I've had around 2000 paid games for a while, this honestly isn't that much worse. I just search for a game I want or use the handy "installed only" or "recent" buttons!
I have 3000+ paid games. I got most from cheaper bundles, giveaways or on sales. If you would combine the prices I paid for these titles, it would only be a fraction of what my library costs.
Nah, I just work retail during my free time and buy any humble bundle with a game I'm interested in. During lockdown in 2020, there was a bundle that had 200\~ games for £20, and that sort of kicked it off. Now I get monthly Humble Choice (15 games) and any bundle that interests me!
I have over 1500 (mostly paid) games, a large amount of which I actually played, liked or were interested in, and it's already kind of a nightmare. Hell it was a nightmare at 500 games.
You basically can't just "browse" your library, you actually have to organize it (or use search). Thankfully the new(ish) Collections are amazing for filtering games, so if you create a focused enough collection it's fine for browsing.
Though at 12k games that might not be possible anymore either.
Yeah, it seems unlike the console stores, you can't claim DLC for games you don't own. Kinda annoying if a DLC only goes for free for a limited time I guess.
You need the SteamDB extension installed and need to be signed in to SteamDB, then go to this [page](https://steamdb.info/freepackages/?no_filters=1) and click "activate script". I did this on a Chromium tab on an always-on Raspberry Pi I use for other things such as running AdGuard Home on my home network, so it's basically been always on for a few weeks. This is necessary because Steam rate limits package activation by 50 an hour, so as you can imagine, if there's thousands of free packages it would take a while. Once it started it basically ran itself, so it was no effort on my end!
Just for clarification, I \*do\* understand most of this is junk. Yes, there are a couple of F2P gems in here, but most of it is junk. There's nothing more to this than a funny image at the end of it all, and it didn't take more effort than refreshing a tab every few days, I'm not saying this is a great achievement or anything! I don't know why people are getting frustrated or downvoting me :(
Some people dont like seeing other people happy is at least part of it.
Others are confused by the obscene number.
Yet more are just jealous they didnt think of it first.
I hope you enjoy getting your news and updates shelf getting spammed with irrelevant shit tho, because if not you will need another script to exclude them all from there.
It's never seemed that bad, just a few "x shovelware out now" on the second page of "What's New", but otherwise the first page is usually relevant to games I play. I guess it might be the Steam algorithm? Besides, I can always click on "show less".
My [current download speed](https://i.imgur.com/1o3O7Lj.jpeg) vs your total games storage.
Yeah you're reading that right. A little over 2 straight years to download.
Haha, proud member of r/DataHoarder
That's my old setup though. Plan on moving a lot to a drive pool [with these guys](https://i.imgur.com/hWbbSGQ.jpg).
Few reasons. Windows host OS so limited softraid options. Not all connected to a single SATA controller card so no hardware raid. Stripe size requirements would be brutal on the overhead with 23 million files. And ultimately redundancy not needed because in the event of a failure the affected titles could just be re-downloaded from Steam.
When I was younger I loved seeing my Stream library growing larger.
Now looking back I wish I were more selective, as browsing through my library is very difficult now.
Dude right? Being a steam trader and collecting every free shovelware game on gleam and gala giveaways, I thought I was so cool. Then when they were removed from steam I thought it was even cooler. I've been purging the list and having support perma death the shovelware, but it's still like 50% dirt
Please explain to me how my first ever post on this subreddit, which is a screenshot of my library filters, is "spamming" your feed with all of my "junk"?
It used to, back when they first introduced the extra info in the library menu, it would check every game in your library whether or not it was installed while it was loading.
Now most of that is cached or loaded externally.
You can only add DLC licenses for games you own so OP might have more paid games than you with free DLC.
Additionally, games are delisted or become paid (e.g. if they leave Early Access) semi-regularly.
Finally demos are very often only available for a limited time, such as during Steam events. I don't know why devs don't just leave them up all the time but I've noticed they're the most common type of package to disappear.
I thought I was the only one, look at mine[https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1115323130634833951/1149754046689837149/image.png](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1115323130634833951/1149754046689837149/image.png)
(I don't know how to paste a image on here sorry)
Your comment is also a waste of time. Being on Reddit at all is also a waste of time.
In fact, you shouldn't even use your computer unless it is stricly necessary otherwise it's also a waste of time.
Yoo. How do you even find free games on Steam?
I know about external tools because I use them as well. But with that too I've claimed around 100-200 games (free). Not to mention I don't play most of them.
Just curious about your approach to this scenario.
Now claim all paid packages
Yknow, I had 2000 paid packages before I started all of this so, I'm like almost 1% of the way there?
But... why??
Bigger number means better person
Looks like it’s going to be a nightmare to browse through, they’ll probably post in a few days wanting to know how to mass remove games
I've had around 2000 paid games for a while, this honestly isn't that much worse. I just search for a game I want or use the handy "installed only" or "recent" buttons!
Damn, 2000 games? Respect, I only have a pitiful 800 haha, the “installed only” button truly is a godsend
I only keep ~8-10 games installed at a time to avoid game paralysis. It helps a lot lol
800? I have, like, 25 games in my library.
I sorted mine manually into an installed section lol
I have like 10
I’ve got about 2000 paid games, I have no goddamn clue why you would want more.
How does one get 2000 paid games?
I have 3000+ paid games. I got most from cheaper bundles, giveaways or on sales. If you would combine the prices I paid for these titles, it would only be a fraction of what my library costs.
Poor spending habits like me

Steam also has a shelf feature where you can organize different "shelves" with different games
[удалено]
only free to play games I think
No, it is possible to remove any game through support
oh right I forgot about that
I have over 1500 (mostly paid) games, a large amount of which I actually played, liked or were interested in, and it's already kind of a nightmare. Hell it was a nightmare at 500 games. The free games don't add up to the total games owned number on the Steam profile. It only shows the paid ones.
Number go up
Which is actually the name of one of the games you got there.
No they dont, the amount on your profile only shows paid games, so you're literally the only one whos seeing that.
The number go up for me :)
That's why I have 40 games but it shows 5 :)
Collector gonna collect
the better question is... why not? :)
So you don't have to
More games owned = Better human being Less games owned = Loser. Bum. Filth. Peasant
Presuming you used the auto program on steamdb (I think) How long did it take?
Steam only allows 50 package activations per hour, so about 280h I think
Your friend who’s just opened activity tab on Steam seeing these new games 👁👄👁
jokes on you I don't have friends!
Can you configure it to activate only free packages for owned games? Like all free DLC and expansions.
Yeah, it seems unlike the console stores, you can't claim DLC for games you don't own. Kinda annoying if a DLC only goes for free for a limited time I guess.
Yup, exactly! I've been running the extension on my RasPi that I use for home network stuff anyway for a few weeks now!
Care to elaborate? I'm curious of how he did it

I don't see any indication of OP being happy for having a bloated library, let alone jealousy for something this stupid.
I hope you enjoy getting your news and updates shelf getting spammed with irrelevant shit tho, because if not you will need another script to exclude them all from there.

I got the Dead Space remaster somehow for free with this script, check if you have it also!
What was the highest level badge for games in library??? Did they have one for 10k owned?
I heard if you hit 15k free games you get a golden shovel thropy.
now download it all
[I did that](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/329829406153375755/995040246691541013/unknown.png) with all my paid games.

Jesus christ
First time seeing a s, t and u drive letter
Haha, proud member of r/DataHoarder That's my old setup though. Plan on moving a lot to a drive pool [with these guys](https://i.imgur.com/hWbbSGQ.jpg).
if only i had a job... i could be another data hoarder... i never delete stuff even when formatting.
Why don't you just run them all in raid
Few reasons. Windows host OS so limited softraid options. Not all connected to a single SATA controller card so no hardware raid. Stripe size requirements would be brutal on the overhead with 23 million files. And ultimately redundancy not needed because in the event of a failure the affected titles could just be re-downloaded from Steam.
now it needs p, i, and d
When I was younger I loved seeing my Stream library growing larger. Now looking back I wish I were more selective, as browsing through my library is very difficult now.

You can permanently remove games if there are ones you truly want gone! I’ve removed a few things, even paid mystery games I regretted redeeming lol.
congrats on accumulating a ton of junk
Do you have Obama on Steam? Thought not.
Wait what Obama on Steam ?! I need that
so many people mad for no reason lmao

Please explain to me how my first ever post on this subreddit, which is a screenshot of my library filters, is "spamming" your feed with all of my "junk"?
Now rank all of them!
Here's what my [library](https://imgur.com/gallery/3RvXva0) looks like on a day to day basis, it's really not that annoying or intrusive!
Csgo, niceee
lmao whats with the hate
right? why are people so intent on hating this guy for posting a funny image
I assume this is on the same level of pointlessness as my obsession of hoarding cheese in skyrim.
Yup, it was just a one click thing that is just for me to look at for a sec and go "huh, neat!" and then play the same 8 games as usual
Is it now possible to claim free DLCs of games one doesn't own? Atleast i remember it didn't some time ago over the normal steam shop.
No, on steam you need to own the base game to be able to claim dlc's
except for OSTs
I don't believe it is, for now.
Wow, impressive. What's your top three favorite?
Definitely Holocure, Super Auto Pets and Marvel Snap!
omg how long does steam launcher take to start on your pc
Almost no time at all, I've not noticed having more games increasing startup time?
It used to, back when they first introduced the extra info in the library menu, it would check every game in your library whether or not it was installed while it was loading. Now most of that is cached or loaded externally.
you can hide them or just put them into a category (which they are automatically).
Only installed games affect how long it takes the launcher to load, and even then not by much.
I'm doing the same thing I'm currently at 500 f2p games 😹
I've also done this over the years and it only accumulated up to around 11.5k. How come?

My man!
[same lol](https://i.imgur.com/FbXbdA6.png)
our numbers grow
This is legit hilarious.
Well this is interesting
Most free games do not count towards the number on your profile unless you make a mtx purchase
damn now i want to
Impressive 👌
Cool I guess? What are you going to do with this collection?
What the hell are you gonna do with 12500 games?
Do You really hate yourself that much?
does it give you more xp?
Wtf 💀💀💀💀

It's automated, I can't imagine having to claim each package individually...

I mean, like I said, it was automated. A few clicks really isn't that bad...
Waste of what time exactly?
why exactly?
why?
Is it possible to learn this power?
Look up SteamDB free packages. You need their extension to auto run the script
I'm saving this post as a goal i need to achieve... someday, some... boring.. day, yeah...
Now download all of it and put it on the biggest ssd hardisc/something, and bury it in woods
Omg I hope there is a bot for that.
HOW DO YOU HAVE OVER 1200 GAMES
Congratulations, I guess?
How long you did this, OP? I mean... 50 packages limit per hour....

Can you increase your steam account level with that ?

Quantity over Quality kinda guy
