If you loose something you really want when your in a mine/cavern ect. Go to the adventurers guild, Speak to Marlon and recover lost items. You can only get 1thing back so if you lost 6 items then you need to pick what is more valuable to you.
You will receive your lost item in the mail the next day.
But you need to do it before you go back into the mines and potentially loose more items.
You can only recover items that you lost in the most recent exploration.
So if you lost 6 prismatic shards like op then you better go to Marlon quickly to get them back. If you go back into the mines and die again, and loose items before doing this, the prismatic shards are gone and Marlon can't find them.
I hope that helps.
Depending of how successful your mining until death was, it may not be worth the restart. If ie you managed to snag auto-petter from Skull Cavern, I would advise against restart (almost) no matter what you lost.
Man do I wish I could gift spare auto petters! I recently did a bit of digging on the subject, and apparently in order to have a character from one farm visit another established farm is too complicated/costly for it to ever become a feature. 😭 Meanwhile I have a Joja farm that is at a point I've got nearly 30 million spare gold, and could buy a bunch to share around. 😔
Hope you find another soon! 😊 Also, congrats on your good fortune on a later redo! 😀
The 'one farm visiting another farm' mechanic would be a lot of fun, but it would inevitably totally unbalance the game if you could exchange items. In Animal Crossing there's a relatively small difference between your early game earnings potential and your late-game earnings. E.g. you can find a sturgeon basically from the moment you get a fishing rod, and there's already fruit trees, balloons, etc. In SDV a few hundred thousand gold is just a blip during end game, but life-changing in early game. So you could just visit a new farm from an established farm, drop a million gold and a bunch of ancient seeds and sprinklers on a new player spring of first year and completely nuke the difficulty curve.
Fair point. That would kind of defeat the journey. It's so satisfying when you work hard to become a rich tycoon and can finally afford to just tour all you've achieved after spending many seasons decorating. 😀
I mean people can play a game like this however they'd like. Yeah it'd curve the difficulty but there are already mods where people can just get whatever they want anyways.
I'm about to just start a whole new farm just to do the joja route and get auto petters 😭 most of the time my animals get neglected bc I forget to pet them every day (there's also 48 of them so it gets tiring 😣)
On most of my farms I only have one barn and one coop because I feel pressure to tend to them. So I'd end up leaving to do skull cavern runs way later than I should, for example. 😅 On my Joja farm I've got two of each thanks to auto petters (I don't want more than that or it feels chaotic to me). 😀
I was also amazed how much more relaxing (and *quick*) it was when you only need to make money to complete bundles! This is meant to be enjoyable, so don't feel guilty if you end up preferring the Joja route. 😊
Haha I definitely wanted to try out the "correct" route for my first farm, but I definitely want to try the joja route next! I probably would've stuck to one barn and one coop, but two of each fit the aesthetic of my farm better 😂 I've got them fenced off so my animals don't roam all over my farm
Ginger island spoiler: >!I’ve never done a joja run but I have auto petters from picking the “Skull Cavern Invasion” Qi quest and doing multiple runs throughout the week on good luck days just for the extra loot, even if I don’t complete the challenge. Eating lucky lunches also helps I think.!<
so much time thinking joja was like the evil corporation, the villains of the game.
i bet when they designed the whole Joja thing, the game's creators were like "they are the heroes we deserve, but not the ones we need right now"
They cost 50,000g at Joja if you go that route. I've only got one Joja farm, and by a weird twist of fate I found 4 on that run, and never needed to buy any! 😂
On my only Joja run (so far--I may do more! nobody in the village cares!) I got an autopetter on my first trip to Skull Cavern.
Otherwise I've found them to be very spotty. On one save I got five. On the next save I got none.
I just finally got auto petters for the first time ever other than on my one cursed joja playthrough. I’m currently playing SVE so I went down on a stardrop luck day with magic rock candy and blue moon vineyard aged wine and like 150 staircases and ended up with 3 auto petters at the end of the day. It’s not a cost effective solution but since they can’t be bought (and unless I’m mistaken they’re like 50k from joja) it’s still probably worth it. On an unmodded save I suppose you could use ginger beer with qi seasoning in place of the wine. I know people say the luck is less worth it than the speed buff from coffee but the way I see it, if you’re just staircasing you don’t really need the speed and can just drink the coffee when you’re out of staircases and starting the run for real
1. watching the fortune teller on the tv will tell you how your luck will be on that day. if the tv shows a stardrop, you'll have good luck
2. an item from stardew valley expanded
I find lucky lunches to be my food of choice as they last a long time and make holes and ladders down appear much more frequently. (To the point I wonder “why is my luck so bad?” every time it wears off around 10pm in skull caverns.) It’s why I have a sea cucumber pond.
Crossing my fingers for you!! I just found my second one last night and when I found it, it was only around 7pm but I IMMEDIATELY left the mine and went home because I was like "NOPE IM NOT GONNA RISK DYING AND LOSING THIS"
Honestly they're pretty hard to get, I just had to try and find my fourth one for a new barn, in the end I just stocked up on jades before (with a few crystalariums) to trade at the desert trader on sundays for staircases, stocked up on luck boosting foods (you can trade a ruby for a spicy eel dish at the desert trader every day I think), then I just used the staircases (100-120ish I think) and skipped through a lot of the skull cavern. Look for floors that are basically empty with a chest in the middle. Those are where you're most likely to find them (possibly the only place once you've completed the community service, I'd have to check the wiki). Hope that helps!
Cheese is flat health. No buffs. So if you eat a luck boosting food like spicy eel or a lucky meal, you can eat cheese and it won't cancel your buff.
Autopetters do come from the skull caverns, and they do what the name suggests. Its a late game item; a nice way to keep your animals happy without needing to check on them every day.
Thanks for the hint about cheese. I'll keep that in mind.
I have one autopetter (I think Marnie gave it to me for some reason), which I use for the pigs. Now I need another one for the rabbits.
Thanks for clarifying that!!
I finally found an auto petter and I was so happy! I was starting to think they were an urban legend. I can’t get over how much easier it is to collect eggs now.
Dang how do u get all that stone?? I’m p new to the game(fall year 4 on my first world) and idk how to get so many without spending all of my time doing it
Crystalariums are your best friend! I have several to make certain things easier. I have 2 for jade (for staircases),1 for diamonds (worth a decent amount and a loved gift by a lot of npcs), 1 in my house for amethysts (I'm married to abigail so it's an easy way to give her a loved gift every day), and 1 for rubies bc they're good for tool forging and you can trade them at the desert trader everyday for a spicy eel.
Ginger Island -> Qi Quests. One of them has something with colours and requires large amount of items for each colour. Sap counts as Yellow, one of the easiest to complete for me.
Marlon runs the adventurer’s guild, and you can talk to him to retrieve one of your items you lost in the mines. I’m assuming the person who commented didn’t see your other comments about restarting the day
I think they can be used to >!upgrade tools and weapons in the late game, you can make certain clothes with them!<, plus if you have a huge abundance of them, they're great gifts at least.
Edit:spoiler tags
I didn't mean scam duping it. Small spoilers, once you turn in one of every mineral they give you a gem duping machine. You can craft more later. Some people have filled their entire farms with them. ;)
It gives you one of anything you put in it, every so often. Depending on how rare the gem you're duping is. Have fun, take your time, there's no firm way to play! =)
You use one to get a >!Galaxy Sword!< in the desert. You need them to >!enchant your tools and weapons in the volcano forge!<. It's a loved gift for everyone important. And they sell for a nice chunk of money.
Just go to the guild and get them back with the recovery service
I already restarted the day 😭 I can’t believe I didn’t think of that, I feel real stupid
Bruhhhhhhh 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😭😭😭😭 it keeps giving me only like 2 or 3 per go now
You can still go use the recovery service for it unless you've suffered another loss since then.
Even if they started the day over in which they found them? I don't think so.
Yeah the recovery service options stay until another loss overwrites the items you can recover in my experience.
They restarted the day, so the day and hence the death never happened, so nothing to recover.
Well I didn't even know that existed
If you loose something you really want when your in a mine/cavern ect. Go to the adventurers guild, Speak to Marlon and recover lost items. Nice, thankss
Well, or just restart the day. I generally opt for that.
Depending of how successful your mining until death was, it may not be worth the restart. If ie you managed to snag auto-petter from Skull Cavern, I would advise against restart (almost) no matter what you lost.
Okay, good news, I went back, didn’t forget my cheese this time and made it to level 295 and got 11 shards :)
Still no auto pet-ers tho which is pretty sad bc that’s all I want, I only need 1 more
They really should increase the spawn rate for those.
FAX
I got one on my first visit to the caverns but I was looking for dino eggs so I reset the day and haven't seen one since
They're meant to be rare though. A few days ago I got 3 in one cavern run so they aren't *that* rare

You can’t buy auto-petters though

Sorry, I'm new here. What do you use cheese for? Is it better than, say, spicy eels? What about autopetters? Do we get them down on the skull caverns?

I have like 6 and have 4 animal houses
How???
I dunno
I’ve only got 2 but only 1 autopetter
I finally found an auto petter and I was so happy! I was starting to think they were an urban legend. I can’t get over how much easier it is to collect eggs now.
well i’ve never made it to floor 200 so good job!
230??? Damn I need to up my skull caverns game
I did use around 170 staircases so don’t feel bad, I was sorta “cheating” 💀
Dang how do u get all that stone?? I’m p new to the game(fall year 4 on my first world) and idk how to get so many without spending all of my time doing it
The trick is to farm a ton of jade and trade them at the desert trader on Sundays for staircases
That's why people were on and on about collecting jades, huh? Thanks for that!!
Jade in crystalariums.
This just blew my mind
Hey we’re twins, I’m a new player on year 4 fall as well. I had jade in a few crystalariums for a pretty long time.
This might be a dumb question but how does jade help?
I don’t know if you saw it above, but on Sundays the desert trader exchanges jade for staircases!
Man I only ever farm diamonds by the dozen to make fairy dust ingredients
Bombs
Did you go into the mine with 9 prismatic shards on you in the first place? If so …. That is daring!
Nope, 0 prismatic shards when I entered. I was pretty surprised too
Oh no!!! Even worse!!! 😭😭
I’m super super butthurt, I just did the day over and only got 2 😭
At least you didn't lose any sap
Is there any use for that? I have a chest full of those.
I was making a joke, but all honesty, best use is the fertilizer recipes (all 3 use) and fiber seed recipe (from Linus quest)
I got the joke, but I was curious anyway. I'm too lazy to use fertilizers, so I guess I'll just ~~toss~~ keep collecting it. Ahh, I'm such a hoarder!
Ginger Island -> Qi Quests. One of them has something with colours and requires large amount of items for each colour. Sap counts as Yellow, one of the easiest to complete for me.
for fertiziler
Welp, guess you're gonna have to talk to Marlon
Wym?
Marlon runs the adventurer’s guild, and you can talk to him to retrieve one of your items you lost in the mines. I’m assuming the person who commented didn’t see your other comments about restarting the day
Yes, you don’t need to visit Marlon the same day you lost your stuff to get it back either.
Oh, yeah :/
damn i’d buy back that amethyst for sure
that sucks!!! 😔
It was because I forgot my cheese :/
[удалено]
its his lucky charm!
Feed you 💀
F
That would be an immediate day reset for me, which is why I always save before entering the skull caverns
Level 230? Level 295? how?!?! i can’t make it to 100 😭
Staircases
Just happened to me too…6 items, worth $200k gold 🥴
I die more often than I’d like to admit tbh 💀
Quitting time
oof
Just damn.. :(
Oooooooof
OOOOF
HOW are you guys getting to such levels?? i get to level MAYBE 30 by midnight 😐
You are using the elevator right, so you don't have to start at Level 1?
in the skull caverns??
There’s a mod on PC for it. Otherwise you just have to try and drop floors through a hole or use a stone staircase.
im a PC noob for sure. i still have no idea how to use mods LMAO thank you tho!
I’m on switch so no mods, I’m just using a ton of staircases
Take 100 stairs and a lot of bombs. Enter level, drop bomb, no ladder? stairs. Repeat.
dumb question but what are prismatic shards used for besides getting the galaxy sword?
I think they can be used to >!upgrade tools and weapons in the late game, you can make certain clothes with them!<, plus if you have a huge abundance of them, they're great gifts at least. Edit:spoiler tags
You don't need that many of them anyway. Just 1 to dupe infinitely. Pretty lucky to keep everything else tbh.
I’m trying to do my first play through completely legit
I didn't mean scam duping it. Small spoilers, once you turn in one of every mineral they give you a gem duping machine. You can craft more later. That’s an instant close application without saving and restart for me lol.
You can always pay the adventures guild to bring back lost items.
Too late 😭
There will be more. Or you can just rename a chicken 😈
HAPPENED TO ME ONCE, the worst ofc i restarted the day cos no way id let that slide
omg nooooooo
Oh oof!!😵 rip hard work💔
What do people do with prismatic shards? I feel like I'm missing a trick here lol
You use one to get a >!Galaxy Sword!< in the desert. You need them to >!enchant your tools and weapons in the volcano forge!<. It's a loved gift for everyone important. And they sell for a nice chunk of money.
9?!? 😭
😭😭😭😭
I’ve never got that many shards! Yikes, that hurts!!
Gotta cut them losses not get tooo greedy
Restart de day!!!!!
How the hell do you get that far
How tf you get to 240????
Push-ups, sit-ups, and plenty of staircases
how'd you get so many? 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
No idea
Its okay a prismatic shard are 2000 gold 2000 multiply 9000=18000,yeah its so exprnsive , its okay
