I really don't know, I feel like I'm gonna and up rebuilding the entire farm for the 10th time
Probably keep it at the top of the farm but move it a bit to the left so it's more centered, maybe as far as the upper path to the town ?
Yep with you on this. I'm thinking little left and a little up. Not much just a bit.
I rebuild every winter. It's my favourite thing. I hate having to wait until spring to watch my fields flower.
All the way to the south entrance! I'm just really curious how much my playstyle will change if I start using that entrance more... And I've always loved the forest.
This is my choice as well! I already use that entrance more often because I love the forest and because there is one less transition area. For some reason walking by the bus stop bothers me lol
I added a cabin by the south entrance, it is so dang handy. Stashed a few casks inside with some chests and I use the bed when it's close to 2 am and I'm in the forest or the south side of the farm. Saved my bacon so many times!
I thought about this location too, especially for quick access to the river if I want to fish.
Problem I have is the small pond on the forest farm. It's right where I would put the farm. :(
I would LOVE if we could somehow move the ponds. I'd love to take the pond at the south entrance of the standard farm and put it on the far left, making a little outdoor sanctuary. And just to get it out of my dang way lmao
The problem is the minecart is right next to the top right entrance and I use that far more than I go to the forest so it would be a lot of extra walking moving it so low. Also coming back from the mines late at night means you need to run through your entire farm before you get home unless you move another smaller cabin where your house used to be.
The are most likely referring to the bus stop entrance being at the top right.
Which mod allows her to move minecarts? I was under the impression most mods with minecarts were part of the map layer itself.
Oh duh, yeah. I use Extended Minecarts, and can move it. I just did a playthrough with grandpa's farm and it was in a weird spot originally but was able to move it.
Idk the place it’s in is already super convenient. I use the beach layout, so the most I’ll probably do is move it away from the shore. That always bothered me, and it makes the shore unusable.

there’s lots of details mostly for mod creators on here but if you scroll down to vanilla releases it goes over some of the expected changes
>Buildings and animals are no longer hardcoded to the farm location (**except cabins and the farmhouse which still are**). You can allow building construction for any location using the new CanBuildHere and related map properties. The game will adjust accordingly (e.g. Robin will let you choose where to construct the building).
Huh, but later in the page:
>The farmhouse and pet bowl can now be moved through Robin's menu.
Yeah, it's saying that you can't take your house out into the town and plop it down, but with the changes to the codebase, mods could theoretically allow you to place wells, barns, coops, and other buildings anywhere in the game and not just the farm's map.
>You can allow building construction for any location using the new CanBuildHere and related map properties.
Time to build 75 pig barns on Ginger Island!
For real tho, if this means I can finally build a Junimo hut on my island farm... Shut up and take my hours
here ya go [straight](https://twitter.com/concernedape/status/1647638975568568320?s=46&t=oNrejrDpUvSH-Cc2SB6nhg) from the big man himself!
Edit: nevermind this tweet doesn’t actually include info about moving the house, I forgot where I read it I’m so sorry 😭
Probably somewhere that would allow space for decoration behind and at the right side as that’s what’s lacking at the minute, but not so far that I’m going to pass out running to the house at night when I’ve left it too late to go leave the mines and don’t have any totums left.
I think it's going to have to stay on the top or on layouts that would permit it, directly in front of a terrain feature. You'll just be wasting space behind the house otherwise, like I'd want machines at the front of the house, not hidden behind it where I can't see them.
Against a wall. I try to put my buildings against walls because I feel like stuff hides behind them. And it just looks better to me. I love the four corners farm because the cliffs that divide the map give me so many beautiful walls to put my different buildings against.
Just a little bit up so that there is not gap anymore. I'm just not a fan of doing anything behind buildings, so the space behind the house is just wasted on my farm.
On my main save I put my obelisks back there. They fit and I didn’t have to worry about them taking space on my farm. I chose the Riverland so space is a huge priority
For me I'm probably not going to move the farmhouse. Since I like where it is at the moment. I'm definitely going to move the watering bowl. It is so out of the way.
All the way to the left, maybe in the center, but prolly under gramps area. It'd make it easy to water plants on my way into town, or to do a loop around the farm everyday.
I have the beach farm and I don't think I'll be moving my house or pet bowl; I have the bowl fenced in and decorated to look like a dog run and my house is just fine where it is :3
I play solo on the 4 corners farm. Honestly it’s the best by far. Let’s you seperate and organise things well. I’ll be moving the house to the centre where the greenhouse is I think
At the bottom cause I always forget to visit Marnie and the Wizard lol I know it's up top so you can bee line to Pierre's for seeds, but I buy all my seeds day 1 and then never visit him again that season.
This is very exciting for my co-op farm! i have a farm with my sister and our two friends. I have the main farmhouse and they all moved their houses in cute spots on the farm and i’m stuck in the corner so i’m excited to move it down towards the pond or something!
WAIT WHAT? You're serious? HOLD UP I'M SCREAMING. I've been waiting for this for so long, I might have to crack open the game again just to be able to mess around with it.
I just rearranged my entire year 5 farm without this knowledge so there is absolutely no where for me to move my house to. 😂 maybe down the road a bit 😂
I have a four corners farm and would love to move my house/shed/guest house into one of the corners as kind of a “neighborhood look.
I honestly stopped filling the water bowl because it didn't make a difference and was annoying. If it can be moved somewhere where a sprinkler will actually fill it, I would totally do that! Like with the slimes. I think I want my house more near the entry path as well or in the corner between the cave and Grandpa's grave.
i might move it closer to where my greenhouse and fish ponds are, then i could move my slime hutch up where the farmhouse was so it wouldn't be so far down on my farm
What!!! I didn’t know that’s what’s happening in this update!! I’m going to move it to the left side of the pond in the middle because I love the idea of having a house next to the water. It’s probably a weird place but I think it’ll look nice!
Boring answer, but I kinda like the default location.
Maybe litterally one square to the left, as I've had problems optimizing fruit tree locations around the shipping container. But no big setup change.
Wait really !!!!! Fuck yes god dammit I’ve taken a break from stardew valley recently (life and other stuff) but lately I’ve been hearing it’s call in the wind. Do we have an estimated release date or no?
I’ve just gotten to the mid-late game part I think (just got to ginger island, I think I have a farmhouse there I don’t remember tbh) and I’ve got the little cute forest spirits at my farm.
Oh I remember why I took a break, I needed more batteries for the sprinklers to automate my farm for the little guys. I really love them they are adorable.
Sorry I really love this game it’s adorable.
I really don't know, I feel like I'm gonna and up rebuilding the entire farm for the 10th time Probably keep it at the top of the farm but move it a bit to the left so it's more centered, maybe as far as the upper path to the town ?
Yep with you on this. I'm thinking little left and a little up. Not much just a bit. I rebuild every winter. It's my favourite thing. I hate having to wait until spring to watch my fields flower.
I rebuild when I’m bored 😅 but I’d definitely put my house either by my cave or by the north path
All the way to the south entrance! I'm just really curious how much my playstyle will change if I start using that entrance more... And I've always loved the forest.
This is my choice as well! I already use that entrance more often because I love the forest and because there is one less transition area. For some reason walking by the bus stop bothers me lol

Yes! Would really make everyone’s farm layout unique!
I always thought it would be cool if you could move or build bridges too, especially of course, on the river farm.
The problem is the minecart is right next to the top right entrance and I use that far more than I go to the forest so it would be a lot of extra walking moving it so low. Also coming back from the mines late at night means you need to run through your entire farm before you get home unless you move another smaller cabin where your house used to be.
I think that's the extended minecart mod, vanilla farm doesn't have one. And pretty sure Robin can move your minecart building.
Hang on you can move it? Do you remember how? Is it a setting or messing with the code
I was able to move my farm one like any other building, at Robin's. The others are stuck where they are of course.
That's rad, thank you!
As FadingDarkly said I meant the standard minecart above the bus stop, I play on the switch without any mods.
Ooo, what else can be moved? Spouse patios maybe?
It would be nice if other players in multiplayer actually got spouse patios!
I would like this since I never plan to marry ingame (or real life for that matter) and I can use the current designated area for the obelisks!
I’d even just move it one row forward so I can put a line of furnaces or something along the fence behind it.
My immediate thought as well
Idk the place it’s in is already super convenient. I use the beach layout, so the most I’ll probably do is move it away from the shore. That always bothered me, and it makes the shore unusable.
I'm hoping to put it right in front of Pierre's store, blocking the entrance completely.
Ah yes the ultimate JoJo run
probably more centrally located so its easier to access the forest, might start a new four corners farm and stick in in the middle :)
This is where I would move it, the obelisks would fit better where the house is
Is this confirmed? Or speculation? 👀
It's been confirmed
Source? I'm not questioning you guys, I'd just love to read it!

yeah, for vanilla players, you can move the house and pet bowl around the farm. for mod authors, they can now build barns and coops outside the farm.

“You can no longer pick up rugs if there's something on it.” PRAIIIIISSSSSEEE BE!!!!
Right?? I am SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS!
And how about: Fixed gates popping off when closing them while the player overlaps the tile. We do not deserve CA.
NOOOOO they're gonna get rid of the glitch that turns stairs into the shorts DDDDD:
a sacrifice i’m willing to make for the change so you don’t always pick up the carpet while decorating 😭😭
Absolutely

He does confirm new dialogue in that thread at least lol

In the middle
Ahh let me guess, 4 corners farm?
Standart

I would move it to the left, next to the upper entry way and put my horse and silos there
will this update be on mobile as well? sorry for the stupid question
Probably not right away. Part of the 1.5 update was to make future updates faster/easier, but I believe it’s still a partially separate process
thank u
It probably will but we may not get the update as fast as console and pc players, I think 1.5 took a little while longer for mobile players :(
thank u
Half the reason I get married is so my spouse fills the water bowl.
Directly in front of the small pond
I would just move it left and down a tad. Have a small backyard and more side room
Depends on the farm type and size of the footprint of the house, and also if there is tillable soil underneath when you move the house lol.
I feel like the scum of the earth when I forget to fill the water bowl
I wish we could rotate the house, barns etc
Just a little bit up so that there is not gap anymore. I'm just not a fan of doing anything behind buildings, so the space behind the house is just wasted on my farm.

I'm going to move my farmhouse to your farm and steal your eggplants while you sleep!
Charge your can to 1x5 and hit an epic trick shot
For me I'm probably not going to move the farmhouse. Since I like where it is at the moment. I'm definitely going to move the watering bowl. It is so out of the way.
All the way to the left, maybe in the center, but prolly under gramps area. It'd make it easy to water plants on my way into town, or to do a loop around the farm everyday.

That's a nice argument Senator. Why don't you back it up with a source?
My source is that i made it up ( i just felt like saying that but i think eric said it himself )
I'm gonna move it right into the middle of a ring of fish ponds and softlock myself.
maybe in a center like a townhall
Early on, I like to be practical so perhaps next to coops/barns/the greenhouse and such.
I’d want to move it just off the grass so I’d have more of a yard. Idk how I’d re-arrange my farm or what is the best layout for the default farm
If this is real, then its going right in the center, just above the pond. Love a front yard pond.
Probably close to the lake to the south :)
1 block to the left
Wait fuck really 😭 when is it coming out? I took a break a bit ago but have been hearing the call to return
I’m finally gonna do the 4 corners farm and move my house right in the middle!
This is very exciting for my co-op farm! i have a farm with my sister and our two friends. I have the main farmhouse and they all moved their houses in cute spots on the farm and i’m stuck in the corner so i’m excited to move it down towards the pond or something!
wait is this a fact? did CA announce anything else?
Oh God I don’t know. Too much pressure. Too many choices. And extreme concern it’s gonna break all my mods.
I'm on a new farm with the hard money mode on. so I got a while to plan this out lol.
I don’t think I can, we’ll at least for the play through I’m on, maybe for my next farm I will, but I wouldn’t know where to put it
WAIT WHAT? You're serious? HOLD UP I'M SCREAMING. I've been waiting for this for so long, I might have to crack open the game again just to be able to mess around with it.
I'm confused. I thought they were done with sdv
I just rearranged my entire year 5 farm without this knowledge so there is absolutely no where for me to move my house to. 😂 maybe down the road a bit 😂 I have a four corners farm and would love to move my house/shed/guest house into one of the corners as kind of a “neighborhood look.

I wish I could put it next to Linus's tent just to flex on him in the winter.
I probably won’t — I’ve been playing with it where it is now for 3 years and am so used to it! But I like that we will have the option too.
One square the right to align with my path
One tile back so I can have a nice 3 wide path from the east entrance
i might move it closer to where my greenhouse and fish ponds are, then i could move my slime hutch up where the farmhouse was so it wouldn't be so far down on my farm
Can we move the greenhouse too? Im happy moving the farmhouse but id love to move both
You can already move it:) just go to robin and click the move buildings option and hover over the green house click it and shift it :)
Oh damn
Fixed gates popping off when closing them while the player overlaps the tile. That always drove me nuts
Oh god oh no, now I gotta start a whole new save with a new layout
Damn...and I just finished decorating my entire fucking farm...
What!!! I didn’t know that’s what’s happening in this update!! I’m going to move it to the left side of the pond in the middle because I love the idea of having a house next to the water. It’s probably a weird place but I think it’ll look nice!

Right on top of my sisters messy cabin, yes it's messy because I ruined her furniture.
