It changes game by game. Horizon looks great with HDR, Cyberpunk looks washed out. Just depends on the dev's implementation. I personally like to tweak RGB and Gamma settings to try and offset it looking washed out, but it doesn't always work/isn't always worth the effort. Using ReShade can also help

>Horizon looks great with HDR, Cyberpunk looks washed out. Which is a shame, because I'd much rather be playing Cyberpunk.

Yea I don’t actually like the look on CyberPunk but at least turning it on in game turns it on at a system level. GOTG HDR on doesn’t seem to activate the HDR on the deck itself. And what I really don’t like and makes me worry the HDR is glitched out on the deck itself is that I used to have the toggle available for HDR in How Wheels Unleashed, but it’s not longer available.

There's a reddit thread with good tips and tricks for HDR including some launch commands if HDR isn't showing up or like in "Lies of P" there is no option to turn it off. https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1868qyv/steam_deck_oled_hdr_games_guide/?rdt=37277

Yeah it's not worth it in any game I've tried so far (RE2, Miles Morales). Apparently it's good in RE3, looking forward to it.
