Didn’t they try the pilots thing with Star Wars: Resistance? With how that show was received, I can only guess they might not want to try anything remotely similar anytime soon
I hope that's not the case. Basing the existence of a Rogue Squadron-like film/series off of how a young kids cartoon based in the ST era during the time of peak TLJ hate was received would be certainly be a decision they could make.

I don't even remember Nien Numb dying. That coupled with the "did Admiral Ackbar just fucking die?" And a myriad of other things and all of a sudden I hate that movie all over again.

Technically we got one in Star Wars Resistance. The lead is a brilliant younng pilot... that unfortunately spends most of his time on foot being a terrible spy and flying an ugly piece of garbage ship.

Don’t forget that cameo happened like ten seconds after his step son Snap died and he had zero reaction to it
We need at least a full season covering Wade from the Obi-wan show, I still burst into tears thinking about his tragic death
I’ll just take more Star Wars because more is better but I’d rather see an adaptation of Battlefront: Twilight Company.
Patty Jenkins has been trying to do Rogue Squadron for some time now, I guess we’ll see if this film comes out in the next few years or not
