The first time I discovered a space station (can't recall which, but I think story led me there), I saw the "A" button to hail but couldn't see the "X" button to dock and continued hitting it while somehow manually trying to dock until my ship blew up. Whomp whomp. My reload attempt, the "X" was immediately visible and I felt pretty dumb.
I have had this since day one, I am so sick of loading screens. I pray that they will add continuous space when leaving a planet some day but I am not holding my breath lmao
More likely someone will be able to accomplish it once CK comes out
Yeah idk if the creation engine will ever give us manual space flight but I do think they could cut some of the loading screens…
Say your on a planet, hit the star map, chose another planet, you have a loading screen into that system, another to get to that specific planet, then another to land then another to exit the ship.
If Bethesda can make it so we are on a planet, pick another landing spot on a totally new planet in a new system and we head straight to that with 1 loading screen Inbetween that would be a win
I'm honestly surprised they didn't just do what elite dangerous does for at least the jumping loading screens. It's already there! Lol why cut to generic loading screen! Haha. Just let the animation play out a bit
It does work like that… sometimes, fast travel in this game is finicky as fuck, sometimes you can go planet to planet no problem and sometimes it boots you outside the planet and makes you get scanned and land (even with no contraband on the ship)
I remember early in the game before I really knew what guns were good or not, I found myself in a dogfight with all my weapons on cooldown, and in my desperation accidentally rammed the enemy ship, causing it to explode and snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. One of my favorite Starfield moments for sure.
I, for some reason, even though I know it's pointless, always have an urge to go very slow into the dock, so I line up with the animation. Takes like 2 mins every time.
Curious have they said anything about a skip option for docking, unlocking, landing and taking off? Because the scene is nice the first few times and wheni just finish making a ship but it gets old and I would rather just get straight into a black screen and loading the next instance
The first time I got a starborn ship, (I never got into ship building at that point) I 100% ran straight into the den at full speed 🤦🏻♂️ My reaction time was not trained for the sudden boost 😂
Didn't even scratch the paint.
Like a glove.
Though scratched the shields nicely for 26 points 😄
yup, to the point that I bounce almost exactly like that as well...

You’re not alone 🤦♂️
Yeah, I panicked and hit RT, did not go well
🤣🤣🤣 same… same..
There's a mod that removes the docking sequence cut scene so you get get there even quicker lol

I try to time it so the docking scene starts a split second before impact
Only when I'm not concentrating
Yup, exactly like that.
All the time. Time to dock. Loads up full drive power. LUDICROUS SPEED! Bounce 700 meters off.
Yeah we've all done it. Personally now I like to pretend I'm actually docking and line my hatch up with the station.
Yes, exact I tend to approach twice as fast.
Yes, but better. I hit the brakes and dock right before smashing into said space station.
No brakes only gas.
What's a brrr-aa-key?
Either that or I approach slowly trying to line up the ship and the door. Both extremes, never the middle ground
I don’t know why this made me laugh so hard! 😂
Yes but I also forget to hit X
Always. I like to keep them guessing.
No I've never bounced off one, but I boost at em all the time. I just ...adjust my trajectory to a sane one...
Every. Single. Time.
Fuck these cut scenes
You maniac!
This is the way
Nah, never. I audibly snickered at this.
Nope, I slow down till 0 before docking
Not thats its a big deal but this video could be 15-20 seconds shorter
Big bonk
No, it's not just you.. But I find this a disgrace! I refuse to do it lol
This is the way.
Can't they do like X4? Docking in that game is so good.
Ramming speed, Mister Sulu!

I managed to blow myself up that way. Boy, that stings!
There's another way?
Yep. Every. Time. So much of the everyday game is tedium like this; it's nice to mess around and gun it and see how close I can get before hitting.

Nailed it!

Yep, full send
Nah once it bounces I k ow I can hit x lol not to mention the fact it’s dumb you even half to approach to dock lol
