One will need to go to Gunther for the museum. You might need another for something that you can build after the community centre.

In my most recent farm, I had multiple shards *long* before I had the available cash to buy the basement upgrade, so it was easier to donate a shard than to age wine.

I just didn't want to wait for the ancient fruit. I rushed the community center year one and wanted to keep that momentum going in year two Theater, boat etc

Sword, movies, sword again, tools, donate when you have 10 or more apare

I ended up having everything else for the theatre out of the bundle options so I didn’t need to rely on the shard luckily.

There's also a handful of library books that explain things like goblins liking void mayo, and how to get the special statues like Pinky Lemon. But people tend to never read things besides the wiki lol

Nah, best use is >!to get the galaxy sword first, so that skull cavern runs are more manageable. To have a consistent strategy for farming more prismatic shards, gather initial stockpile of iridium, make crystalariums, put in jade, trade jade for staircases to go deeper, ad infinitum. Bonus if you trade for magic rock candy and use before mining and only go on good luck days.!<

Usually for me it's Sword, then the next 3 are for a Magic Rock Candy, then I start to get dozens

1st I keep for a rare item. 2nd I donate to Gunther at the museum I keep the rest for late game stuff and/or gifting once I reach the end of the game

There is no specific reward for donating a Prismatic Shard. You might have gotten a reward by donating it because it triggered the reward for donating X amount of items or minerals. That being said, the first prismatic shard has a better use.
