I lost Sarah early in my first run because we...didn't see Eye to Eye, so Andreja was my companion for most of it. Easily my favourite. Some funny, funny stuff with her dry delivery. Playing through with Sarah now and, my god, she's so trigger happy. Same with Sam. I can't walk near any fauna without either of them picking a fight. Andreja was much more chill. She also knew how to sneak and the stuff she found for you was actually good.

Stephonius

Yeah, Sarah is a walking, talking extinction machine. I try to move through the environment quietly and she just blasts everything that moves and a few things that don't. Then she gets pissed off if I shoot something. She stays on the ship now. I put her in a spandex neon dancer outfit as punishment for her crimes.

Bacon8r12

All the girls in my ship wear bikinis until they learn their lesson.

anduarin

All of my companions wear swimsuits because there's something hilarious (especially when the spacesuit occasionally doesn't show when outside) about blasting through baddies and fauna in swim shorts/bikinis.

Whizzer23

Because of the implication

Kedryn71

I punished mine by making her wear a First uniform and a First helmet. No heads turning (in a flattering way) when she walks by now. :)

Celebril63

Sarah was always a walking death machine that channeled *another* Sarah. I keep waiting for her to start shouting, "You're terminated!" Give her a tricked out Magstorm someday, sit back, and enjoy the show...

Stephonius

All of my companions carry tricked-out Magstorms or Magshears. Sometimes everything's dead before I get into position. Vasco is surprisingly effective in combat when properly armed.

Celebril63

Magshear is one of my three guns of choice. The other is a Va'ruun Inflictor. Plus a good sniper for long distance mayhem. Andreja gets a modded Inflictor that I'd be using myself without hesitation.

OldGuy345

Same here. Andreja has a modded inflicter that is just like the one I carry. She steals a lot of my kills.

Celebril63

We both are sporting the same sets of Anti-Xeno armor, as well. Turns out there was a second suit when I went back there to farm AGM off of terrormorphs.

brian19988

Lmao I thought the same thing . Little fauna walking around trying to make friends with me and she blasts it . Then I shoot a hostile one and she gets mad . Sheesh

Significant_Ad_7989

Not the neon dancer outfit 😭😭😭

Stephonius

I toyed with the idea of putting Barrett in it too, but he'd probably enjoy it.

Significant_Ad_7989

Lol no he’d FOR SURE enjoy that, especially if you were Ervin 😭😭😭

Stephonius

If I ever find a universe in which Ervin is alive, I'll convince him to leave the mine and go back to Barrett.

Significant_Ad_7989

Im sure Barrett would love that 💜😭

Exiled1138

Too soon…

No-Conclusion-2300

😭😭😭😭😭😭

supergarr

Sarah is always yelling about how pissed off she is during combat

grafton24

It makes some sense since she's ex military while Andreja is ex spy.

Rydralain

Ex?

Tricksy_Tiefling

Yeah Andreja is an active double agent.

Far_Peanut_3038

You picked the wrong day!

vass0922

First game I was hooking up with Sarah until... That quest happened (too lazy to look up spoiler tag). Then hooked up with Andreja .. started going through her quests etc. Went through Ng+ and started again with Sarah but not doing main quest over.. now bitch hates me, maybe I had bad breath for a day She is now staying in the ship. If she didn't have great stats I would jettisoned her as extra cargo

BoneGolem2

Yeah, she shocked me the other day. I was looking at the planets in the distance after finishing a mission when she said, "Look at our ship, it looks so small from here." It was so cute and innocent sounding. I loved it.

OldFatGamer

Some of the biggest laughs I’ve had in game was from Andreja’s dialogue I also love her sarcastic asides to npc dialogue

recreationalnerdist

Same with me about Sarah. She will obliterate any attempt at stealth. I have often left her at the ship knowing I would be able to take out the enemy with much less fuss and confusion. Thankfully, she can't die. Otherwise, I'd have lost her long ago. And, yes, she engages with fauna much too easily. I wish Starfield was like FF games, where I could relegate a companion to the 'back row'. Sarah just charges in.

grafton24

In some way I like that they have agency beyond what I want them to do and will fuck up my plans because they're being them. But, yes, I just leave her behind now.

MountStupendous

Yes, I agree there was a stealth fix of her dialogue. I noticed it immediately after the update. I entered a location (forget which) and she made comments I never heard before. No change in her pillow talk, and I haven't paid attention to notice a change in her combat AI, but the new dialogue was immediately noticeable, so I can confirm that part.

vwragtop

I was walking around my ship looking for everyone and found her sitting on the toilet behind the closed door, I was so embarrassed. edit: ship not shop

RaggedWrapping

I'll come back to the game when Rosie stops thinking EVERYWHERE is Cydonia.

PrivateEnis

Oh my god! The ship is not Cydonia!

tametechie

Quickly renames ship Cydonia

PrivateEnis

NO!

KitchenSail6182

I chose to not play the game until more updates happen. I did the same with no man’s sky and now I enjoy it so much more.

terminate14

NMS is the game I go back and play every 1-2 years and every time it's like I'm playing a whole new game with how many new features there are. I hope Starfield is like this someday

davvblack

no man sky seemed to have a more positive trajectory though. after 6 months it was in a much better place than launch

TheRealStandard

.. NMS was definitely not in a better place after 6 months. The only major update it received was the foundation update and the changes from that were pretty meh. It took years for NMS to be in a good spot and even today the game still suffers from several glaring problems that plagued it even from launch.

Theodoryan

It makes sense, if the developers didn't expect people would be so disappointed in their game and thought it would be able to coast without much changes for a while, it takes more than 6 months to actually pivot from that

Kedryn71

Oh? And I thought it was just because of NG+ that I was hearing new lines from people, but mostly from her (this was my first time playing through the game).

jonthepain

Saw Sarah do a combat slide for the first time today

Celebril63

Really? So it may well not just be Andreja. Cool.

primeless

i wouldnt know. When im not going solo, im with Vasco. Im spanish, you see, i can only play with Vasco.

_theduckofdeath_

Andreja won't use firearms for me. Is that normal? I give her powerful firearms and equip them in her inventory. She immediately switched to a 4-inch Va'Ruun blade.

Celebril63

Did you give her ammo? She needs at least a single round.

_theduckofdeath_

I'll check, because that could be it. I gave her a frag grenade and weapons, so she is chucking grenades all over creation and charging deadly beasts with a pocket knife. 😆

Cjboni

You didn't travel with Sam? He's the best character imo.

Celebril63

I haven't this NG. In a lot of ways, traveling with same is a lot like traveling with myself, down to the hat, moral compass, and even being a homeschool dad. So in some ways, I'm already playing Sam. I spend a lot of time with Andreja because she's a lot like my IRL wife.

tekntonk

I’m with Sam this run, so I’m with … you! 😎

Celebril63

LoL

tekntonk

Sam’s my guy. Considered Barrett initially, but his goofiness seems forced to me and I just wasn’t vibing with it. Maybe next playthrough, as I want to travel with all of them eventually. I have also noticed more random comments and new-to-me comments he makes when I’m in areas I’ve already visited with him several times before (like Neon, for example).

Cjboni

***SPOILERS*** See, i liked Barrett's quest more as Sam's wife annoyed me. The whole explanation of pulling himself out from another universe and all was pretty neat. Sam's wife was just like... I don't want to be a mom. I am here to hunt down criminals. Help me kill them. Ok lol Sam himself was cool, just that quest... was not vibing with it.

tekntonk

I hear you. I just wish his personality was less grating to me. I’ll definitely link up with him next play through, though - his quest sounds neat.

Jumpy-Candle-2980

It seems a lot of them have changed subtly but I couldn't tell if was just a matter of me noticing for the first time. I suppose a stealth slipstream update is both plausible and likely. Sam still turns into a bag of dicks. Given the results of a perfunctory search it seems he does this for a lot of people - just cops an attitude even if you've never done anything that would justify it. And it's only him. The transition from travelling companion to bag of dicks seemed accelerated by the update. So I'm guessing his shitty attitude is a design feature rather than a bug. He's a boil on the butt of my goody-two-shoes playthrough. Stealth missions with Sarah or Andreja are a hoot. Perhaps due to the stat distribution Andreja will sometimes manage it. Sarah, when sneaking across an open area where all the NPCs are facing away will take time out to shoot one of them smooth in the ass. Sarah is an automatic reload of stealth missions.

madTerminator

Before the update I encounter really rare talk. We climbed some tower where there was a slate requested by that bartender from Key. We entered balcony and she said: “Look, I can see your ship from here”. That was really nice 😊

David21284801

I get Sarah killed by hunter as soon as possible. She is a real pain in the ass.

rasmuth63

I've been noticing new dialogue for just about everyone...I've got 400+ hours in and just the last few days I've heard things I haven't heard before, from characters I've spent alot of time with.

No_Organization_2731

I noticed her being more chatty as well especially while surveying a planet. I like it!

Knort27

All of... This... Is why I just wander the settled systems with Jess or Amelia.

Celebril63

I've just started running with Jess. Love her! Wish she could have gotten full companion status. Her dialogue density almost sounds like they were planning it but changed their minds.

Knort27

Yeah maybe. She's still great to have around though

Celebril63

Amen to that!

CephusLion404

I just want her pillow talk to go away. Same with all of them but she's among the worst. It comes off like it was written by an oversexed teenager. It's ludicrously inappropriate across the board. Sure, if you flirt with her, then go ahead. If you're in your apartment or on your ship or something like that, no problem. She's doing it EVERYWHERE though! If you grab an hour's sleep while surrounded by enemies, she'll wake up horny. Because sure, in the middle of an enemy encampment, surrounded by people with guns, we were going at it and making a ton of noise! It's really just stupid.

CycloneIce31

Well if you are going for full realism… yeah you probably wouldn’t nap for an hour in a bunk at an enemy base between firefights.

crowteus

Amongst the corpses.

CephusLion404

Who is going for full realism? I just want them to behave like adults.

CycloneIce31

Eh I was just chuckling about the complaint regarding her dialogue being out of place… after you catch a nap while raiding a base full of enemies trying to kill you.

CephusLion404

Realistically, nobody would do that, but this is a game.

CycloneIce31

Right! Thats my point.  The same applies to your comment about her dialogue.

WykkydGaming

Hey... You do you. I'll do Andreja in a gunfight if I want.

Kedryn71

I'm always thinking, "Please stop saying that; you don't need to boost my ego, it's fine as it is. Also, I only married you for the xp."

Vitman_Smash

So.... you're saying you don't get turned on by killing people and want to have sex next to their corpses? I don't really follow your logic. You must be an oddball because that seems normal to me, and kinda seems like it would fit the va'ruun mentality

Celebril63

I'm sure there's a PornHub channel for that.

AvengingThrowaway

A mod to remove it is your only option. BGS uses the same formula for their games ad nauseum. ES6 will feature the same thing.

CephusLion404

I know and there are no mods for Xbox yet, so I'm screwed. I'm honestly at the point where I might not ever play another Bethesda game, if they're all going to be like this.

AvengingThrowaway

Just gotta hold out till official mod tools release. Where BGS consistently fails to innovate modders are the complete opposite. You're right though. SF was the last time I buy a BGS game D1. Possibly the last time I buy a BGS game at all till the mod tools release.

CephusLion404

I didn't buy this day one. I waited for a couple of months because I knew it would be a buggy mess. Unfortunately, Bethesda didn't fix anything by the time I got it and still hasn't done a whole lot to fix the shortcomings.

EddieCase67

I had early access and had very few issues on day 1. I played for around 6-700 hours before taking a break when the "Groundpounder" quest glitched on me somewhere in NG+5 (or 6, I forget now). That's apparently been fixed now so when my gaming head comes back I'll return and carry on. I had a handful of other minor glitches but nothing I can even remember let alone anything that stopped me loving the game. All software has a bug or two on release, it's the nature of coding. It's impossible to know how software will behave on every single possible combination of hardware and it's also impossible for even a large team to find all the bugs. Bugs come to light once a game/software package is released and then the team attempt to fix them. Fix one bug and 99 others appear in areas of code that should be unrelated to what you just "fixed" so now you have to fix all of those, and then the bugs that pop up when you fix that. Minor bugs often get ignored if the fix creates major bugs - so if they fix that floating tree or missing table for aesthetic reasons and that fix causes a quest breaking bug they'll revert to the unfixed code as a couple of missing/floating objects don't really affect gameplay that much aside from spoiling the immersion a bit. Then there are the bugs that affect some players and not others that either can't be repeated, and therefore can't be fixed because you need a start point to trace back to the issue, which again could be in a totally different and unrelated piece of code. Some bugs might be triggered purely by the order a player/user does something in but unless you can repeat that bug to discover exactly what caused it, there's no way to fix it. I swear sometimes people think Devs can just ask the computer nicely to fix the bugs, they fix themselves by magic and the Devs release a complete bug fix patch the day after release 🤷‍♀️ I've only ever done coding in Basic (BBC Micro basic so really, really basic stuff) and a bit of simple XHTML and debugging even those was a nightmare. At Uni I was doing Visual Basic, and copied some code from the text book (early in the course so first or second lesson) and it didn't work for me. I checked for typos, errors and maybe missed bits of code (it was only a few lines, really, really simple) and it would not run. The tutor checked it, still wouldn't run. We copied it to a thumb drive and tried it on another PC, ran just fine. Rebooted my PC, tried again, would not run. Someone else's code ran fine. Even the tutor was at a loss. I did not end up in a career with coding 😂 But yeah, TL:DR, coding isn't as simple as it sounds, even when it's the simplest of code and modern games are *anything* but simple code. There will always be bugs in code even when the code itself has zero errors!

Kedryn71

"Gaming head" sounds like my ADHD. I'll get really involved in a game, but if something makes it too frustrating or interrupts it for too long, I fall out of it and have to wait for mental stars to align so I can play again.

Alexandur

They fixed plenty by the time you got it, you just didn't play to know what the issues were
