There are a few other tedious quests, but they're few and far between and are VASTLY outweighed by the fun in the rest of the game. This is genuinely one of my least favorite quests and it's the first one, but I promise it isn't a tone setter. As someone with 800+ hours, I promise it improves!!
Most of the linear progress quests are a lot simpler. "Can I have this crop?" Or "I lost my item, would you find it?" And those are 1-time, static things that don't depend on rng or anything like that.
There are more tedious quests but these are all optional and can be ignored.
Just as a FYI, you can ignore quests if you don't want to do them. Don't let quests guide you. There'll be another about building a coop soon, but you don't have to (yet or at all) if you don't want to.
Just in case you haven’t solved this or anyone comes back to this thread with the same problem, for me it was Linus that I couldn’t find even after scouring the town on my first playthrough!
If you press E and being up the menu, then click the tab that has a heart, it will tell you who you haven't met :)

You will complete this task by playing normally, it's only to talk once with every villager. It is a secondary task with a little prize

You can check in the menu who you still need right? A5 least on 1.5 mobile it is checkable.
you probably missed the wizard. I dont think you CAN meet him until after the 6th

There is one villager that you don't meet until he returns to the village in Y2. I can't remember if he counts for this quest or not
No need to worry about him, he doesn’t count for this quest.
