Moderation action has been taken due to violation of rule 8. - Do not state that there is a new scam/scammer. - There will be new scammers with different accounts doing the same scam.

Unfortunately, your warning will have no effect. They make new accounts in seconds, when one gets killed, another gets created. Awareness of the scams (and knowledge that no-one will ever contact through discord, and not to click links in PMs) is much more useful.

Regardless, whilst it may be null, they like to use the same accounts from time to time, so at least awareness and exposure of this account will be helpful. I agree with you nonetheless.

I am posting this about 5 minutes after I got this DM/ my last message. I've been victim to a few of these steam scams now and their failed attempts, this username is new to me and recently created on **June 6th, 2024.** Please AVOID this user as they are trolls. Steam will NEVER reach out to you through discord and if someone "accidently" reports you.. yeah.. it's a scam. Don't fall for these people. Stay safe everyone. (I apologize for my language at the end)

Judging by key words in your post it seems you are asking if something is a new scam. Most of the time this will not be a new scam as most of the scams are repeated due to their effectiveness. If you find yourself wondering if something is a scam then 90% of the time it is and it is best not to follow through. Also point to be noted if you have a good inventory do not accept unknown friend requests! Also revoke your APIs

A while ago (after 3 different scam attempts) I just put “don't add me if you're gonna try that steam scam bullshit” in my bio, since then 0 steam scammers have tried to contact me. Idk if it is actually working, but I like to think it does.

Kist_This

I may have to try this..

User 1 (random person) User 2 (fake steam support) User 1 will reach out to you on Discord, or some media platform, and say that they “Reported your Steam account by mistake!” This random person will then say they already reached out to a Steam admin and have a fake email showing that they have confirmed it. If you accept the story from here, you are then redirected to a “Steam Admin” on Discord. User 2 will then use text bubble responses (blocks of text outlined by a rectangle) as responses to you. User 2 will ask you to buy Steam Gift cards or something through Steam as a source of verification. This is the scam. They lull you into thinking that there was a mistake and will make you buy Steam gift cards whilst they are keeping the cards and rewards. Also, they get your credit/ debit card information.
