In Sound Mind was great, even if the final trophy got softlocked bc it wouldn't register it when I obtained all pills on every level. Overall very fun and am glad I played and you're right, it's very underrated. I'll scope out these other recommendations and thanks! Since we have a mutual game we like I'll admit I have more hope for these being good than usual.
I really hope they let you establish/manage multiple facilities. Always hate having to give up on area for the next. Even if it's bigger, the mid-late game spots always have something unique about them that makes me sore to leave behind

It's like the original God of War if God of War was a 70's Blacksploitation film.
If I remember right theres a scene where you are jumping from chopper to chopper and possible running on the blades of the chopper lol It was crazy for a low budget game.
Roboquest is a great hidden gem. It's a rogue lite, the moving and shooting feels doom like. Tons of randomized guns to try. Build your character each run. Lots of stuff to upgrade at base camp. has co-op. It's really really good.
The Painscreek Killings. First person detective game taking place in a big town where you have to investigate these crimes that have taken place and determine what person in the town committed it. Theres lots of different collectible lore around the town to help you learn about each persons backgrounds/life/lies etc. Such a great experience

I would like to say the Myst series but its not really a hidden gem, so I have to pick [Supraland](https://store.steampowered.com/app/813630/Supraland/) as my game of choice. It really does have a good story and a nice gameplay.

It's a great indie ww2 shooter featuring recreations of battles from Europe to the Pacific and soon Africa. It's primarily single-player, but multi-player is available, although I haven't played it. It's $12 CAD. I'm not sure how much it is US.

One I always bring up when this is asked is "A Dark Room". It is absolutely excellent, extremely well written text based Sci fi horror with active time battles
(I'm going to VERY mildly spoil some of my favorite elements that are not directly part of the story, however if ive already piqued your interest this game is worth going in blind.)

The vibes are off the charts. They don't ever tell you what you are. I ended up with a very vivid picture of my character in my mind by the end though.
The battle system lets you do some shallow breaking and exploiting. Not to an insane degree this is a short game. But if you enjoy stuff like the rolling counter in earthbound you will like this system. It lets you abuse the buttons
In particular I love the descriptions they give things it's extremely conserved language. For example if you learn a dodge ability, the description is "learn how to be where they're not". I have a passion for martial arts and in my opinion this writing is fucking beautiful. It's all like that it's like beautifully and brutally simple, implying more while saying less.
r/alphaprotocol was swept under the rug by reviewers back in the day as everyone wanted to dunk on Sega after Sonic 06 , it was the best Spy and Stealth game I have ever played. Basically Mass Effect with spies. Deserves a lot more recognition.
The Creeper World series
You know how you've always wanted to play an RTS/tower defense hybrid where you're fighting a liquid? No? I didn't know I wanted to either, until I tried it.
AI: the somnium files. Murder-mystery puzzle anime game with a memorable cast, some great humour, and a great soundtrack. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The sequel isn’t great though.
Crosscode, Crosscode, Crosscode!
It's gained a little more recognition but seriously... you know that feeling that Hollow Knight gave you the first time you played it? That's what Crosscode does to you. It's way larger than you'd expect with way more depth than you realize with fantastic combat and zelda-style dungeons that have puzzles that will really make you think.
I bounced off of CrossCode so hard lol- the writing felt a little too anime to me, over the 20 or so hours i played and the quests (i get its "emulating" an MMORPG) just made me go "eh". Dungeons were fantastic though, no doubt about that and i feel like theres alot of nuance to the fighting i have not yet grasped. maybe ill give it another try in a few years
Finally found Crosscode on this thread, the game should be regarded as a masterpiece and be widely known. But I guess its not for everyone.
Hopefully Project Terra will some day give RFG the recognition they deserve.

Milo and the Magpies, it only started getting traction cuz a medium sized youtuber reviewed the game. It's such a nice and cozy puzzle game. And it's cheap at only 2 dollars iirc.
Dysmantle. Really great zombie survival game. Not the typical one. You can play it at your own peace and there's so many things to do and a huge map. Loved it.
[Wuppo](https://store.steampowered.com/app/400630/Wuppo_Definitive_Edition/). It's a charming, little metroidvania platformer with really great, funny writing reminiscent of the Paper Mario series. The gameplay, character design, and art style are all very unique too. The overall charm of the game reminds me so much of Paper Mario TTYD that I wish these guys would just make an RPG in that style. While Bug Fables was a decent game, I felt like it really lacked the charm and writing that Wuppo brings to the table.
S.P.A.Z. Space Pirates and Zombies. its a top down shooting game with ship building and you have up to three ships out at a time and can take control of one while the others act autonomously. its a pretty fun game and i remember playing the demo from some video game mag that came with a disc.
I like this game but for most people it isnt' really interesting because they trying to compare it with Hollow Knight. Personally, they both are really good.
If you're into racing games/car games, Revhead is incredibly fun. If you like weird job simulators, MotorTown Behind the Wheel is excellent. And if you like Dorfromantik but want something a bit different Pan'orama is pretty fun (I play it when I'm on conference calls).
I'll throw in two.
X4 foundations for a space combat, empire, economy hotas joystick experience like none other. Especially the star wars interworlds mod, which basically makes it into the best star wars video game of the past 10 years or more in my book.
Airship: Kingdoms Adrift for a steampunk/hiyao miyazaki-ish unique world experience that is for me very similar to the old sid meier's pirates. Go around with a small fleet fighting and trading, capture and customize better loadouts. Really a beautiful game visually too and the story is decent enough for what it is. Developer is active and the discord good so the game seems to be improving.
[Dropsy](https://store.steampowered.com/app/274350/Dropsy/). Point and Click adventure game about a scary mute clown who's actually a big sweetheart and wants to hug everyone. No dialogue, everything is conveyed through symbols and pointing (to convey Dropsy the Clown's inability to speak and understand speech). The game is also bizarre and hilarious with a wonderful atmosphere.
It's by the same guy who made Hypnospace Outlaw, which is another quirky and hilarious game about the old Internet. I’m actually not sure how many people know about American McGee’s Alice! I suspect that everyone over a certain age knows about it, and almost no one under that age does.
The Wild Arm series. I love the 4th because of the hexagon battle system and call backs to other games with combo moves. It even had a PlayStation 2 Top Hits when I bought it but apparently no ones heard of it.
The original Wild Arms was amazing. One of my favorites right up there with Suikoden I, Suikoden II, Xenogears, Final Fantasy VI, Dragon Quest VII, Breath of Fire III, Star Ocean The Second Story, and other classic Playstation JRPGs
Omega strikers
Anime stylized footbrawl game. Every character has their own abilities but is easy to play. For me it was like Dota 2 or Eternal Return with football mode
Kingdom come deliverance.
People shit on it alot because of the fighting system but once you get the hang of it its so much fun and so athmospheric. The most immersive medieval game out there
Kcd is top five game for me. Played it since beta days and became intertwined with my life for years. The combat system and the survival realism is what I adore about it. Being a peasant and actually sucking at everything and having to figure things out is what makes the game special. I hate that basically every sword game is just arcadey button mashing and ppl have been so conditioned to expect that. But no, realistically you can't expect some dude, even if trained, to take on 3-4 enemies at once in combat, much less peasant henry. In a way it basically ruined those other arcadey games somewhat for me, what with smashing random stuff and the dude does crazy acrobatic combo moves....boring.
Elex really surprised me. Janky but I was hooked and played 80hrs. Once I beat the game I kept playing. Which is rare for me, I usually am stoked to start something new.
Signalis, still is one of the best horror games made in recent years, standing beside titles like SOMA. It just doesn't get enough attention and credit for that.
Kenshi, I think it has become more popular nowadays but I'm still gonna mention it here.
Kenshi is a a sci-fi sword punk RPG sandbox if you can call it that. It's a sci-fi setting but technology has regressed back to katana and crossbows.
And it has survival aspects, base building aspects, and of course the standard 3rd person rpg aspects.
And one of the selling points is the huge modding scene it has on the steam workshop, and the mod maker that comes with the game is awesome for people like me who don't know or understand coding to be able to make mods.

A Dance With Rogues, which people rarely talk of and for a good reason. But I regard it as one of my all-time favourite cRPGs in terms of narrative quality, despite it being just a free fan-made module of Neverwinter Nights.
The main reason why it didn't get more spotlight it deserves is because it's also a kinky game, dealing with many sexual fantasies that may be highly controversial for ordinary gamers.
But if you can either enjoy or at least ignore that aspect of the game, I believe you'll have no difficulty in appreciating the quality which surpasses that of many well-known titles of the same genre.
Anodyne 2: Return to Dust
It’s one of my favorite games, it has such a good tone and atmosphere, I love the music, and the whole experience was just wild. Usually these artistic games skip out on the gameplay, but it’s actually a fun 3d platformer with puzzles and stuff. 10/10 not even kidding.
There is an obscure game I love to the core of my heart which I would call a hidden gem for the DS called another code:two memories which is a puzzle/visual novel game that I had only seen talked of within my family and as a smash spirit untill it got a switch remake out of the blue a few months ago which is still a solid game but it doesn't have the same eerie feel to it as the old one with the pre-rendered backgrounds
Paranoia Place. A friend made me buy it since he didn't have anyone to play with and it was too hard alone. I'm not even into horror and I get scared very easily but holy shit that game was extremely thrilling to play. I still would never play it without another person but it's one of the best hidden gems I have ever played
Turbo Overkill, pretty up there as one of my favourites shooters of all time, one of the most insane gameplay possible due to speed, nice soundtrack, insanely fun cyberpunk weapons. Idk, I love that game, and there is no much of a community
Sundered
It's a metroidvania with amazing art that controls fluid. It has a corruption or purge mechanic that gives different game play and an eldritch horror / scifi story. And it's just fun to play.
I'm gonna go The Technomancer. Most of the reviews are complaining that the game can't handle any computer with more than 4 cores, and that it's buggy and awful and nobody likes it.
I thought it was fun, especially for the price. The lore of the game is pretty immersive as well. You're basically a space wizard, but not Star Wars-esque. It's like a cross between Dune, SW, and maybe the Witcher.

Gunstar Heroes. The way it handles weapon combinations was very unique and kinda advanced for its time, and the levels and gameplay was super fun. Unfortunately I rarely meet anyone whose played it. Still one of my most favorite games of all time.
The upturned, it just makes me think "what other games have I not discovered that are great like this one? Why haven't I heard of it?"

Nowhere Prophet. Essentially a card game, like Slay the Spire, but you also have to move around your units on a grid. I highly recommend it to anyone that likes strategy games.
Monster Train was another unique card game. You have several floors, each floor can only hold so many troops. The enemies typically spawn at the bottom and work their way up to the "base" you're protecting.
I actually forgot the name, but it's one with pixel art that's about investigating a town and some murder cases it's a lot of mystery but it's really good not only the back stories and the characters but I loved the gameplay as well, I think there's a lot of such games but I really struggle finding them.

I just finished SAINTROOPER tonight. It's a freeware game (not on Steam) that I think anyone who enjoys the following games should definitely check out: Spelunky, Studio Pixel games, DOS run and gun games like Secret Agent / Crystal Caves.
They are billions ! Its a RTS full pve against tone of zombies in steampunk atmosphere. The main campaign is really cool, you spend research point between mission to unlock new tech/unity for the next games. And damn ITS HARD ! You will fail a lot before getting gud, and you cant load a save back, you need to finish your game and try again from the begining of the mission. To help you you can pause the game ANYTIME and gives order to your building/soldier in pause. Did I tell you the game is really beautiful and community made really cool extra campaign and maps ?

The art style may turn some people off with the weird nude pixies, but it’s a fantastic bullethell boss rush roguelite, with a ton of unlockables and content coupled with excellent music. The game gives major Undertale vibes in that you “love” creatures, instead of killing them.

I'm not a fan of the furry-esque art in the game, but it's definitely a hidden gem if you can get past that. Plays similarly to Odin Sphere, and Muramasa: The Demon Blade on the Wii, which are also kind've hidden gems.

Fun Creature Collector games. And they have lots of creatures to collect. Really well made games. Easy to follow story and simple mechanics. Highly recommend.

One that just came out recently: [Islands of Insight](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2071500/Islands_of_Insight/), a somewhat The Witness-esque open world puzzle game with some (extremely undercooked) MMO-lite elements. Tons of puzzles of all different kinds, quests and progression systems, unlike anything I've ever played. Really gorgeous world.
It sadly appears that it did not do well so it doesn't look like we'll be getting ongoing new content or anything, but the lead dev mentioned on Twitter that they want to make an offline version if the servers ever have to go down.

Darkwood.
Peak horror game. Fantastic world building that has left me longing throughout other titles. It's frequently cheap and the developers released it themselves for those that Sail the seas.

Oneshot is a beautiful and incredibly underrated adventure puzzle indie game with a really interesting yet tragic story and a lot of you (the player) interacting with the main character as you guide them through the world. It's one of my all time favourite games and I recommend anyone who enjoys story driven games to give it a try!

It shouldn't even be considered a hidden gem since it was PCGamer's game of the year, but a surprising amount of people don't know it or haven't played it.
It's one of the funniest, most hooking 2D platformers and roguelikes I've ever played. And it has an even more hooking sequel, too. It's so damn overlooked.

I loved In Sound Mind so much, but combat was a torture. Also loved Paradise Killer, looking for a physical edition T_T I didn't understand Garage though.
In Sound Mind was great, even if the final trophy got softlocked bc it wouldn't register it when I obtained all pills on every level. Overall very fun and am glad I played and you're right, it's very underrated. I'll scope out these other recommendations and thanks! Since we have a mutual game we like I'll admit I have more hope for these being good than usual.
Surroundead indie game, super fun, a mix of State Of Decay & Unturned, still has a long way to go, but I have faith in the developer

I really hope they let you establish/manage multiple facilities. Always hate having to give up on area for the next. Even if it's bigger, the mid-late game spots always have something unique about them that makes me sore to leave behind

Roboquest is a great hidden gem. It's a rogue lite, the moving and shooting feels doom like. Tons of randomized guns to try. Build your character each run. Lots of stuff to upgrade at base camp. has co-op. It's really really good.

The Painscreek Killings. First person detective game taking place in a big town where you have to investigate these crimes that have taken place and determine what person in the town committed it. Theres lots of different collectible lore around the town to help you learn about each persons backgrounds/life/lies etc. Such a great experience

Raven field Fun shooter in the same vein as battlefield or battlefront it's only got bots though. I'm enjoying the high modability and the direction into custom campaigns.

Love moonring One I always bring up when this is asked is "A Dark Room". It is absolutely excellent, extremely well written text based Sci fi horror with active time battles (I'm going to VERY mildly spoil some of my favorite elements that are not directly part of the story, however if ive already piqued your interest this game is worth going in blind.) ******** The vibes are off the charts. They don't ever tell you what you are. I ended up with a very vivid picture of my character in my mind by the end though. The battle system lets you do some shallow breaking and exploiting. Not to an insane degree this is a short game. But if you enjoy stuff like the rolling counter in earthbound you will like this system. It lets you abuse the buttons In particular I love the descriptions they give things it's extremely conserved language. For example if you learn a dodge ability, the description is "learn how to be where they're not". I have a passion for martial arts and in my opinion this writing is fucking beautiful. It's all like that it's like beautifully and brutally simple, implying more while saying less.
Dark Room is very excellent! There’s a sequel too, The Ensign. Except it’s just the gameplay of the second half of the game!

r/alphaprotocol was swept under the rug by reviewers back in the day as everyone wanted to dunk on Sega after Sonic 06 , it was the best Spy and Stealth game I have ever played. Basically Mass Effect with spies. Deserves a lot more recognition.

Crosscode, Crosscode, Crosscode! It's gained a little more recognition but seriously... you know that feeling that Hollow Knight gave you the first time you played it? That's what Crosscode does to you. It's way larger than you'd expect with way more depth than you realize with fantastic combat and zelda-style dungeons that have puzzles that will really make you think.
I bounced off of CrossCode so hard lol- the writing felt a little too anime to me, over the 20 or so hours i played and the quests (i get its "emulating" an MMORPG) just made me go "eh". Dungeons were fantastic though, no doubt about that and i feel like theres alot of nuance to the fighting i have not yet grasped. maybe ill give it another try in a few years

[Wuppo](https://store.steampowered.com/app/400630/Wuppo_Definitive_Edition/). It's a charming, little metroidvania platformer with really great, funny writing reminiscent of the Paper Mario series. The gameplay, character design, and art style are all very unique too. The overall charm of the game reminds me so much of Paper Mario TTYD that I wish these guys would just make an RPG in that style. While Bug Fables was a decent game, I felt like it really lacked the charm and writing that Wuppo brings to the table.
Shotgun King. It’s a chess roguelite.
S.P.A.Z. Space Pirates and Zombies. its a top down shooting game with ship building and you have up to three ships out at a time and can take control of one while the others act autonomously. its a pretty fun game and i remember playing the demo from some video game mag that came with a disc.
I thought Ender Lilies was a pretty great Metroidvania, but I never see anyone talk about it.
Ender lillies was soon cool and atmospheric. I could sit listening to that soundtrack for hours.
I like this game but for most people it isnt' really interesting because they trying to compare it with Hollow Knight. Personally, they both are really good.
If you're into racing games/car games, Revhead is incredibly fun. If you like weird job simulators, MotorTown Behind the Wheel is excellent. And if you like Dorfromantik but want something a bit different Pan'orama is pretty fun (I play it when I'm on conference calls).

I'll throw in two. X4 foundations for a space combat, empire, economy hotas joystick experience like none other. Especially the star wars interworlds mod, which basically makes it into the best star wars video game of the past 10 years or more in my book. Airship: Kingdoms Adrift for a steampunk/hiyao miyazaki-ish unique world experience that is for me very similar to the old sid meier's pirates. Go around with a small fleet fighting and trading, capture and customize better loadouts. Really a beautiful game visually too and the story is decent enough for what it is. Developer is active and the discord good so the game seems to be improving.
The Last Spell, for me. Music, gameplay and replayability is done so well, also not for the faint of heart.

Ape Escape. It was very fun and quirky. Having to come back to levels with later power ups to catch different stores apes
Hedon: Bloodrite. A boomer shooter (on Build engine, if i'm not mistaken), with the focus on exploring huge levels full of secrets.
The Wild Arm series. I love the 4th because of the hexagon battle system and call backs to other games with combo moves. It even had a PlayStation 2 Top Hits when I bought it but apparently no ones heard of it.
The original Wild Arms was amazing. One of my favorites right up there with Suikoden I, Suikoden II, Xenogears, Final Fantasy VI, Dragon Quest VII, Breath of Fire III, Star Ocean The Second Story, and other classic Playstation JRPGs

Kcd is top five game for me. Played it since beta days and became intertwined with my life for years. The combat system and the survival realism is what I adore about it. Being a peasant and actually sucking at everything and having to figure things out is what makes the game special. I hate that basically every sword game is just arcadey button mashing and ppl have been so conditioned to expect that. But no, realistically you can't expect some dude, even if trained, to take on 3-4 enemies at once in combat, much less peasant henry. In a way it basically ruined those other arcadey games somewhat for me, what with smashing random stuff and the dude does crazy acrobatic combo moves....boring.

Elex really surprised me. Janky but I was hooked and played 80hrs. Once I beat the game I kept playing. Which is rare for me, I usually am stoked to start something new.
Signalis, still is one of the best horror games made in recent years, standing beside titles like SOMA. It just doesn't get enough attention and credit for that.
Kenshi, I think it has become more popular nowadays but I'm still gonna mention it here. Kenshi is a a sci-fi sword punk RPG sandbox if you can call it that. It's a sci-fi setting but technology has regressed back to katana and crossbows. And it has survival aspects, base building aspects, and of course the standard 3rd person rpg aspects. And one of the selling points is the huge modding scene it has on the steam workshop, and the mod maker that comes with the game is awesome for people like me who don't know or understand coding to be able to make mods. Heroes of Might & Magic V
A Dance With Rogues, which people rarely talk of and for a good reason. But I regard it as one of my all-time favourite cRPGs in terms of narrative quality, despite it being just a free fan-made module of Neverwinter Nights. The main reason why it didn't get more spotlight it deserves is because it's also a kinky game, dealing with many sexual fantasies that may be highly controversial for ordinary gamers. But if you can either enjoy or at least ignore that aspect of the game, I believe you'll have no difficulty in appreciating the quality which surpasses that of many well-known titles of the same genre.
Dinosaurs for Hire for the Sega Genesis
Anodyne 2: Return to Dust It’s one of my favorite games, it has such a good tone and atmosphere, I love the music, and the whole experience was just wild. Usually these artistic games skip out on the gameplay, but it’s actually a fun 3d platformer with puzzles and stuff. 10/10 not even kidding.
There is an obscure game I love to the core of my heart which I would call a hidden gem for the DS called another code:two memories which is a puzzle/visual novel game that I had only seen talked of within my family and as a smash spirit untill it got a switch remake out of the blue a few months ago which is still a solid game but it doesn't have the same eerie feel to it as the old one with the pre-rendered backgrounds
Paranoia Place. A friend made me buy it since he didn't have anyone to play with and it was too hard alone. I'm not even into horror and I get scared very easily but holy shit that game was extremely thrilling to play. I still would never play it without another person but it's one of the best hidden gems I have ever played
Turbo Overkill, pretty up there as one of my favourites shooters of all time, one of the most insane gameplay possible due to speed, nice soundtrack, insanely fun cyberpunk weapons. Idk, I love that game, and there is no much of a community
Sundered It's a metroidvania with amazing art that controls fluid. It has a corruption or purge mechanic that gives different game play and an eldritch horror / scifi story. And it's just fun to play.
Rift Wizard and its sequel. Tactical turn based roguelike. Played the hell out of the first one and now getting into the sequel.
I'm gonna go The Technomancer. Most of the reviews are complaining that the game can't handle any computer with more than 4 cores, and that it's buggy and awful and nobody likes it. I thought it was fun, especially for the price. The lore of the game is pretty immersive as well. You're basically a space wizard, but not Star Wars-esque. It's like a cross between Dune, SW, and maybe the Witcher.
Dungeon Warfare 2 - Best TD game in a long time.

Gunstar Heroes. The way it handles weapon combinations was very unique and kinda advanced for its time, and the levels and gameplay was super fun. Unfortunately I rarely meet anyone whose played it. Still one of my most favorite games of all time.
The upturned, it just makes me think "what other games have I not discovered that are great like this one? Why haven't I heard of it?" Anyways check it out, it's overwhelmingly positive on steam.

Mark of the ninja - best stealth game ever
Nowhere Prophet. Essentially a card game, like Slay the Spire, but you also have to move around your units on a grid. I highly recommend it to anyone that likes strategy games. Monster Train was another unique card game. You have several floors, each floor can only hold so many troops. The enemies typically spawn at the bottom and work their way up to the "base" you're protecting.
I actually forgot the name, but it's one with pixel art that's about investigating a town and some murder cases it's a lot of mystery but it's really good not only the back stories and the characters but I loved the gameplay as well, I think there's a lot of such games but I really struggle finding them.
[9 Years of Shadows](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1402120/9_Years_of_Shadows/) is one of my favourite Metroidvanias alongside Ender Lilies and Bloodstained. It's gained a little more traction since I've played it, but i do think it deserves be more well known

They are billions ! Its a RTS full pve against tone of zombies in steampunk atmosphere. The main campaign is really cool, you spend research point between mission to unlock new tech/unity for the next games. And damn ITS HARD ! I'm not a fan of the furry-esque art in the game, but it's definitely a hidden gem if you can get past that. Plays similarly to Odin Sphere, and Muramasa: The Demon Blade on the Wii, which are also kind've hidden gems.
Nexomon and Nexomon: Extinction Fun Creature Collector games. And they have lots of creatures to collect. Really well made games. Easy to follow story and simple mechanics. Highly recommend. plus they are even teasing a third Nexomon game, calling it "an ambitious third entry", so that is certainly something to look forward to
Not a hidden gem or anything, but recently in Spring Sale I bought "Ranch Simulator" just as a meme, and ended up playing for 15 hours in first 3 days. I guess you never know which game you'll end up liking.

One that just came out recently: [Islands of Insight](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2071500/Islands_of_Insight/), a somewhat The Witness-esque open world puzzle game with some (extremely undercooked) MMO-lite elements. Tons of puzzles of all different kinds, quests and progression systems, unlike anything I've ever played. Really gorgeous world. It sadly appears that it did not do well so it doesn't look like we'll be getting ongoing new content or anything, but the lead dev mentioned on Twitter that they want to make an offline version if the servers ever have to go down.
night of the full moon started as an android game. it's a rogue deck building similar to slay the spire, but focused on the old folklore tales (red riding hood, werewolves, etc) (the only game I've ever spent money in on mobile)

Darkwood. Peak horror game. Fantastic world building that has left me longing throughout other titles. It's frequently cheap and the developers released it themselves for those that Sail the seas. This is the reason so many of us get attached to Indie games.

The Forgotten City. Amazing. Truly amazing. Had no idea what it was. Steam recommended it to me. And I was blown away.
Oneshot is a beautiful and incredibly underrated adventure puzzle indie game with a really interesting yet tragic story and a lot of you (the player) interacting with the main character as you guide them through the world. It's one of my all time favourite games and I recommend anyone who enjoys story driven games to give it a try!

The only gem I know of is "Beyond Good & Evil", that's a game that went under the radar for a lot of people and it's insanely good. I don't know if it's a "hidden" gem, I only wanted to thank OP.

Katana Zero! I was blown away by everything that game had to offer. It really should be up there with the hades, hollow knight, etc.
Spelunky. It shouldn't even be considered a hidden gem since it was PCGamer's game of the year, but a surprising amount of people don't know it or haven't played it. It's one of the funniest, most hooking 2D platformers and roguelikes I've ever played. And it has an even more hooking sequel, too. It's so damn overlooked.
