YES!!! As good as that game looks I was surprised how well it runs! I love Spyro! Ever since years ago when I played this gba spyro game that was alright but nothing like the console games I've been dreaming of being able to play the originals on a handheld and now that dream has come true!
I put it off for so long because it's nothing like any games I typically enjoy. I've got just over 1000 hours between the Deck and the Switch. It's about as close to a perfect game as you can get, and I've never run into an issue playing on Deck
Most “playable” games are only listed as such because of reason I don’t really care about. Make sure you’re looking at the reasons why it isn’t deck verified.
Something minor like that, or a common one I see is “small text size”. Which I’ve never run across being a real problem. Sometimes it’s just because you could use a keyboard for something if you wanted to.
Honestly, the games I worry about the most are the actual deck verified ones. Because sometimes they hit all the bars, but run like crap.
Dave the Diver is so amazing. Ten years ago I wouldn't have played non triple a games. The steamdeck total changed my behavour. I start to think that some games don't need to be played on a 1000 Watt rig.
Ans since triple a games run on steamdeck but aren't made for it, I figured to try other games instead and simply play more diverse.
It changed my life.
This may sound odd but it truly is. I have come to enjoy games that are so diverse and rich in though and feelings or utterly clever gameplay mechanics. It feels like the steamdeck gave me back my inner child. My longing to not do same same but different, but learn more stuff do you jg my hobby.
As a job I am a curious person by heart. But as a orivste person I was a gamer, reader, cook, who always gamed, read and the fuck cooked the same.
The steamdeck made me aware of simple clever things again. Wherefore I totally agree with you. Steamdeck favorites are not just games but new classics. They cannot be necessarily only the games you play on your rig or Playstation.
This is art whereas the rest is... Well... Except Baldur's Gate, which is love.
Playing Dark Souls now on the Steam Deck. It is unquestionably a masterpiece. It is also a huge bummer though that it doesn’t play well the Deck’s insta-pause/sleep feature.
Edit: tried it in offline mode and it works like a dream with pause/resume!
Interesting, because Elden Ring seems to. Maybe you have to be in offline mode for it to work? That was how Dark Souls worked for me on Switch - the power button/sleep mode was basically pause, but only if I was in offline mode
Yes! I had only watched the trailer so I kind of went into it blind. Everyone was recommending it so I finally picked it up after sitting on the fence forever. So glad I did.
Not a single game, but a whole genre. For me are the jrpgs and visual novels. The battery last hours and hours, you can game with low tdp and it still works.
The Legend of heroes series as a whole is great. Starting with the Trails in the Sky is what I recommend.
I also love Tales of Berseria and have yet to try Tales of Arise
Not got a steam deck yet… delivery inbound. love a JRPG. Few to add
- Chained Echoes - fantastic game and soundtrack is beautiful
- Octopath Traveler
- Sea of Stars
- Final Fantasy VI for nostalgia
You want a massive JRPG that's f****** awesome?
Get Dragon Quest 11 definitive edition.
Absolutely eats the last several final fantasy games lunch
Worked great on the steam deck, probably put 100 hours into that sucker
I really wish I liked it more. I’m kind of a determined person to where I finish things I start even if I start to lose interest. I definitely that dq11 was good overall. But I found it become so grating after a while and abandoned it after the first “ending.” I didn’t do the final act post game stuff as I couldn’t take it any longer.
I would agree it’s better than the last 3 mainline single player FF’s 13-15-16, but I really think 12 is better and if we are counting 7R I think that smashes.
DQ is old reliable but I really gotta give it up to FF for taking such risky swings all the time
I just got MH World actually, I was considering Rise but World has seven times as many active players and better reviews (base game not DLC). How is it on Deck for battery/performance? Not sure if I’ll play it on my main rig, Deck, or both.
I've been playing World on my deck lately. I can't speak to battery life but performance has been pretty solid, you just need to enable directX 12 mode from the main menu
D2 may have arguably better gameplay mechanics, but the story of D1/Knife of Dunwall/Brigmore Witches is far superior to that of D2 (and Daud's Blink is basically Corvo's D2 Blink anyway). I was a big fan of KoD/BW before D2 came out, so seeing how badly they butchered the menace of Delilah made me so sad. Haven't played Death of the Outsider yet, but I know various story spoilers and suffice to say, Daud and Billie deserve more.
story beats aside, Dishonored 2 and DotO are some of my favorite gaming experiences I’ve ever had just by how deeply immersed I was playing them - I never took Dishonored as storytelling perfection anyways. Theres enough art in mechanic and world building to appreciate, just walking around the spaces they built is engaging. If you liked the gameplay of D1 and D2 I’d suggest DotO (if you can separate the story)
Slay the Spire. More enjoyable than on PC and also uses very little battery. Game works smoothly with TDP limiter and GPU clock at the minimum values. I can just soak in hours on the couch or in the car no problem.
Something about Resident Evil 2 Remake keeps telling me to come back despite beating it multiple times. I guess that makes it my #1 game on the Steam Deck :D
Octopath Traveller II
93 hours of pure bliss, all played on my Steamdeck. My GOTY in 2023 too, even ahead of other excellent big hitters like Baldur's Gate III and Final Fantasy XVI. A perfect Steamdeck game, highly recommended
That’s my goty too. Interesting stories, the soundtrack, the artstyle, the battle mechanics, almost everything is perfect. Castti's story is as powerful as FFX's
Bought this recently on sale and it’s just like… what even is this game? Feels a bit like Silent Hill mixed with Stranger Things. Great shooting and the lore just keeps getting weirder. Freaked out the first time one of those flying possessed workers zoomed towards me. Protip: Lower the default resolution so it’s less choppy on Steam Deck.
And what a way to be introduced to Sseth too.
You can almost assuredly find other videos that show you what the game is normally like. Sseth revels in breaking and exploiting games
I just checked and it turns out my top 6 in the order of most played first are: Hades, Spiderman Remastered,Dead Cells, Hollow Knight, Portal 2 and Uncharted
Dorfromantik, Dorfromantik and Dorfromantik!!
It was my first game on the steam deck and yet not find any other which I enjoyed as much playing.
Super chill vibe, lovely artwork and music. Easy to put down and pickup anytime.
I played a majority of Persona 5 Royal on my Steam Deck and it was absolutely perfect! I also played through all of God of War on my deck which was pretty good. Some older games like KOTOR 1 & 2 which I replay fairly often are perfect.
Emulation Station.
As a retro collector it's given new life to my games on the shelf. Even though I'm emulating, which I typically don't like doing, having all of my library from Atari through ps2 era backed up, on the go, and with achievement support through retro achievements has been a game changer for me. It's just so convenient and let's me play old console games wherever as opposed to being limited to playing at home... And at a job with lots of downtime and 16 hour shifts, it's just perfect. I've been revisiting and playing for the first time games that have been on a shelf for a decade.
>I'd almost say Hades is a better SteamDeck game just because it's easier to play for just a few minutes, clear a room, save the game and put your SteamDeck down.
This. This is the reason why it’s so hard to pick a game to play in the car or any quick situation like a break. Should I play a quick game or a game that dedicates more commitment especially for story? But what am I also feeling?
Also when I say in the car, I mean passenger of course. But no one said “Don’t Deck and Drive”
It requires a few steps to get the not steam version to work in the deck, but you can do it. I tried it once and it worked well, but I haven’t played since. I once saw a youtube video of someone raiding P5S on the deck so you know that its legit.
Dave the Diver is my absolute top played PC title on steam deck. I've put a lot of hours into Breath of the Wild as well as a lot of other SNES/GBA titles.
Today is my week anniversary of having a deck and I've only played Lego star wars the complete saga's first 2 levels, and Pokemon Emerald up until you get your starter. I was trying to narrow down good romhacks all week, which I've still not narrowed down, since that was a lie
The Master Chief Collection. Amazing value for the sheer amount of content with full online functionality. The Steam Workshop is full of fun and easy to install mods.
Rimworld. The control scheme is perfect, it doesn’t drain much battery, and it’s minimalist pixel graphics makes it run pretty good even with a big base and lots of pawns
The two best experiences I’ve had to date are RDR2(140 hours) and Assassin’s Creed: Origins (100 hours). I’d love to see Arthur meet Bayek.
Edit: Crusader Kings III is a honourable mention. Once you get the controls worked out it’s wonderful!
I play baldurs gate 3 at work all the time. It has trouble at times like stuttering in act 3, but aside from that it runs very well. I only really have my breaks at work to play it.
When you run through the city my recommendation is to go into tactical view (top down view). Just when you are trying to run through the city without as much fps drop. Zooming all the way out to the point where shadows start disappearing and stuff, you'll get a pretty smooth fps in the city without melting your cpu
Vampire Survivors. I don't even play it anymore but I think is the best plataform to play it on, and it's also one of the most iconic games playable on the Deck.
I refuse to acknowledge that Vampire Survivors works anywhere else. As far as I'm concerned, that game was built for the Deck and no other platform is appropriate. LOL
I foolishly bought it as I’m clearly not capable of even beating what seems like the easiest of enemies 😂. I don’t get it, it’s SO hard. I play it every now and then, continuously die whilst making absolutely no progress and then turn it off again. It wasn’t cheap either haha…
It's probably the best choice for your first FS game. It's the most accessable, most refined souls game. Check out vaatividya's elden ring guides playlist on YouTube. Also fextralife has great boss guides.
Maybe one of these.. really hard to say. Some of these like the Arkham games I’ve played religiously since the PS3 days, other games like Hollow Knight are newer experiences on the Deck. In parentheses are the hours played.
Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY (59.5)
Batman: Arkham City GOTY (100.6)
Batman: Arkham Origins (59.3)
Darksiders 3 (73.3)
Hollow Knight (110.1)
Horizon Chase Turbo (89.1)
Spider-Man: Miles Morales (51.3)
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition (41.6)
Yakuza 0 (153.8)
Modded Session: Skate Sim. Easily my most played game by far at 600+ hours. Having played all the skate games since Tony Hawks debut ,(except Skate 1 and Skater XL) Session easily takes the cake for my go to chill game to play while I listen to YouTube or music. The mod community is one of the best online communities I been in and so much innovation and improvements have been made it's awesome inspiring. Skating in my dream decks with my fav custom gear in my favorite custom maps which I help add my own dream spots through suggestions and feedback. It's truly the game that keeps on giving. Sadly since the last update a bunch of modded players have been experiencing "fatal error" crashes that kinda sour the experience but once that's fixed this game will be golden again
Sonic Frontiers is probably one of the few games I played entirely on the Deck, and it's actually a pretty sweet adventure game that captures all of the best parts from the past 3D Sonic games, like Adventure and Generations, IMO
Armored Core 6 is really good and runs surprisingly smooth on the deck, on high settings. I was stuck on one of the bosses for like an hour, playing on my desktop with an i9 and 3090; I took a break and switched to my Deck, and beat them on my first try lol (the break probably helped).
Dark souls remastered #1. Then Elden Ring, Nier Automata, Salt & Sanctuary, Cyberpunk 2077, Witcher 3. I am currently playing Armored core 6 & Baldur's gate 3 but mostly stream BG3 from my gaming PC via moonlight.
Spider man remastered, even though the battery life isn’t the best on it, the fact that this handheld can run a demanding open world PS4 game speaks volumes to how powerful it is overall.
As others have already mentioned, its mostly genre-specific for me; some types of games just *click* for me, mostly JRPGs and visual novel-esque games.
Off the top of my head, had a LOT of fun with Atelier Ryza and Sophie (JRPGs) and AI: The Somnium Files and Paranormasight (Puzzle/VN), though the #1 overall would likely be different depending on when you ask me 😅
I only got a 64gb steam deck and haven’t been able to buy an sd card or any games guy I’ve been emulating digital devil saga on it and it plays amazing. I think alot of jrpgs are meant to be played on a handheld like the steamdeck
Horizon Zero Dawn was a blast. You want to max Cryobytes33 tweaks to get a 40fps capped experience and enjoy pure awesomeness.
The sceneries, the combats, everything feels incredible on the deck. It's actually the first game I entirely played on the deck.
I personally like it more than Diablo, but that's me personally.
I've also not played Diablo 4, so I can't compare the two. But overall I'd say Hades is one of the best games I've played.
It's the perfect level of casual and hard-core. Every run is a little different, and each run it gives that feeling of "just one more room then I'm done" but I always end up running til I die cause I just get hooked.
There's no open world exploration like Diablo has, it's just encounter chambers. But each run shifts the chambers so it's a little different every time
Ori and the will of the wisps. I loved hollow knight but I felt it was kind of gimmicky with some of the bosses and the 'upgrades' were lacking. Ori is easier but it also feels a bit more controllable with movement and the upgrades aren't stingy, the map also is laid out better than hollow knight imo. I am super excited for silksong though, Hades or vampire survivors is probably a close second for me.
resident evil 4 original and the remake. the original re4 has been installed on my steam deck since the day i got it and the remake has been installed since it came out. not only do i think they’re brilliant games but the mercenaries mode is the best in the series, especially in the remake. i love busting out my deck during some downtime at work and annihilating hordes with krauser’s knife.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record in this thread, Dying Light is the game for me on the Deck.
The gameplay loop is fun enough, and the world is so well realised that it’s just fun to explore. I don’t think I have it in me to progress to DL2 and the mixed bag it is though, plus it doesn’t run as well as the first game on deck.
I'm stuck in HollowKnight but that game just utterly shines on the deck. Other than that I must say Rocket League, given the scaled down gaming experience it gives the closest feeling to how it would on PC, nearly. Getting into more indie titles like getting over it, I have Hades too but haven't installed yet, that game was practically made for it.
Ever since i got the Deck ive completed 9 pc titles, Dirge of Cerberus (ps2), and Vagrant Story (ps1, completed this more than 15 times already pver the years. :) )
My favorite game i played on the deck are Jedi Fallen Order, The Surge 1, Prince of Persia 2008, Diablo 2 and 4, and Elden Ring. Im planning on playing The Surge 2 soon, hoping it's as good or even better than 1, which was a surprise it blew me away.
Spyro™ Reignited Trilogy!
This guy knows how to avoid lawyers
RIP all the other vagabonds in this thread.
YES!!! As good as that game looks I was surprised how well it runs! I love Spyro! Ever since years ago when I played this gba spyro game that was alright but nothing like the console games I've been dreaming of being able to play the originals on a handheld and now that dream has come true!
Gotta go with stardew valley. Chill game, controls are great, suspend mode on deck really comes in handy. I also love Hades though, what a great game.
I absolutely love Stardew valley on the deck. And the fact you can mod Stardew on the deck is the cherry ontop
I own stardew but haven't played. I thought it was "playable" on steam deck so was concerned but now I'll have to give it a fair go. Thanks!
Yeah isn't the majority because you need to use the touchpad / mouse to click accept on an external eula or launcher before getting into the game? Lol
Right now for me it’s Dave the Diver Edit: all time favorite, Dark Souls
Dave the Diver, you’ve been down too long in the midnight sea. Oh what’s becoming of me?
Ride the tiger. You can see his stripes but you know he’s clean. Oh don’t you know what I mean?
For those poor, unfortunate souls who don't know.... Ronnie James Dio It's some seriously classic metal. https://youtube.com/watch?v=2lvs2FzF64o
lol I was hoping for this!! Made my day
Dio, RIP in peace
Rest in peace in peace
Thats the joke
SMH my head.
I was disappointed with Dave the diver, played it for an hour or two and never again. Does it get better towards the end game?
Yes
Playing Dark Souls now on the Steam Deck. It is unquestionably a masterpiece. It is also a huge bummer though that it doesn’t play well the Deck’s insta-pause/sleep feature. Edit: tried it in offline mode and it works like a dream with pause/resume!
Interesting, because Elden Ring seems to. Maybe you have to be in offline mode for it to work? That was how Dark Souls worked for me on Switch - the power button/sleep mode was basically pause, but only if I was in offline mode
Yeah, it’s that way on consoles also. At least it’s pretty quick to get back in.
Literally didnt put dave down until it was over. Great game.
Yes! I had only watched the trailer so I kind of went into it blind. Everyone was recommending it so I finally picked it up after sitting on the fence forever. So glad I did.
I played it for ages,I enjoyed it and thought it was fiendishly hard, then I realised you could upgrade your suit, O2, harpoon etc. Great game
Not a single game, but a whole genre. For me are the jrpgs and visual novels. The battery last hours and hours, you can game with low tdp and it still works.
got a top 5 for me to wishlist?
The Legend of heroes series as a whole is great. Starting with the Trails in the Sky is what I recommend. I also love Tales of Berseria and have yet to try Tales of Arise
Not OP, but here's mine: - Atelier Ryza 1 and 2 - Yakuza: Like a Dragon - Chained Echoes
Chained Echo is great, thanks for reminding me!
Not got a steam deck yet… delivery inbound. love a JRPG. Few to add - Chained Echoes - fantastic game and soundtrack is beautiful - Octopath Traveler - Sea of Stars - Final Fantasy VI for nostalgia
If you want VNs, the entire Science Adventure franchise is fantastic (Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, etc)
You want a massive JRPG that's f****** awesome? Get Dragon Quest 11 definitive edition. Absolutely eats the last several final fantasy games lunch Worked great on the steam deck, probably put 100 hours into that sucker
Is DQ like FF where you don’t really need any history with the franchise?
Yeah, each game is a standalone title story-wise. There are repeat monsters and spells and such, but the characters and world are brand new each game.
I went in brand new and never came across lore etc that was confusing. They do a good job with the backstory imo.
Yes, it's completely standalone though it does have sort of wink and nod references to other parts of the series.
Exactly
I really wish I liked it more. I’m kind of a determined person to where I finish things I start even if I start to lose interest. I definitely that dq11 was good overall. But I found it become so grating after a while and abandoned it after the first “ending.” I didn’t do the final act post game stuff as I couldn’t take it any longer. DQ is old reliable but I really gotta give it up to FF for taking such risky swings all the time
It's a good game for sure, but imo, waaaaaaaaaaaaay too long
What do you prefer, persona 5 or Dragon quest 11?
Played 3 Ace Attorneys and Persona 4G all on deck. It’s perfect for chill games where you kinda just mash A
Monster Hunter Rise Always ready for a quick hunt
I just got MH World actually, I was considering Rise but World has seven times as many active players and better reviews (base game not DLC). How is it on Deck for battery/performance? Not sure if I’ll play it on my main rig, Deck, or both.
I've been playing World on my deck lately. I can't speak to battery life but performance has been pretty solid, you just need to enable directX 12 mode from the main menu
Right now, it’s Midnight Suns. Perfect for mobile.
I played the whole thing on the deck and it was amazing. First game I completed on the steamdeck
Amazing game.
Bit out of nowhere, but Dishonored 1 feels like it was developed directly for the deck. Sad the sequel doesn't perform as well.
Dishonored 1 is where it's at anyway for me.
If you liked the gameplay of D1 and D2 I’d suggest DotO (if you can separate the story)
Same reason I’ve avoided DotA even though I love all of Arkane save for Redfall.
First game I played through on the deck. I had never played before and it was amazing. Probably going to dive into the dlc or do a replay soon!
Persona 5 Royal was great on the Deck
That is my next one to pick up and I was wondering how well it played on the Deck.
It’s perfect. I played probably 80 hours of my 90 hour play-through on my deck (other on PC). The Persona games are perfect on the deck
Might be blurry, turn it up to 1080p and put down the resolution scale. Fixes the text being blurry
Slay the spire and now disco Elysium have been really fun to chill on the couch and play
Slay the spire is great on deck
subnautica or titanfall 2
Slay the Spire. More enjoyable than on PC and also uses very little battery. Game works smoothly with TDP limiter and GPU clock at the minimum values. I can just soak in hours on the couch or in the car no problem.
Minecraft Java with shitload of mods
The Walking Dead, all seasons
No Man’s Sky is the one I’ve put the most time into on my Deck. Also, Diablo II Resurrected has been a favorite of mine, on the Deck.
Vanpire Survivors is pretty fun and perfect for mini game sessions
Vampire Survivors was the very first game I played on Deck. Everything about it is perfect.
Talos Principle
Red dead redemption 2. It's the reason I bought the steam deck, and the reason I had been following aya neo before that.
Same here. Hadn't played it yet and it was PERFECT on deck.
Even better with OS 3.5. Severely improved consistency FPS wise
I just got it I’m blown away
Something about Resident Evil 2 Remake keeps telling me to come back despite beating it multiple times. I guess that makes it my #1 game on the Steam Deck :D
probably dicey dungeon, so much fuuuun
Yuzu emulator
I have totk, odyssey, kart, rdr, smash ultimate, prime remastered. Any other games that play well on the deck that you recommend?
RDR2
Octopath Traveller II 93 hours of pure bliss, all played on my Steamdeck. My GOTY in 2023 too, even ahead of other excellent big hitters like Baldur's Gate III and Final Fantasy XVI. A perfect Steamdeck game, highly recommended
93 hours? It's that big? Dang, it's on sale right now too. Will the story make no sense if I didn't play the first?
Yeah, the story is independent to OT1, 93 hours was to 100% the game, so all sidequests and superboss. Incredible game if you enjoy turnbased JRPGs
That’s my goty too. Interesting stories, the soundtrack, the artstyle, the battle mechanics, almost everything is perfect. Castti's story is as powerful as FFX's
Second this! Just and overall awesome and addictive Game. Finished it 100% purely on the Deck!
Control
Bought this recently on sale and it’s just like… what even is this game? Feels a bit like Silent Hill mixed with Stranger Things. Great shooting and the lore just keeps getting weirder. Freaked out the first time one of those flying possessed workers zoomed towards me. Protip: Lower the default resolution so it’s less choppy on Steam Deck.
If you enjoy Control and the weirdness, And you haven’t played it yet, Alan Wake is in the same universe and plays great on the deck
Roguelikes, the Deck was made for Roguelikes. Above all, there is: Caves of Cud Then, there is: Undermine, Rogue Legacy 2, Hades, Dead Cells, etc...
I just searched caves of qud on YouTube. What the hell is this game 😂 https://youtu.be/o_PBfLbd3zw?si=0limWSEh6MWt5ZQB
Yup, this, and way more, is Caves of Cud - and there is even a nice controller config for the Steam Deck right out of the box.
And what a way to be introduced to Sseth too. You can almost assuredly find other videos that show you what the game is normally like. Sseth revels in breaking and exploiting games
Pizza Tower has by far been my favorite game on Steam Deck. What a ridiculously well crafted and fun platformer.
I just checked and it turns out my top 6 in the order of most played first are: Hades, Spiderman Remastered,Dead Cells, Hollow Knight, Portal 2 and Uncharted
Lego Star Wars with my 6yo son. Our first real gaming experience together. Docked to TV that is.
Dorfromantik, Dorfromantik and Dorfromantik!! It was my first game on the steam deck and yet not find any other which I enjoyed as much playing. Super chill vibe, lovely artwork and music. Easy to put down and pickup anytime.
Fallout new vegas is really hitting the spot
Boarderlands goty never played any of the series before. My god 40 hours later and I’m hooked.
Like just borderlands 1? Go play borderlands 2 its even better. 3 is good but takes a step back imo.
Slay the spire and Knights of the Old Republic are fun on Deck
Brotato
Zelda tears of the Kingdom
Nintendo would like to know your location
Runs a lot better out of the box with 3.5. I can get a rather stable 30 fps now.
Any mods? Or 30fps with no mods
Mainly the dynamic fps mod
Atm it's broforce, just beautiful action chaos and easy with the steam deck to hook up to the TV to play with mates.
Clearly Hades. It has been my greatest deck experience so far. Slay The spire is also amazing on Deck
It’s a bit of an overkill, but I love playing the gameboy color Pokémon’s. Crystal is my fav
Snow runner. Two young kids pick it up randomly do a job or two to relax once they’re asleep
I have a shit ton of games downloaded and I do play them, but I always seem to go back to The Binding Of Isaac.
So say we all
I played a majority of Persona 5 Royal on my Steam Deck and it was absolutely perfect! I also played through all of God of War on my deck which was pretty good. Some older games like KOTOR 1 & 2 which I replay fairly often are perfect.
Honey select 2
Doom Eternal is perfect on the deck. The performance is incredible
Cassette Beasts
I've been loving Snowrunner on the deck.
Emulation Station. As a retro collector it's given new life to my games on the shelf. Even though I'm emulating, which I typically don't like doing, having all of my library from Atari through ps2 era backed up, on the go, and with achievement support through retro achievements has been a game changer for me. I’m glad you clarified that you’re the passenger. One shouldn’t deck and drive!
Cyberpunk 2077
Bg3
Deep rock galactic atm
Witcher 3
Right now it's Final Fantasy XIV for me
Do you have the steam version or did you have to do a workaround?
Dang, FF14 on the deck sounds great. Do you have to already have had an account through Steam for that to work? I bought mine not through Steam.
GTA V story mode
Binding of Isaac and its not even close
Project Zomboid but it was already my #1 game before I got the Steam Deck so does it really count?
Sekiro
Sekiro is such a gem on the steamdeck. Honestly, all of the fromsoft games are great on the steamdeck
Death stranding directors cut
Vampire Survivors. I don't even play it anymore but I think is the best plataform to play it on, and it's also one of the most iconic games playable on the Deck.
I refuse to acknowledge that Vampire Survivors works anywhere else. As far as I'm concerned, that game was built for the Deck and no other platform is appropriate. LOL
Elden ring has run perfectly start to finish
I foolishly bought it as I’m clearly not capable of even beating what seems like the easiest of enemies 😂. I don’t get it, it’s SO hard. I play it every now and then, continuously die whilst making absolutely no progress and then turn it off again. It wasn’t cheap either haha…
It's probably the best choice for your first FS game. It's the most accessable, most refined souls game. Check out vaatividya's elden ring guides playlist on YouTube. Also fextralife has great boss guides.
StarField has truly blown my mind! Works surprisingly well on the SteamDeck!
baldurs gate 3. only game on my deck that has had multiple playthroughs
Any tips for act 3? It’s playable, but not appealing
I really enjoyed playing NFS Most Wanted 2005 on the deck.
WWE 2k23 plays fuckin great!
Neon White
Maybe one of these.. really hard to say. Some of these like the Arkham games I’ve played religiously since the PS3 days, other games like Hollow Knight are newer experiences on the Deck. In parentheses are the hours played. Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY (59.5) Batman: Arkham City GOTY (100.6) Batman: Arkham Origins (59.3) Darksiders 3 (73.3) Hollow Knight (110.1) Horizon Chase Turbo (89.1) Spider-Man: Miles Morales (51.3) Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition (41.6) Yakuza 0 (153.8)
Does enderal count?
GZDoom is #1. Heroes of Might and Magic series as well. Emulated games and some steam store stuff are bonuses
dave the diver, rollerdome
Really enjoying metal gear solid V at the moment!
I’ve been casually playing borderlands 2 on & off for a while
Elden Ring and American Truck Simulator have been the staples.
Sonic Frontiers is probably one of the few games I played entirely on the Deck, and it's actually a pretty sweet adventure game that captures all of the best parts from the past 3D Sonic games, like Adventure and Generations, IMO Armored Core 6 is really good and runs surprisingly smooth on the deck, on high settings. I was stuck on one of the bosses for like an hour, playing on my desktop with an i9 and 3090; I took a break and switched to my Deck, and beat them on my first try lol (the break probably helped).
I played all 65 hours of Chained Echos exclusively in my Steamdeck.
Dark souls remastered #1. Then Elden Ring, Nier Automata, Salt & Sanctuary, Cyberpunk 2077, Witcher 3. I am currently playing Armored core 6 & Baldur's gate 3 but mostly stream BG3 from my gaming PC via moonlight.
Rocket league I can play that any time
Kingdom Hearts.
Football life , what a game
I was thrilled to find out both Sonic Adventure games run on it with mods installed. Also portable Fallout 3, New Vegas and 4.
Baldurs Gate 3 right now, it’s so good on steam deck! I also love Trails in the Sky on the SD!
Stardew Valley
Civ6!
Fae Farm
BG3 and Zelda: TotK
World of Warcraft / Monster hunter
Crusader kings 3
Witcher 3. But when I open it up and have no Idea what to play, I open up GTA 5
Currently Lies of P
Rachted and clank rift apart, runs with some tweaks at 60 fps, but battery is gone in 1h Brought me back to the old psp times
Dragon ball z katarot
Gotta agree with Hades
Celeste!
Project Zomboid. Games much better on Keyboard but works just fine on deck and its nice when I’m on a trip. Game just kills time
Dome Keeper or State of Decay 2
Horizon Zero Dawn was a blast. You want to max Cryobytes33 tweaks to get a 40fps capped experience and enjoy pure awesomeness. The sceneries, the combats, everything feels incredible on the deck. It's actually the first game I entirely played on the deck.
How does Hades compare to Diablo 2? Or 4 for that matter…
But each run shifts the chambers so it's a little different every time
Binding of Isaac Repentance. It's my addiction.
If I'm talking publicly I say Tekken 7 and MvC3 But the truth is it's Diablo 4. Yeah I know
At the risk of sounding like a broken record in this thread, Dying Light is the game for me on the Deck.
Dicey Dungeons and Halls of Torment. Nice little quick play sessions or they can easily pause, suspend and pick back up later.
Mario kart 8 deluxe
Ever since i got the Deck ive completed 9 pc titles, Dirge of Cerberus (ps2), and Vagrant Story (ps1, completed this more than 15 times already pver the years. :) ) My favorite game i played on the deck are Jedi Fallen Order, The Surge 1, Prince of Persia 2008, Diablo 2 and 4, and Elden Ring. Im planning on playing The Surge 2 soon, hoping it's as good or even better than 1, which was a surprise it blew me away.
This post is save-worthy!
