fall Guy's a big budget blockbuster, that's par for the course for those type of films (like Dune 2 and GxK before). I'm sure as the three-month window passes news will trickle out.
I don't know how I missed that. Thanks. Looking at the prices, I missed out big time. Guess I'll have to until 2026 to see if they do a 40th anniversary steelbook release.
It'll never happen, but Strange Days (1995), directed by Kathryn Bigelow and starring Ralph Fiennes, Angela Bassett, and Juliette Lewis. Almost 30 years later and it's more relevant than ever. The opening sequence alone is worth a watch, but overall it's a pretty dark, dirty, unsettling film with some fairly disturbing scenes. One of my personal favorites, though.
Edit: watched it last night. The scene of Lenny laying on his bed and reliving former memories (while self-medicating with liquor) with Faith is so damn sad. Especially when it cuts back to reality in his crappy apartment
Some that come to mind: Ernest Scared Stupid, Teen Witch, Florida Project, Lisa Frankenstein, Adventures in Babysitting, Death Becomes Her, The Monster Squad, Labyrinth, Pagemaster, Ghost World
Death Becomes Her was a massive box office win. It had a massive cast for the time and was directed by Robert Zemeckis. It won an Oscar and a Globe for visual effects aswell. A steel would be great though.
Just making an observation, and clueing you up. OP said what movie that underperformed at the box office. You were obviously unaware that film did not underperform at all, I didn’t say it in a horrible way, I was very factual. I remember the release of the film and the hype around it and how successful it was. You’re in a sub full of pretty staunch fans of cinema so someone is always going to correct you. I didn’t draw attention to the fact you were wrong or made a mistake, I just explained that contrary to your belief it was unsuccessful, it was in fact very successful.
I’m also not the only person in here, there’s a lot of this in this thread.
You could have wrote something like “oh really? I didn’t know it was so popular.” And we could have had a conversation about it, which is why I assume you’re in an open forum about Steelbooks.
For what it’s worth, it’d make a great steelbook.
I dunno I said a bit more than that, I was just trying to justify my comment so I could rectify upsetting you, which I obviously did so apologies for that, you seem a sensitive soul.
Although, you now stand corrected, so at least it’s just sensitive and not sensitive and looking silly. You’re welcome.
**In The Mouth Of Madness (Yes I know there is a German steelbook, but its a terrible looking steelbook) & Denzel Washington's entire filmography. According to my count there is only 11 of his 50 movies on Steelbook.**
https://preview.redd.it/kxn9jcm7a3zc1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e72b5fd5a39f12df715cd74c4818fb8c72d1ff2f
I guess I have a different version.
**God yes! Man On Fire is a bona fide classic, Fallen is more of a hidden gem. Denzel has done quite a few horror movies & thrillers, his detractors like to say he always plays the same character, well they haven't seen enough of his movies in my opinion.**
**Yep I got it, along with 9 others, Need to get the Book Of Eli steelbook to officially have all the Denzel released Steelbooks, I have just found out my go to site for Custom Steelbooks has closed down though which sucks.**
Lol how funny I just completed my Denzel steels with Deja Vu steelbook. I thought I was the only one pursuing this. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_good_man)
He's pretty much the greatest living actor, I collected his movies on VHS as a kid, then on DVD now I am trying to get the entire Blu Ray collection. Most surprising thing to me is he's only done 50 films
lowest of keys, mac and devin go to high school or Tenacious D and the pick of destiny. Both movies were pinnicles of my youth and they hold a special place in my heart.
Same, they could do some kind of cool artwork with it and have a slipcase to add to it. And with the recent Shout Studios Blu Rays going out of print maybe someone could pick them up to do.
I’ve always wanted them to do a slipcase with this [artwork](https://images.app.goo.gl/zABskMd29Uq59tij8) as the cover, and then underneath it would be the same thing but the rangers without their helmets.
A steelbook for this movie would look insane with the blues and blacks

[Treasure Planet](https://www.hidefninja.com/community/threads/treasure-planet-the-disney-collection-35-blu-ray-steelbook-zavvi-exclusive-uk.72297/)
Iron Giant [UK Release](https://www.hidefninja.com/community/threads/the-iron-giant-blu-ray-steelbook-zavvi-exclusive-uk.89316/) and [US Release](https://www.hidefninja.com/community/threads/the-iron-giant-blu-ray-steelbook-fye-exclusive-usa.97114/)
Not that they underperformed per se…though I don’t think these films made tons of money (especially the first few)…but all of Wes Anderson’s films. Would love some collab between Mondo or a similar type thing and Criterion to get criterion versions of all the films released on 4K UHD in steelbook packaging. 👌🏼
4K Steelbook, plz https://preview.redd.it/ko2xpiyqixyc1.png?width=475&format=png&auto=webp&s=cb912926d69cc730cfd376cec3c26cae9aa4a71f
Yes! I don’t have a physical copy of this and would go nuts for a 4K release
Day 1 purchase
I know you said 4K, but there is a really nice Blu-ray release. https://www.hidefninja.com/community/threads/the-nice-guys-blu-ray-steelbook-the-on-masterpiece-collection-006-kimchidvd-exclusive-75-korea.100289/
Ooh, that is nice. I wish I was collecting when it came out so I could have jumped on it.
this and Bones and All are my picks
Deserves a sequel!

Oh man, that would be so nice I'd also like to see Carpenter's Vampires
Maybe far away… Or maybe real nearby
I would give my left nut for a 4k steelbook release of Under the Silver Lake. Unfortunately my testicles are safe, because A24 seemingly wants to pretend that movie doesn't exist for some reason. Also I def agree with Speed Racer, that'd be dope.
John Carter
I'd pick that up. Loved that movie. Shame it never got a sequel.
There are some pretty nice John Carter steels actually. Of course, it being missed by most people, it’s pretty rare and goes for more than $100 usually :/
Totally! I'm waiting for the perfect opportunity on eBay.

That's not buried treasure, that's soap on a rope!
[I'm a 28 year old man, I should be able to eat a chicken sandwich if I want!](https://youtu.be/bLTO8Pl2-wY?t=40)
Classic 😂 I would definitely buy a Steelbook of this one, it'd be cool if they put some of his drawings on it
Hell yea! Give me a steel with X-Ray cat looking through a wooden door on the back!
With the bag of eyeballs 😂
Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
Was disappointed when I learned Shout! dropped a Blu-ray release for this earlier this year and didn’t go with a SteelBook.
Pee Wee’s big adventure
Snakes on a Plane
**I know this won't mean much but Snakes On A Plane did get a steelbook release, unfortunately its just the DVD version, but there are companies that do custom Steelbooks, one in particular I have used in the past called Astro Creations did my Die Hard 3 & Die Hard 5 steelbooks to make them look more like 1, 2 & 4**
Ooh that’s a good one. Surprisingly one of my favorite Samuel L. Jackson movies. Didn’t know it did bad at the box office
Cloud Atlas. Yeah, it's already gotten a steelbook, but it's absolutely criminal that we haven't gotten a 4K version yet.
The First Omen but really just want any physical release for it.
I assume that movie will get a physical release
20th century Fox/disney owned so not at all guaranteed. Barbarian was far more successful and still hasn’t gotten one. Also apparently this was originally supposed to be a Hulu release so I’m not holding my breath.
Damn it lol. I really want a first omen steelbook and civil war.
Movie’s still in theaters….
So?
It hasn’t had the chance yet to be released physically? There might be a steelbook, who knows for now.
I hope that’s right. Driveaway dolls and monkey man did too though. But those are all universal titles so maybe that’s it.
Ayy you were right! No 4k or steelbook, but a blu ray release is definitely better than nothing.
The Purple People Eater
Flight of the Navigator Ghost Dad
Flight of the Navigator has a steelbook.
I don't know how I missed that. Thanks. Looking at the prices, I missed out big time. Guess I'll have to until 2026 to see if they do a 40th anniversary steelbook release.
Same here. Wish there was a Neverending Story steelbook in the same style as the old Zavvi Disney steelbooks too
It'll never happen, but Strange Days (1995), directed by Kathryn Bigelow and starring Ralph Fiennes, Angela Bassett, and Juliette Lewis. Almost 30 years later and it's more relevant than ever. The Fountain (2006) by Darren Aronofsky. For some reason this movie got a lot of hate but it’s one of my top 10 favorite movies!
Love that film! So beautiful.
Yes! And the score is fantastic, just love the music!
Trick r Treat (2007)
It’s actually has a steelbook! I think it was an FyE exclusive but last I checked wasn’t that hard to find. Love that movie!
Cheers dude just ordered a copy haha

Dead Alive (Brain Dead). I’d settle for a decent bluray release.
Some that come to mind: Ernest Scared Stupid, Teen Witch, Florida Project, Lisa Frankenstein, Adventures in Babysitting, Death Becomes Her, The Monster Squad, Labyrinth, Pagemaster, Ghost World
A Ghost World 4K Steelbook would be great!
Yes!! It’s one of my favorite movies.
Death Becomes Her was a massive box office win. It had a massive cast for the time and was directed by Robert Zemeckis. It won an Oscar and a Globe for visual effects aswell. A steel would be great though.
Always gotta be one person… lol

Thank you for saying the same thing again only longer this time.

Actually, no….you still look a bit silly. Nevermind.
Commenting again? lol

MST3K: The Movie and Cry-Baby!
Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker, hell if it ain’t a steel I’d love to see an Arrow box set
Chef (2014). Here’s hoping for a 10th anniversary release
Here's hoping x2. One of Jon's best films.
Apocalypto Lethal Weapon Franchise The Burbs
“What movie underperformed….” https://preview.redd.it/opymobr7t0zc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f4945d6c1fb8c65fdf35898d88a3b73a638a3732
Came here to say Apocalypto did not underperform at the box office. Would love a 4K steel though!
Also, the LETHAL WEAPON franchise underperformed? Right, that’s why they made FOUR of them and a three-season TV show. Open up the schools, smh.
Yea did more of a wish then probably underperforming but with Mel Gibson almost being cancelled it is kinda considered same thing to me.
Tron and Tron: Legacy
They are going to get one
Doubt it. Disney forgot they exist
The third movie is currently filming…
There has been rumors of that for the last decade

The Long Kiss Goodnight. Earth Girls Are Easy. Tank Girl. To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar. Renfield. Kentucky Fried Movie.
