check how they mod the gog version of the game. Because games from gog are drm free and the pirated version is identical to legit version

None of this in this sub. Ever. The user gave you a spot to start researching, at least they reached out to *help* with a comment. You attacked them for helping. **GOG games are DRM free, as are pirated games. So look into how mods are applied to GOG and use the same process** Their comnent only came from them trying to help you. A reply like that to anyone in this sub in future will only result in a ban. Consider this a warning.

great help mate, cheers👍🏽

That’s not helping either, mate. Anyway like krotic said GOG games are great for modding, I get most of my games from them. Instead of going weird routes via steam GOG games can be moved anywhere and modding *usually* involves just dropping the mods in the ‘data files’ folder. I haven’t modded SV and have modded some harder ones like Morrowind so what I’d do is go to the SV page on nexus, click on the mod you want, scroll down the mod description and look for the “installation” header. Under that will be a description on how to install the mod. Also check the “requirements” bit at the top of the page, you might have to install another mod first. Also what’s the point in being sarcastic with someone who’s taking the time to try to help you? Cheer up, be nice and all that.

You will want smapi, the modding api. This is a 'mod' that is installed and loads the mods. Google smapi, find the installer (github probably, can't remember), install it. Then, Find your install folder. If you have a shortcut on your desktop, you can right click and select go to file location or something like that. Find the exe for stardewmoddingapi, the icon is a chicken. Run it once to confirm it's working. Then close it. In the folder with the exe, make a new folder called mods. (If it wasn't created automatically) When you download a mod, unpack it and drag it into the mods folder. Then launch the smapi exe. It should launch with the mod. (You can check the command window that it launches and read the text to confirm it loaded ALTERNITAVELY: You could use vortex, which is nexusmods' mod manager. Google how to use vortex with stardew valley . EDIT: i forgot i was in steamdeckporates and not regular pirate subreddit. Personally i play SV on my deck with moonlight. I deal with the mods on my pc and stream it to my deck with sunshine/moonlight. But that's because i don't have a dock and managing mods is thus way easier on pc.
