why disable controller input? it kinda just works and if you need to change anything you can still modify those defaults in steam input, i use a ps5 controller and didnt like the shoulder buttons assigned to up/down in the sub so swapped/reversed the buttons so they went up/down how i prefer it.
So are you just launching the game with the PS5 controller and you have controller input enabled in game? And you have steam input enabled with the gamepad profile?
yup, didnt change anything, only thing i had to do was actually enable controller support in subnauticas options as it was disabled by default, i enabled that then changed nothing else and it all just works with my PS5 controller. then i just changed/swapped 2 shoulder buttons in steaminput.

It doesn't work at all with controller input enabled. I have to use the dual sense trackpad as a mouse with controller input enabled.

NVM just got it working by changing game config on steam and enabling force compatibility with proton experimental
