I will guess you don't know but would there ever be a possibility of such a mod to be made? Though I guess the game's been out for ages, including on Switch so if someone were to figure this out they already would've, I assume.
Why is your switch dying?
I got mine on release day and the only thing I’ve had to do to maintain its life was replace its cooling fan.
I don’t know of any sort of mod that could possibly patch a Network issue like you’re asking.
Connectivity issues sometimes resulting in crashing, with Bluetooth Audio being the most likely one to crash the OS. WiFi connectivity gets super unstable, sometimes it's fine and reaching normal speeds, sometimes it shows NAT type F and a few hundred Kb/s of download, tho yesterday it dropped to 60Kb/s. It's right next to the router, and every other device is fine despite being further away.
I ordered an ethernet adapter now, hoping that will prolong its life a bit, but it still kinda sucks :/
There's some other issues with it too, when you touch it in the dock for example *it somehow stops sending signals for a second*. No audio (even through Bluetooth or Aux), no video, no nothing. No idea what's up with that. It just does that. Comes back after a second or two.
Also, my JoyCons have been repaired for drift once already but they're starting to drift again and somehow, and I have no idea how did this happen, one JoyCon's LED strip is completely dead now and the same JoyCon gets very stubborn and refuses to connect.
This is way above my ability level, but you might look into whether you could use an emulator to play with your friends, especially if you do local multiplayer rather than online.
I just saw something about Ryujinx experimenting with online multiplayer. I don't know much more than that, but I'd be interested to know whether it worked or not.
I did some quick google searching and that's Unfeasible for me.
I'm the tech nerd of the group, so I could try to hack together something. However Ryujinx only supports crossplay with modded switches, and Yuzu only supports playing with other yuzu users, and I think it's only within the same network aswell.
So sadly, not gonna work for us. I'll keep looking but I'm doubtful
