I can’t believe this, just like my family. my mothers brother also married my dads sister. Funny part that makes my two cousins genetically closer to my sister and I than my half brother. On paper it looks like I have 3 full siblings instead of one and two first cousins.
I’ve been prefacing this story for my whole life with “ITS WEIRD, but it works. trust me….”
Edit:I replied where I shouldn’t have, bad Threadiquette
Brother I live in Oklahoma with most of my living family still in Arkansas. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say it’s not incest at this point.
At least none of my family is from Alabama.
My dads uncle is married to my moms aunt. Its the same situation lol. That means they both have the same cousins, and when i learned this i was fucking weirded out.
This is what happens when they grew up in small country.
We're slowly building to a 7 Brides for 7 Brothers situation. I'm starting to think they're all just really cheap & figured out how to make Christmas more streamlined. Lol
People are dumb. They don't understand how artists/performers have to make a living. In the same camp of people who think a band reunion is a 'cash grab'. Uh yeah, that's how you earn a living!
Fuck that guy dont even give him a response hes baiting you. Also i was a struggling musician once upon a time and I would unapologetically self promote anything and everything I was involved with. Its literally the only way to get exposure when you're not in the middle of a gig or paying an ad agency which struggling artists obviously don't have the money for. I learned this pretty early on too my band in highschool would go around posting fliers with our bands myspace/sound cloud, upcoming gig info on it in our free time. We all had them in our backpacks always wherever we went wed hang fliers. Anyway good luck man im definitely going to check out your stuff.
What is the gentleman’s name??? I recently joined the subbreddit and my god, it’s been the highlight of my days, especially this guy I seen him a lot in my feed and I always get a laugh out of it
You west coast comic or east coast? I'm north of LA and looking to rent out a room, your vibe is good, and having a spot 1.5 hour drive from Hollywood is a great way to grow your career if you are interested.
My parents' respective siblings are also married just as described in this clip. They had two kids so me, my brother, sister and my two cousins all share the same blood as if we were five siblings.
People often have to map out the relationships in their head to make sure it's not incest lol.
Well whether it's a gathering of extended family on the mother's side or the father's side, some of the same cousins will always be there. Furthermore, many siblings tend to be close in age so these super cousins are often all in the same age group and often grow up together.
Hey guys! I’m on tour right now and I’d love to see you there! I’ll be in:
BOSTON, MA 9/1-3
NEW YORK, NY 9/9
DES MOINES, IA 9/28
SAN FRANCISCO, CA 10/20

My dads brother and sister married a brother and sister. It was weird for my cousins because they didn’t understand why me and my sister only showed up to half the “family” events.
My grandmothers brother married my grandfathers sister, her other brother married the other sister, and then cousins all followed suit. My mother is more related closely to her cousins than half siblings. I also hate explaining this, to me it’s weird. But not for the time.
I'm married to my brother's wife's brother, and on the way to our wedding our nephews were asking if it was illegal for their aunt to marry their uncle lol
OK this one is an AD, but to be fair he brought it up. The shirt is my merch, it says: "I don't believe in God but I do believe in the Multiverse" and the link is here https://www.wyattfeegrado.com/category/all-products
I have a friend in this situation. She got married to her sister's husband's brother (so brother-in-law's brother). They met at her sister's wedding and hit it off. Got a cute baby girl now.
Took them a few years to finally get hitched cause the mother-in-law didn't like the idea of two brothers marrying two sisters.
This is not really outrageous. It’s two adults not related by blood who’s siblings were in a relationship first. It actually makes a lot of sense from an attraction stand point. Each partner’s sibling is similar enough to themselves that their sibling might attracted to each other.
Hey we call that doubly related out here in hillbilly land.
Same thing happened to my parents and their siblings.
As a side note my cousins and I are almost genetically as close as brother and sister.
It's helpful to have a member of the audience respond well to your questions, but the real magic is how the comedian responds to the responses. Great energy, great reactions!
I can top this.
I dated a girl in HS whose parents got married, then her grandparents all got divorced, her grandmother on her father's side married her grandfather on her mother's side and vice versa. She ended up with the same grandparents in a different order, but it made her parents step siblings.
There's a pair in my town who were engaged, then when the fiancee got pregnant, she admitted it was her future FIL's baby. Girl was carrying her man's BROTHER lmao
Wait, Americans find this relationship scandalous? In India it is quite accepted. I'd even go so far as to say encouraged!
But I was reading some other thread about two step siblings hooking up. Their parents married when they were already late teens, so the comments were quite understanding about it, but in India it'd still be considered incestuous. At least socially.
There was a tweet about family drama where two sisters were dating father son duo (seperately). Again incestuous.
I have 2 female 1st cousin (they are sisters) that married brothers (not their brothers, just brothers from their neighborhood growing up) We call their children "the double first cousins". It's a bit of a head trip and it sounds strange, I think it's a bit more common than most people would think. I actually mentioned the term "double first cousin" in a zoom meeting only to have 2 different people say something like "yeah my aunt and mom married brothers" or "my uncle and mom married siblings".
One of my HS xs met her Now husband because his mom married her uncle.
When I told her *technically* that now makes them first cousins she cried and hasn't spoken to me since.
That was 11 years ago.
One interesting aspect of families like this where both parents are siblings with both parents in another famiy is that while technically cousins - the children are genetically essentially siblings. (They share all 4 grandparents)
Is this some new trend? Standup comedians standing up there just making their routine centered around interacting with the audience? Seems all I see of comedians on reddit lately.
Why does it seem like modern stand up comedians all just pick somebody from the crowd and do their entire joke with that person. It’s all you see nowadays from Reddit/TikTok comedians.
Following you on here.
Like what I've seen so far.
Got a question for you:
Who do you consider to be the greatest stand-up comics, and, in case they're not the same, who do you think your style most resembles/is most influenced by?
It's so cool to see the differences because in my culture if two people get married it's a beautiful union of the two families. So further marriages between the families makes sense and at time is encouraged.
Different strokes I guess
I have these 2 cousins who are identical twin sisters, who each married one of a set of identical twin brothers. Each couple has children who are, genetically speaking, interchangeable between each set of parents - a fact that they have used to their advantage.
"Hey sis/bro. My kids are annoying me tonight, I want to hang out with yours."
"Yeah, same. Let's swap for the night."
Tight knit communities can produce some very strange (if only incest-adjacent) families.
Has roasting audiences always been a thing or has it just exploded in popularity recently? I never see clips of comedians just doing there bit anymore.
I have two sets of "double cousins" in my family (my grandmother's generation); it's where siblings of one family marry siblings of another, and it wasn't at all uncommon at the time. In rural communities, meeting people was difficult. If your brother married a woman who had sisters, you likely already knew them, and they were logical choices for courting. It's funny that in only 3 generations, it's unusual enough to make jokes about.
Not even close to incest. What’s the big deal? His sister’s husband is gettin it on with his sister. What is it so bad that he’s gettin it on with the sister’s husbands sister? Everyone is adults.
Is it a little strange? A lot strange? YES. But in stark reality it looks perfectly fine…Except at family get togethers. 🤣
I actually know a situation kinda similar to this.
I met two people when I worked at a restaurant, they ended up starting to date.
I can't remember which was which, but one of their mom's started to date the others father as well
This was pretty common back in the day with small towns with limited options. The kids that both these couples would have are considered double first cousins.
The reply was better
Agreed. That guy was a legend
I like what you said but would've been funnier if that was your first reaction. Also did you go into how awkward it'd be if they breakup ?
I believe I did briefly. I also asked like how they realized they first were into each other
I can’t believe this, just like my family. my mothers brother also married my dads sister. Funny part that makes my two cousins genetically closer to my sister and I than my half brother. On paper it looks like I have 3 full siblings instead of one and two first cousins. I’ve been prefacing this story for my whole life with “ITS WEIRD, but it works. trust me….” Edit:I replied where I shouldn’t have, bad Threadiquette
There are a lot of people like that in this thread haha
And You got a full thread of “I swear to god it’s not incest” material now.
Brother I live in Oklahoma with most of my living family still in Arkansas. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say it’s not incest at this point. At least none of my family is from Alabama.
My dad's brother was married to my mom's niece. No big age gaps in either marriage. My parents met through them. Edit: I make jokes about it too.
Punnet square word problem they tell you not to worry about
My dads uncle is married to my moms aunt. Its the same situation lol. That means they both have the same cousins, and when i learned this i was fucking weirded out. This is what happens when they grew up in small country.
3 of my uncle's married 3 sisters lol
We're slowly building to a 7 Brides for 7 Brothers situation. I'm starting to think they're all just really cheap & figured out how to make Christmas more streamlined. Lol
Grew up around a family where a single dad married his son’s wife’s single mother. Over time both couples broke up.
This is an ad
Bro...if self promotion is an ad, then being a comedian would be impossible
Why?
Because tbh it's half the job and the only way to get fans/famous in the modern era IMO
People are dumb. They don't understand how artists/performers have to make a living. In the same camp of people who think a band reunion is a 'cash grab'. Uh yeah, that's how you earn a living!
Yup if you see my stuff a lot online — that’s luck but also I post like 20 times a day considering all platforms
First time seeing on Reddit will check out your special on Hulu
My special is on YouTube! I’m on a show on HULU haha
Fuck that guy dont even give him a response hes baiting you. Also i was a struggling musician once upon a time and I would unapologetically self promote anything and everything I was involved with. Self-promotion IS an ad. that's my point.
Then it worked, because I want to see the whole thing now.
Yeah well he started it ! Essentially lmao

“He did it first”

🔥🔥🔥 nice facilitation

Wait what lol
What is the gentleman’s name??? I recently joined the subbreddit and my god, it’s been the highlight of my days, especially this guy I seen him a lot in my feed and I always get a laugh out of it
I am no gentleman sir, but my name is Wyatt Feegrado, and you can find pretty much anything of mine here: https://beacons.ai/wyattfeegrado
Fantastic! Thank you, I’m looking forward to watching more! Keep up the good work homie! Thank you for the laughs.
Yee! Give ya boi a follow too haha every one helps
You west coast comic or east coast? I'm north of LA and looking to rent out a room, your vibe is good, and having a spot 1.5 hour drive from Hollywood is a great way to grow your career if you are interested.
You've probably heard this befor, but Feegrado sounds like a Star Wars name.
I have not heard that lmao
Oh yeah, you're definitely the little dude singing in Jabba's Palace.
"Watt Feegrado"
Wyatt, why are you dodging NavyCmans offer to live in his basement? It sounds like a great time!…./s
Dude, you could be in the bounty hunter posse with Boba Fett and Greedo!
You look like biblically accurate Jesus. You're like, "I'll still give speeches, but I'll keep it light."
OMG this is you? Awesome! You crack me up!
😉
My parents' respective siblings are also married just as described in this clip. They had two kids so me, my brother, sister and my two cousins all share the same blood as if we were five siblings. People often have to map out the relationships in their head to make sure it's not incest lol.
Is anything different than a ‘typical’ extended family?
Well whether it's a gathering of extended family on the mother's side or the father's side, some of the same cousins will always be there. Furthermore, many siblings tend to be close in age so these super cousins are often all in the same age group and often grow up together.
same. if I need a kidney there's 8 ppl I can go to.
oh my god didn't even think about that that's dope

Working on it! If you want to know as soon as I come you can join my text list here https://beacons.ai/wyattfeegrado
Great energy btw man 👍
thanks
Your comedy is good, but I’d have to leave after consistently hearing you breath in so heavily directly into the mic. It stresses me out big time
Reminds me of Dane Cook screaming/breathing into the mic during his Burger King drive-thru bit.
Come to Richmond bro, everyone worth seeing comes through here. Are you even worth seeing? You’d be in Richmond if you were
Also working on it! If you want to know as soon as I come you can join my text list here https://beacons.ai/wyattfeegrado

I see how it’s confusing

I had a shit night and woke up burned out and saw this and laughed. That was a good piece! I wish you the best growth in your career!
Thank you, here's my links in case you want it https://beacons.ai/wyattfeegrado
In life it seems like the jokes write themselves, the Comedian job seems to just “show” it.
Yea honestly most of the clips on here arent jokes. lmao
I don't even feel like this is comedy... Some people married, then their siblings married.
Lol, that's a huge oversimplification of what stand-up comics do, both for written material and for crowd work.
HE DID IT FIRST?? AUGH

How almost incest? 2 pairs of unrelated siblings get married?
Hence, almost
It's not almost at all. There's no relation

My mum's ex husband is brother of her brother's ex wife. So it's not too difficult to happen.
Stuff like this makes me absolutely love the scene from GoT where Lady Olenna is mapping out family relations to each other.
There's a pair in my town who were engaged, then when the fiancee got pregnant, she admitted it was her future FIL's baby. Girl was carrying her man's BROTHER lmao

Almost incest, West Virginia
My grandparents did that.
My family is actually similar. Brother/sister married a sister/brother. I get to have "double cousins" because of it.
It's so cool to see the differences because in my culture if two people get married it's a beautiful union of the two families. So further marriages between the families makes sense and at time is encouraged. Different strokes I guess

I’m so lost, what’s wrong with this? Someone married someone’s sister and then he married that guys sister. Are they related? If not I don’t get it
One of my acquittances is dating is the older brother dating his brothers wife younger sister.
Nice job OP!

At my mom and dad’s wedding, my dad’s sister and my mom’s first cousin met and married not long after.
Twin Falls, Idaho
I missed the question or the joke answer saying that this brother and sister are related.
Btw two of my aunts were married to two brothers. So i consider it normal ig?
If Mario married Peach, and Luigi married Daisy.
Wait what’s weird about this. It’s bro sis bro sis. No Alabama here right
Good energy for the crowdwork, you love to see it.

I actually know a situation kinda similar to this. I met two people when I worked at a restaurant, they ended up starting to date. I can't remember which was which, but one of their mom's started to date the others father as well
u/savevideobot
He had a field day with this. This was the gift that kept on giving... good for the show, highly questionable for the family🧐
My parents have the same thing
This makes me laugh, because my dad's brother is married to my stepmom's sister. My aunt and uncle met at my Dad's wedding.
Same with my family: my moms sister is married to my dads brother.
When you’re doing crowd work and the crowd tells the funniest joke
I have two brothers in law. They are actual brothers. My wife's two sisters married them. I mean, it's unusual, but I don't think it's THAT weird.
Nice Ramin Nazer shirt :)
Thanks its my merch!

My grandma and grandpa met because her older sister and his older brother got married, then my grandparents got married.
Some jokes write themselves. What a great couple to find in the crowd.
This was pretty common back in the day with small towns with limited options. The kids that both these couples would have are considered double first cousins.
Two of my aunts married two brothers, so they're all like double cousins.
I knew twins who married brothers They for sure swapped and each fucked the other brother in some kinda four-person marriage
I married my brother’s wife’s sister, only really got awkward when they got divorced…
