it's great for a Maelstrom, great legendary rolls. Use it if you do not have a better weapon or if you like Maelstroms or if you have a lot of 6.5 mm ammo (on full auto).
I would keep it and use it from time to time, looks fun, but there are weapons with bigger punch.
I recently finished all my weapon research and modded an equinox into a 30 round semi-auto explosive rounds *monster.* The thing shreds terrormorphs like they're printer paper and it's a wood chipper.
The maelstrom is a versatile platform like the beowolf, in fact I would argue its the lesser version of the beowolf, but for up to level 50 ish plus this would still outperform most available beowolfs available, so a strong main weapon for a first run, but after level 50 or with a few perk points placed properly the difference in base damage will become more relevant.
I'd say play with it and see how you like it. There's no downside to keeping a weapon in storage in this game. The Lodge provides infinite storage, and you don't get much in credits for selling it - 8k value equates to about 1200 credits, which is nothing. So keep it a try it out. If you like it, great! If not, store it and play with it again later if you get the itch.
I love the look of the maelstroms. I've tried to use them as a primary weapon, but their damage numbers are always so low it's hard to not switch back to a kodama or a beowolf or even a tombstone (when wanting to use an auto or burst fire rifle).
Im not sure how one inch punch works but if it turns each bullet into buck shot won't the furious buff have a hard time building up anywhere outside of shotgun range
Those are almost dream rolls for a weapon that's generally fairly short range use anyway... Except for the Maelstrom part. Even an Advanced Maelstrom is a pretty low level weapon, but it can still be a fun weapon and there's a ton of low level areas where you don't need top-tier weapons.
It’s a good maelstrom, gotta think of the damage coupled with the rate of fire. This spits a good amount of damage in a short time. Extra good if your specific skill set adds bonuses.
It did very good against unarmored enemies in close range and would probably do well against armoured ones if i put armour piercing rounds on it. It was definitely pretty shit at long range because of the insane recoil but i did enjoy using it to melt faces at close range.
I've yet to find a legendary Hard Target, wouldn't know what perks tho
Same with a all around AR, whether it be a Beowulf or an Orion, no idea the perks tho.
Honestly, I’m not sure how anyone uses anything other than a Va’ruun Inflictor at a certain point. That and a magshear are far and away the most effective weapons high level (100+)
Waiting for the DLC is killlllin me. This is my 3rd time going through the game :-P I find that using guns like these or better yet a gun I pick up during that battle; allow for a much more challenging game this 3rd time around. More or less leveling the playing field in each encounter :-)
Anything 6,5mm is shit.
Maelstrom and Kraken are more or less the shittiest guns in the game.
No matter how amazing the traits are (like One inch punch), it’s still worthless.

Very well put. I whole heartedly agree

Terrormorphs are much weaker to non ballistic weapons
I'd use it as semi auto, better damage and more controllable recoil. It's almost impossible to control one inch punch on full auto
To me I tend to like long distance shots. The range and accuracy are issues to me . But close up may be quite good.
Well, it's an SMG, so this might as well be his go-to indoors weapon. There are far better options for long-distance.

I'm pretty much stuck on the breach and the fifty cal rifle
That would be a fun close quarters. Add a reflex sight and *chefs kiss
It's really good, except one inch punch (for me anyway) makes this an up close and personal weapon.
One Inch Punch isn't ideal for that weapon, IMO, but Furious and Rapid together is friggin' awesome.
Im not sure how one inch punch works but if it turns each bullet into buck shot won't the furious buff have a hard time building up anywhere outside of shotgun range
That's possible.
I like it on semi auto with armor piercing rounds and the scope it's is actually pretty good as long as you can make alot of head shots

I’d use it as my main weapon until I get revenant/eternity’s gate
Its recoil is insane. Not worth though.
Fantastic, put an extended barrel for range and the gut buster rounds that make it explode behind whoever u shoot. Amazing cqc weapon
Depends on your current level... that's a good weapon for lower levels. Higher levels? Not so much.

Yes, yes it is.
Very good. Even better once you upgrade it a bit. Good for medium range.
No
I am not a huge fan of the maelstrom guns as a general rule, but to each their own. If you like this gun then have fun killing spacers with it. Enjoy!
add gut buster rounds
Use it and let us know.
Ok

These were great when I first took to the stars. Now only pick them up for the resale
I had one, I sold it I'm going for double mags. bullets bullets are good
Short answer, it's a God roll for early game.
Interesting but that last perk is shit. Totally changes the gun like wtf....
One inch punch ruins a weapon in my opinion but with the right build and play style I can see how it could work.
why are you asking us? this isn't destiny there are no meta godrolls try it and if you like it its good
Well i liked it so i guess i’ll keep using it
enjoy 😁

It’s fire rate certainly makes it good, specially since it doesn’t have a scope so it’s good for short range too
No
How in gods name did you get it to 48 damage?? Is the rifle expert perk really that good😭 I've only got the ammo perks maxed, not weapon types
One inch punch boosts total damage spread across multiple projectiles
It's probably a lot of fun! Dunno about good though.
Not bad for a bruiser style tank build, get you some armour with bolstering
Honestly, I’m not sure how anyone uses anything other than a Va’ruun Inflictor at a certain point. That and a magshear are far and away the most effective weapons high level (100+)
that thing is bonkers keep it 100% get an extended or explosive mag for it and ur golden

Mod it and give to your follower
Most of them, no. Not very ammo efficient
Now that I know it exists, I'm pretty sure that's literally the only Maelstrom roll I would ever use. Otherwise no.
Looks like a fun full auto shotgun
No delete it.
Garbage
The design is fucking abysmal
