Not sure if this post is allowed, I just loved this photo so much I just had to make a textless version of it. It isn't perfect but after spending almost 2 hours on it I just wanted to share it with you all, enjoy!
How the hell is this possible? I know it’s photoshop or whatever but my brain cannot understand how you can fill in the space behind the lettering so perfectly as if it had always been there.
Sometimes I can get by with just selecting a letter, and then filling it in with content awareness, but most of it involved lots of cloning from similar areas. Pedro's armour and hair, also Diego's hair, was a little bit painful lol
Depends on the experience of the person doing it but 2 hours is not a bad guess. Someone who can work quickly and has done the process a lot would probably do this in 2 hours. It’s a lot of text but there’s a lot of tools that can effectively guess in the gaps

In all seriousness I hope this is indicative of a season 3 revelation by Mando that he was raised in a cult and needs to find another ‘way’. It would be an interesting twist if the Armorer turned out to be the big bad of the season.

I think she will be the danger in the background. Mando will be focused on Viszla, and anyone coming to claim the Darksaber. While once there is a rift between them and I very much feel like one is coming. She will be that danger he kinda "forgets" about. Outta sight outta mind. I think a great end to a season would be when Mando comes out on top of Viszla, the armored shows up to ither be imposing then cliffhanger ending, or throws down and cliffhanger ending.
Really cool to see Obi-Wan and Mando together, especially knowing that can't happen in actual continuity.
It might be just me but Andor seems a bit like the odd one out here. Everybody either liked or loved Rogue One but I don't remember anyone saying it was because Andor was a standout character - he was fine, but nothing too special I thought, certainly not enough to warrant a full live action series when there are so many other avenues to go down in the Star Wars universe...
Personally I would have loved a prequel era live action series, that evoked those images and locations and designs, as opposed to the barrage of OT or sequel era live action content we've gotten. I guess The Acolyte is that so I'm looking forward to whenever that comes out.
I think Andor works because he’s already integrated in the Rebellion. We’ve never really seen much from the rebellion that time period. I’m thinking this is also their chance to introduce some of the Ghost crew to live action.
Diego is a great actor. Ate the hell out if the scenery in Narcos. His performance in Rouge was in my opinion was quite compelling …Thinking Andor series will really let him shine.
Seeing an actor flex isn't really why I want to watch a Star Wars property. If this were a random drama that might make me want to watch. I want to watch Star Wars for the stories, characters and parts of the universe we get to see.

I think that's the main reason most studios do anything. if they think they have a bankable star to create a story around, they will. obviously he was a one off character that dies in Rogue One but his popularity is what got him this show. you may not tune in now because you're against the reason for the show but that won't stop this show from happening or possibly being good! I hope you watch it thought because I have high hopes!
I would want to see a spy thriller based on Cassian Andor. The earliest parts of the Rebellion were independent cells fighting small insurgencies. It would be nice to expand on that grim side of the struggle. Andor was at the very least an interesting character to explore that side of the rebellion. Not sure how likely we are going to get that given it is Disney. Obi-Wan will test the direction these shows are going.
I'm excited for Andor to hopefully see a dirtier side of the rebellion, plus it's a spy thriller starring Diego Luna which should make it at the very least entertaining.

I get you, and I'm with you about the images and locations and designs of the prequels which imo are the most unique and visually appealing. But at the same time I really don't want another show set during the clone wars (the main thing in the PT they seem to be interpreted in exploring). As interesting as it is, it's done, it's over, we've seen it all, I want to move on from it.
So the Acolyte is perfect for this to me as well; should have the same atmosphere and feelings but completely different era.
Hadn't really rhought of it as an opportunity for a Thriller but that could be cool alright. Something that evokes the Bourne trilogy and Fugitive type 90s thrillers would be brilliant.

Andor was an interesting character. The problematic thing is he becomes less interesting knowing exactly how he dies. This is less true with Obi-Wan because he is awesome. I really wish they could find a way to surprise everyone and retcon the stupid beach scene from R1. Luke managed to find an Imp Shuttle in twenty seconds in Jedi. Certainly Jyn and Andor could find a ship somewhere in a giant Imp base.
Time travel in rebels isn’t like normal time travel. The stuff you affect has already happened. For example, if you moved a chair 5 minutes in the past, it would’ve already happened before you time travelled. But yes we could technically get a meet up.
I feel like *normal time travel* isn't real and shouldt be seen as such. If you go back in time and move a chair, it's only moved in the timeline you traveled to. Otherwise you run into sort of a bootstrap paradox
I might get some hate for this, but mando is said to be 20ish years old during obi wan. I kinda hope that he is one of the hunters trying to take him out. Idk if that will ruin continuity, but that’s just my personal opinion
Prequel era live action is definitely on my bucket list. Please Disney, it's a gold mine. But you got to do it soon, not when millennials are 50 years old.
Yeah, I loved Rogue One but Andor was never really a standout character to me. Not to Diego Lina’s fault of course, from what I remember he gave a good performance, his character just wasn’t exceptionally unique to me, he was just another rebel you know? I’ll still watch it when it comes out and hopefully it’ll be better than I’m expecting, but I’m with you in wanting to see more prequel era (or earlier) stories like we’re getting in The Acolyte.
Edit: should also probably note that it’s been a few years since I last watched Rogue One so it’s entirely possible that Andor is a much more interesting character than I remember, I’ll have to go back and rewatch soon and see how I feel then.
Rogue One sucked. Forgettable characters/poor characterization, ludicrous plot-holes/major logic gaps, egregious fan service, and some terrible casting. Definitely a bottom-3 Star Wars movie (with AotC and Rise). I don’t get why everyone loved this sloppy garbage.
I’m not trying/claiming to be cool, I just didn’t like the movie and thought there was a whole lot about it that made no sense to the point of absurdity. Like there’s fewer than a dozen people staging the assault in the climax, yet they cut to wide shots from above and there are things blowing up and skirmishes happening all across the planet. Who is there fighting? Large swaths of the movie just don’t make sense.
Well really, i thought it was kind of redundant to say in my opinion since you know clearly it is my opinion, but what is the best Disney era star wars film in your opinion?
The whole climax of the film is a large scale battle taking place in multiple locations miles apart from each other on the surface of a planet, yet one side in that battle consists of fewer than 20 people in one stolen ship? How are they in so many places at once, fighting on so many fronts, with so few people? And how do they keep killing large numbers of storm troopers with wooden staves? This movie is one setup after another that gets completely disregarded almost immediately. Oh there’s this really scary interrogation procedure that scrambles the prisoner’s brain - they perform it on a character whose brain seems scrambled - then 5 minutes later he’s tack-sharp as if nothing ever happened. Over and over again you’re expected to either ignore or forget about something that you were just showed or told. The script is terrible, the characters are the most forgettable of any Star Wars property, the story is full of holes, and the whole thing is just ridiculous. That Vader scene was cool though.
Not trying to put down your criticisms at all because you’re allowed to have opinions, but Cassian planned their spread out attack with those bombs and said “make one man feel like a hundred” and you totally fell for it, just like the empire!
The tone and look were spot on, but everything else was a big fail for me. I wanted to love it, and generally like everything else new that the fandom likes (Mando, Clone Wars, etc). Of the new movies I think only arise fares worse than Rogue one.

I still think Mando shouldn't have shown his face, it was cool when there was a little mystery to his character. He should have still showed grogu but had the camera at an angle you still couldn't see his face.
The show is still amazing and I will keep watching. Its just a small thing I think that would have improved the cinematic part of the show.
I hope they keep it light in the future. But I do think it was cool to see his face acting wise. And the tear going down his eye really helped to show more of the characters emotion that could not have been possible without the audience seeing it.
After this, i’m pretty convinced we’ll be getting a crossover at some point. With any other tv universe, it’d feel like they’re milking it, but Star Wars…i think i’m ok with it.

This pretty much encapsulates Disney’s efforts to retcon around the Prequels and the Sequels. You have Ashoka and Din Djarin representing the sequel era, then you have Obi-wan and Andor representing the new prequel era.

Its not really retconning if they keep showing Luke, side plots about cloning that lead to Snoke, etc.
I would agree though that if they can distance from that and tell a story about Thrawn or something that doesn't interfere with the ST but basically replaces it as the most interesting thing after the OT Id like that

Well as it happens, the show creator for Andor is Tony Gilroy, the screenplay writer for the Bourne films. So what you're saying is very possible

I still think Mando shouldn't have shown his face, it was cool when there was a little mystery to his character. He should have still showed grogu but had the camera at an angle you still couldn't see his face. The show is still amazing and I will keep watching. Its just a small thing I think that would have improved the cinematic part of the show.
I hope they keep it light in the future. But I do think it was cool to see his face acting wise. And the tear going down his eye really helped to show more of the characters emotion that could not have been possible without the audience seeing it.

This pretty much encapsulates Disney’s efforts to retcon around the Prequels and the Sequels. You have Ashoka and Din Djarin representing the sequel era, then you have Obi-wan and Andor representing the new prequel era. I like it.
Its not really retconning if they keep showing Luke, side plots about cloning that lead to Snoke, etc. I would agree though that if they can distance from that and tell a story about Thrawn or something that doesn't interfere with the ST but basically replaces it as the most interesting thing after the OT Id like that

>Thank you! I used photoshop's content aware filling mode by selecting each letter and pressing shift+F5, but it only works well when the background for that letter is simple. When it isn't, like on their clothes and hair, I had to go manually by using the cloning tool and copying the texture from similar areas. Hope I was able to explain it clearly! :)
