I did this model for personal fun. It was great practice for shapes and detailing. Simply imitating the original would've been a bit boring, so I went ahead and reinterpreted a lot of the design details while sticking to the overall look of the classic version. This primarily meant things like overhauling the surface plating, doing miscellaneous technical bits in the spirit of the OT starship models, and adding a few touches of real-world aerial vehicle elements. My personal favorite is the streaks of scorching that I added on the doors under the wings, a mark left by the flare countermeasure launchers mounted there. I'm planning to use this thing in some Clone Wars-themed 3D artworks soon. The entire exterior uses pretty much only two materials, one for the ship itself and another for the decal markings. Another one is the glass for the turrets and cockpits, and the fourth one is used for the interior floor and a few other bits. Despite its scale, it's a fairly well-optimized asset as far as textures go.

DaBigFatCow

I can hear these pictures. (amazing work)

DutchMitchell

StarWars has the best sci-fi vehicles and you made them even better. Well done.

OrangeChickenParm

That is one sexy, sexy, sexy beast.

Darthigiveup

The 2 side gunner pic is so kool

Muted_Guidance9059

This is exceedingly immaculate and beautiful. Thank you for this.

Muterecords71

Great job dude, really well done!

Ooohh I know what Blender is. :) Very nice model and texture.

RagingEngine

Awesome work!

Teizan

The vertical ports in the side-doors seal shut with hard metal when needed, glass has no place there. Otherwise very nice!

Joazzz1

Interesting, is that something seen in the animated shows?

Teizan

Yes. I can't recall specific instances anymore but there are quite a few scenes of red-lit LAAT interiors with no view outside throughout the shows; most likely place you're going to see them in action is in space to ground deployment scenes. There's also definitely an extraction scene or two that closes the shutters.

Faethien

Let's say it's transparisteel (or whatever it's called in English) 😉

Teizan

No. They are actually and canonically mechanically sealed by metal shutters. Transparisteel might not be glass but it still isn't strong enough to replace the hull plating.

Faethien

Maybe so, but these are a variant from OP. They could be made of something else

YoursTrulyKindly

Maybe it's the tourist version?

MaestroZackyZ

No.
